NXT Takeover: WarVideo games II Live Coverage And Results

Takeover: WarGames II
Date: November 17, 2018
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
Commentators: Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson
Yeah I think this is going to do just fine. Not counting the show’s namesake match, it’s a big card with a 2/3 falls title match, an NXT Title match and what could be a heck of a grudge match. As usual, NXT knows how to present a big card with all the junk trimmed off to give us the best show possible. Let’s get to it.
The opening video looks at the four matches on the card, with WarGames getting a little more attention than everything else.
The announcers preview the show with Mauro talking about Stan Lee passing away and comparing the main event to the Infinity War.
Here’s Matt Riddle, who isn’t scheduled to be on the show. He’s supposed to face Kassius Ohno on NXT this Wednesday but since they have a ring….two rings right here, let’s do this right now. Ohno comes out and says ring the bell.
Kassius Ohno vs. Matt Riddle Bell,..

Is There Heat On Brock Lesnar For How He Beat Up The Singh Brothers?

I think he’ll be fine. Brock Lesnar doesn’t exactly follow the standard path for wrestlers. He only wrestles a few times a year, rarely wrestles a long match, and seems to get to do whatever he wants. This rarely goes beyond F5’s and German suplexes because he’s so dominant with them that he doesn’t need to do anything else. However, some of those moves are so devastating that they don’t work on everyone, and that can become a problem.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is believed to be backstage heat on Lesnar for his beatdown of Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers on this week’s Monday Night Raw. During the segment, Lesnar threw the Brothers with some very hard German suplexes with the ones to Sunil Singh being considered to be too intense. The heat is said to be from the members of the locker room rather than management. At the moment, there is no word on Sunil being injured by the incident.
Here’s what made the locker room angry:

Backstage Heat On Nia Jax For Injuring Becky Lynch, Chris Jericho Comments

It doesn’t look good either way. Earlier this week, Becky Lynch was ruled out of Sunday’s Survivor Series due to a broken bone in her face and a concussion, both of which were suffered on Monday Night Raw. On Monday’s show, Nia Jax punched Lynch in the face during a brawling segment, injuring her to the point where she had to go on the shelf. It was pretty clear that backlash was coming and it’s hitting Jax from two directions.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is backstage heat on Jax due to the injury. In this case, the heat is worse because this isn’t the first time that Jax has injured someone, including both Zelina Vega and Alexa Bliss. At the same time, Chris Jericho mentioned the situation on a recent episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast. Jericho discussed the situation and thought the punch was even worse than previously described. Here are his pair of comments, with transcription courtesy of WrestleZone.com:
“If you see the punch she [Becky Lynch] took,..

Video: Top Ten Ridiculous Fast Survivor Series Eliminations

That’s kind of the point. Survivor Series takes place this weekend and in addition to all of the big singles matches, the show will feature its namesake elimination tag matches. These are going to be a lot more interesting in some cases as a single pinfall or submission can give you a story between the two people involved. Some of these are more memorable than others and in some cases that’s because of how fast they go.
Blink and you’ll miss some of them.

WWE has released a new Top Ten video looking at Ridiculously Fast Survivor Series Eliminations. This video looks at eliminations that took place right after another with the person who scored the previous elimination either getting another one or being eliminated themselves. The list looks back from almost the beginning of the show’s history to its modern editions.
Opinion: These are the things that work so well in the Survivor Series, even if you an accept all of the sudden rollups for e..

Survivor Series 2018 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We’re finally here and odds are the lineups for the matches have changed another 194 times since Tuesday. It’s another year focused on Brand Supremacy and things are changing every day for the sake of…I have no idea really. This time there are seven brand vs. brand matches and a lonesome Cruiserweight Title match (the only title match on the whole show), the latter of which you would expect to be on the Kickoff Show so the whole show could be built around one concept. You know, because that’s how you do a show like this. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Monday Raw Tag Teams vs. SmackDown Live Tag Teams Raw: Bobby Roode/Chad Gable (captains), Revival, Lucha House Party, B-Team, Ascension
SmackDown: Usos (captains), New Day, Sanity, Good Brothers, Colons
For some reason this is on the Kickoff Show, with the likely reason of allowing the entrances to not eat up such a ridiculous amount of time. At the moment this is the only Kickoff Show match and I can’t imagine that winding up being th..

Must Go Faster, Must Go Faster. Fourteen Names Added To Survivor Series Roster.

They have to fill them in. With such a short turnaround between Crown Jewel and Survivor Series, there wasn’t a lot of time to set up the latter show. That’s quite the problem with a show that is built around elimination matches and that’s exactly what we have with Survivor Series. The matches had to be thrown together in a hurry and that’s what happened this week.
On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, the rosters for both the men’s and women’s Survivor Series matches were revealed in full, along with two of five tag teams for the tag team Survivor Series matches. The captains for the men’s and tag team matches were announced as well, though there was no captain announced for the women’s team. Here was what was announced tonight:
Men’s Team
Daniel Bryan (Co-captain)
The Miz (Co-captain)
Rey Mysterio
Samoa Joe
Shane McMahon
Women’s Team
Naomi
Carmella
Sonya Deville
Asuka
Charlotte
Tag Team
Usos (Captains)
New Day
You can see one team come together all at once.

Just Where Has Bray Wyatt Been?

Follow the….wait where is he? Bray Wyatt is one of the most interesting wrestlers in a long time. He comes from a major wrestling family and has had some success on the roster, including winning the WWE Championship. However, he’s been up and down in the last year and a half, to the point where his best results were a Tag Team Title reign with Matt Hardy. Now he hasn’t been on television in a long time, and now we might know why.
According to Mike Johnson on PW Insider Elite, there are no reports of Wyatt being injured, but rather WWE is leaving him off television for the sake of letting the fans miss him for a little while. Wyatt has been absent from television since Hardy went down with an injury of his own. His last televised match took place on the August 13 episode of Monday Night Raw when he and Hardy lost to the B Team.
In case you forgot how creepy he can be.

Well Hello There. Video: NXT Star Makes Main Roster Debut.

A little insanity never hurt anyone. The WWE roster changes constantly. There are almost always new people showing up or doing something new to change things in one way or another. This can include names coming up from NXT, which is often one of the most interesting parts of the year. That was the case again this week, as an NXT name made their main roster debut.
How did she look?

This week on SmackDown Live, Nikki Cross made her debut on the main roster in a losing effort against SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. The match was a result of an open challenge from Lynch, with Sanity coming out before Cross followed. Cross was a member of the group in NXT but didn’t follow them up to the main roster. There is no word on if this is a one time appearance of a full time move for Cross.
Opinion: This is certainly a nice surprise and I could go for Cross being around full time. She’s the kind of person who actually comes off as insane and th..

What Happened After This Week’s SmackDown Live?

Just in case they weren’t ready to go home yet. The last few weeks have been very busy for WWE, including stops all over the world. Their latest shows have been in England, with Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live taking place in Manchester. This weekend will see the wrestlers return back home, but there was one last thing to do before the stop in England was over.
According to Ringsidenews.com, the dark match after this week’s SmackDown Live saw WWE Champion AJ Styles team up with Daniel Bryan to defeat the Miz and Randy Orton when Styles made Miz tap to the Calf Crusher. Bryan and Miz spent most of the show bickering over the upcoming Survivor Series match and Orton attacked Rey Mysterio after his match. Styles didn’t appear in the arena but did talk about his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar.
Styles sounds ready.

Opinion: That’s not the worst main event in the world and it makes a lot of sense to have Styles get out there and wrestle in..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – November 6, 2018

Smackdown
Date: November 6, 2018
Location: Manchester Arena, Manchester, England
Commentators: Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips
We’re in England again for the final big show on the long international tour. This show is going to be almost all about the fallout from Crown Jewel and the build towards Survivor Series, which is a mere twelve days away. Expect a lot of people being added to the card in a hurry. Let’s get to it.
Here’s Paige to get things going. She wastes no time in introducing Shane McMahon, though the fans are NOT happy to see him. After a quick clip of the ending of the tournament and a photo op with the cup, Shane says he isn’t the Best in the World. That trophy doesn’t belong to him, but it does belong to everyone here on Smackdown. He reacted by instinct on Friday because he couldn’t handle the idea of Smackdown not being considered the best.
That brings him to Survivor Series so we run down the champion vs. champion matches. What matters most though are the..

SmackDown Live Taping Results From Manchester *SPOILERS*

From England, with love. WWE has been going a bit insane with their travel schedule of late. The last two weeks have featured shows from New York, North Carolina, Saudi Arabia and now England for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. You can imagine the roster just wanting to get some sleep, and with one final show in the books they might actually be able to do that. So what happened?
WWE taped this week’s edition of SmackDown Live from Manchester, England in advance this week. The show will be focused on the fallout from Crown Jewel, with the main story being Shane McMahon somehow winning the World Cup of Wrestling and being named the Best in the World despite not actually being in the tournament in the first place. Here are the results, courtesy of WrestleZone.com:
* Shane McMahon and Paige come to the ring, and Shane says the World Cup trophy isn’t his, but it belongs to Smackdown. He says he acted on instinct at Crown Jewel, but doesn’t really think he’s the best in the world. It ..

One More Time? Current WWE Star Challenges Hulk Hogan For WrestleMania 35.

That’s what he’s gonna do? If there is one thing that the WWF could do with their eyes closed back in the day, it was push Hulk Hogan vs. the foreign monster of the month. It was a formula that worked perfectly well and made a ton of money over the years. That was thirty years ago and a certain foreign monster now seems interested in starting up the old formula again.
On Monday, the recently reinstated Hogan said that he was looking rather muscular at Crown Jewel, to the point where he could beat up most of the current roster. Rusev took exception to this and said that Hogan could start with him at WrestleMania 35, which takes place on Rusev Day. There is currently no reason to believe that Hogan is getting back in the ring and this seems to be more of a friendly exchange.
Ok, today is a new day. After seeing myself on Crown Jewel I have decided to get serious and get under 300lbs. I looked huge, swole, jacked and my arms are still bigger than most wrestlers legs. I don’t want to loo..
