It’s never too early to plan ahead. One of the biggest stories in WWE over the last few weeks has been the split of the Shield with Dean Ambrose turning on his former teammate Seth Rollins in a huge heel moment. The heat between the two has been very strong and it was clear that they would be having one heck of a big match at some point in the future. We now know what that point is.
As announced at Survivor Series, Rollins will defend the Intercontinental Title against Ambrose at the upcoming Tables Ladders And Chairs pay per view on December 16. There is no word on what kind of a match it will be, but the show does tend to be full of matches with stipulations. This will be the first match between the two since July 2016 when Ambrose defended the WWE Championship against Rollins on SmackDown Live.

It didn’t go so well for one side. Over the last few years, Survivor Series has been built around the idea of brand supremacy. Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live had formed teams for a series of matches with the team winning the most matches being awarded bragging rights for the year. Monday Night Raw has won two years in a row so it was time for a change of pace. So how did SmackDown Live do this year?
This year at Survivor Series, Monday Night Raw completely swept SmackDown Live, winning by a score of 6-0. Monday Night Raw won both elimination matches as well as all four champion vs. champion matches, with the only one not coming via clean pin being Ronda Rousey defeating Charlotte via DQ. The seventh match, another elimination tag, was held on the Kickoff Show and didn’t count towards the score.

AJ Styles dropping the WWE Championship to Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live this week was a surprise. Most people expected the title change at Crown Jewel, but Bryan didn’t go to Saudi Arabia and the rumor is that WWE officials just pushed their plans back a bit. However, it turns out there’s more happening with Styles behind the scenes.
According to a report from DirtySheets, the company didn’t want to book Styles to lose against Brock Lesnar for the second straight year. The problem behind the scenes has been the contract negotiations between Styles and WWE have dragged on for months with the two parties being unable to agree on some major details of a new contract.

The opening match at NXT Takeover: War Games II was a “surprise” bout between Matt Riddle and Kassius Ohno. The match didn’t last long. In fact, it was over in the blink of an eye with Riddle knocking Ohno out cold in seconds. The NXT Universe was surprised by the match because it was advertised to be a part of the taping for next week’s show.

By all appearances, Black vs. Ciampa is the plan for the NXT Championship after the event. However, it’s unclear where Gargano fits into the NXT Title picture as a heel.
According to a report from PWInsider Elite, NXT officials could be looking for Gargano to remain a heel while Black remains the No. 1 Contender. It’s also been rumored that a ‘DIY’ reunion could happen soon while both Gargano and Ciampa are heels. The angle is going to come down to how NXT officials want to book Johnny Wrestling going forward.

For the past few months, the WWE Universe has been wondering about Pete Dunne’s condition. There have been rumors that he’s been injured for quite some time and if he would need to drop the United Kingdom Championship soon.
