NXT Is Getting A New Star Next Week (Kind Of)

Welcome to the team. NXT has been shaken up multiple times in recent months and those changes have had quite the impact on the promotion. Rather than a third WWE brand, NXT is now back to being much more of a developmental promotion and that has included several changes to the roster. NXT still has some very talented wrestlers and now another one is on his way there.
This week on NXT, an announcement was made that NXT UK’s A-Kid would be making his NXT debut next week. There is no word on if this is a one off appearance or a permanent move. A-Kid is the first ever Spanish born WWE star and was the first ever NXT UK Heritage Cup winner, holding the cup for a record 174 days. No announcement was made about what A-Kid will be doing on next week’s show.
Opinion: This is a nice surprise as A-Kid has been one of the better things about NXT UK since he debuted. A-Kid is someone who can wrestle a good match against just about anyone, which is more than you would expect from someone with his ..

Wrestling Legend Confirms She Is Retired From The Ring

It was great while it lasted. There have been countless wrestlers over the years but only a small handful of them reach legendary status. Those wrestlers are some of the greatest of all time and you will occasionally be lucky enough to see them in the ring after reaching such a high level. That is the case with a few names today, but one of them will not be getting back in the ring.
Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer and former WWE Women’s Champion Gail Kim appeared on Busted Open Radio and confirmed that she will not be returning to the ring and is officially retired. Kim cited a variety of health reasons, including not wanting to risk her back or memory getting worse. Kim is currently a producer and on air authority figure for Impact Wrestling. Her final match took place at Rebellion 2019 against Tessa Blanchard.
Opinion: If this is what Kim wants to do and she is happy with the decision, then good for her. She is someone who has had an absolute Hall of Fame career and has nothing left..

WWE Might Not Show All Of This Year’s Hall Of Fame Inductions

There is more to it than that. WrestleMania 38 is less than a month away and that means WWE is probably ready to announce just about everything they have scheduled for the weekend. That makes for some exciting times and announcements, including some things that have nothing to do with WrestleMania itself. However, there are going to be a few things announced that you might not be seeing.
This year’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be taking place after the April 1 SmackDown. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, some of the inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame will only take place digitally, meaning they will not all appear on the Peacock broadcast. The omissions will be due to WWE wanting Undertaker’s induction to be a huge event and the broadcast only lasting ninety minutes. So far, only Undertaker and Vader have been confirmed for this year’s class, though a third name has been rumored.
Opinion: I’m not surprised that this is the case, but it does make the Hall of Fame s..

WATCH: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Answers Kevin Owens

And that’s the bottom line. Earlier this week, Kevin Owens invited “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to be a guest on a special edition of the “KO Show” at WrestleMania 38. It would appear that The Rattlesnake has given his response.
WWE has released the following video, indicating that Austin has accepted Owens’ offer and will see him in Dallas, Texas on the Grandest Stage of them all. You can see the video below:

From WWE.com:
Still reeling after he and Seth Rollins lost in their Raw Tag Team Title Triple Threat Match earlier in the evening on the March 7 edition of Raw, a defiant Owens reemerged before the WWE Universe with an epiphany. Owens called out “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and shared his desire to deliver a Stunner the world would never forget to the WWE Hall of Famer, whom he called a “broken-down shell of his former self.”
In response to Owens, “Stone Cold” released a video the following day from his beloved Texas and declared that he..

Huge Title Change Takes Place This Week On NXT

History has been made! There are so many wrestlers in WWE today that it can be difficult to find something for all of them to do. WWE already has wrestlers on two different rosters and that isn’t even considering NXT. That makes things even more complicated as NXT is the official WWE developmental system. Sometimes you see some crossover between the rosters, and that was the case in a big way this week.
Dolph Ziggler won the NXT Title this week in a triple threat match over defending champion Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa. This is Ziggler’s first NXT Title win and came in his first title shot. Ziggler has been feuding with Breakker and Ciampa over the title in recent weeks. While not confirmed, it is expected that Ziggler will defend the title at Stand & Deliver on April 2 against an opponent to be named.
Opinion: This is something that is rather surprising but is a smart move overall. Odds are this leads to Breakker getting his rematch at Stand & Deliver and getting his title bac..

WATCH: The Rock vs. John Cena From WrestleMania 29

The redemption story. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page in which they show the full match between The Rock and John Cena for the WWE Championship from WrestleMania 29.
You can see the video in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

From WWE.com:
As their battle progressed, the two Superstars abandoned all pretenses and cued up the heavy artillery, tossing signature maneuvers at each other in the hopes of keeping the other down. For a moment, it seemed like Cena had the advantage again when Rock nearly fell victim to the same hubris as his opponent last year, attempting Cena’s Five Knuckle Shuffle and running straight into Cena’s waiting arms for an AA. The Cenation leader later used the same history to his advantage when he suckered Rock into another AA after faking him out with a façade of the same People’s Elbow endeavor that cost him the bout last year.
Victory would not come so easily at the cost of The People’s Champion, though, and the ba..

NXT LVL Up Results – March 4, 2022

NXT LVL Up
Date: March 4, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness
NXT has started to change a bit now as it has a big show coming up next month. That is something they have been needing, though again I can’t imagine it makes much of a difference around here. This is the same dumping ground for lower level NXT stars who need to be in the ring and that isn’t exactly exciting stuff. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Dante Chen vs. Javier Bernal A lockup goes nowhere to start as they roll away from each other before Bernal grabs a headscissors on the mat. Back up and Chen slips out of an abdominal stretch attempt but gets rolled up for two. A belly to back suplex gets Chen out of trouble but his chinlock doesn’t last long. Bernal comes back with a crossbody for two, only to have Chen roll him up for the pin at 3:26.
Result: Dante Chen b. Javier Bernal – Rollup (3:26)
Respect is shown post match.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Erica Y..

NXT Live Coverage And Results – March 8, 2022

NXT
Date: March 8, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett
It’s a special show as we have Roadblock, because this company likes to hit you over the head with the Road To Wrestlemania, or in this case Stand & Deliver, idea. The main event is a triple threat for the NXT Title between champion Bron Breakker, Dolph Ziggler and Tommaso Ciampa, but we are also going to get more of the women’s Dusty Classic. Let’s get to it.

More On What To Expect From Vince McMahon At WrestleMania

He’s kind of important. There are a lot of people involved in the wrestling world but there is only one Vince McMahon. Like him or not, McMahon is the most powerful person in the wrestling industry and has been for decades. Anything he does can make a rather large difference in the industry and it can be an even bigger deal when he appears on television. That will likely be the case at WrestleMania 38 and now we know a bit more about it.
One of the matches announced for WrestleMania 38 will see Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory. The match was originally announced during McMahon’s appearance on McAfee’s podcast, with Theory, who has been mentored by McMahon on WWE TV, being announced as the opponent the following day. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon is scheduled to be part of the match in some way, with the focus being on McMahon vs. McAfee. There is no word on how that will be set up, but an angle of some sort will be shot before WrestleMania.
Opinion: This is something tha..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Another Former WWE Champion Joining Hall Of Fame

It keeps getting bigger. We are rapidly approaching WrestleMania 38 and that means things are starting to get more interesting in WWE. There are a lot of plans that need to be made before we get to the show, but some of those changes have nothing to do with WrestleMania itself. Some other things take place over the course of the weekend and now we might know something else about one of them.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, Sycho Sid will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Sid wrestled for WWE in multiple stints and is a two time WWE Champion, last wrestling for the company in 2012. Should he be inducted, Sid would join Vader and Undertaker, the latter of whom Sid faced for the WWE Title in the main event of WrestleMania 13.
Opinion: Sid is another name that might not have had the biggest demand to get in, but once you hear his name added, it makes sense. He has a certain level of charisma to him that makes you want to see what he is going to do ne..

Becky Lynch Injured During WWE Live Event, Sent To Hospital

That’s a unique one. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to get injured and some of them can happen out of nowhere. Those injuries are often worse as there is such little warning that they have a bigger impact. On top of that, it can be even stranger if the injury is not something you hear about very often. That is the case again and it happened to one of the biggest stars in WWE.
Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was not present at this week’s Monday Night Raw, with commentary mentioning an incident with Bianca Belair over the weekend. Lynch posted to Instagram, showing herself in a hospital bed and saying that she suffered a fractured voice box in a match against Belair in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Sunday night. According to PWInsider.com, Lynch’s injury is legitimate and she will be out of action for about two weeks, which will put her back in time for her title defense against Belair at WrestleMania 38.

REVIEW: Sacrifice 2022: It’s Much Better When You Can Actually See It

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Sacrifice 2022
Date: March 5, 2022
Location: Paristown Hall, Louisville, Kentucky
Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt
This is the month’s Impact Plus special and the card is looking decent. There are a ton of title matches, capped off by Heath of all people getting the World Title shot. If that isn’t your thing, there are three Women’s Title matches, plus a hoss fight between Jonah and PCO. Let’s get to it.
Note that I was in attendance for the show, sitting in the balcony. That being said, I barely saw ..
