Fusion #122
Date: February 17, 2021
Location: Filthy Island, Hawaii
Commentators: Dan Lambert, Tom Lawlor, Jared St. Laurent, Rich Bocchini
It’s time for a special event as MLW offers their take on UFC’s Fight Island. As long as we don’t have to deal with another Fyre Fest joke, I’m all for trying something new, as MLW is getting weaker and weaker every show. The main event is a long awaited showdown between Low Ki and King Mo. Let’s get to it.
We get a disclaimer that MLW assumes no liability on the show.
Tom Lawlor tells Dominic Garrini that there is a problem with catering, meaning there is no spam. Lawlor sends him down to the port and hands him a bottle of something. Garrini: “You want me to drown him?” Lawlor: “It’s for you.” Garrini stares into the camera.
Opening sequence.
Commentary welcomes us to the show and runs down the card.

WWE Announces Set Of Biographies And New Series

Another showcase. Wrestling is one of the most unique forms of entertainment in the world as there really is nothing like it. The entire industry is a mixture of athleticism, drama, comedy, romance and more with most of it taking place live. That is hard enough to pull off, but having the right roster can help things so much. Those people are some of the most important people around and now some of them are getting a closer look.
We have been seeing a bit of a renaissance of interest in wrestling in recent years as there have been several different looks at wrestling. This has included books, documentaries, movies and television shows, but now we are going to be seeing two of them together in a long format. WWE is getting in on it this time as well, and that could be rather interesting in the right circumstances.
WWE has announced the schedule for a ten week partnership with the A&E Network, which will begin on April 18. The partnership includes eight two hour editions of the A&E Bio..

Possibly Injury Takes Place On Monday Night Raw

It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of ways for an injury to take place in wrestling and that can make for some rather scary moments. You never know how long someone is going to be out of action or how nasty the injury could be, leaving people wondering just how bad things are. That seemed to be the case this week on Monday Night Raw and now we could be dealing with the fallout.
One of the interesting stories from last weekend’s Elimination Chamber pay per view event saw Riddle win the United States Title from Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match, also involving John Morrison. Riddle pinned Morrison to become the new champion, which according to WWE logic meant that Riddle would face Morrison the next night in a non-title match. Things did not work out so well.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, Morrison may have suffered an injury during a dive in his match against Riddle. Morrison landed on Riddle during the dive but his knee landed on the floor. He was seen limping l..

What Does “Angry Miz Girl” Think About His Recent Title Win?

One of the most infamous professional wrestling fans of all time is Caley, who is better known as “Angry Miz Girl”. This fan was visually upset in 2010 when The Miz won his first WWE Championship and was not afraid to show off her displeasure.

But what does Caley think about the idea that he is once again the WWE Champion?
She recently spoke with Abhilash Mendhe of Sportskeeda and had the following to say regarding the title change:
“I personally think he’s one of the best on the roster, I know it’s a big change from my opinion 10 years ago but I love him when he’s a heel champion, I think he’s got the personality for it down to a T.”
“I loved meeting The Miz and he was always super kind to me and he worked super hard, so I definitely think he deserves it.”
Her reaction earned her a Slammy back in 2010:

How Jon Moxley Got Ric Flair Arrested (Allegedly)

That’s a wrestling story. There are certain stories that you hear that could only exist in wrestling. A business that is built around carrying on a huge lie throughout every match and show makes for a rather unique situation. Some wrestlers are more famous for their stories than their in-ring abilities but others are known for both. That is the case again, though the story does not have the happiest ending.
There are almost no legends in wrestling history on the same level as Ric Flair. Not only is he one of the best in-ring wrestlers of all time but there are more stories about him than anyone not named Andre The Giant. Flair has done more things and caused more chaos than almost anyone ever, though sometimes he is not the most innocent in the whole thing. Even though he is retired, Flair is not done just yet.
In a new interview with the Metro, Jon Moxley told a story of he and Flair getting drunk at an airport bar when Moxley was wrestling as Dean Ambrose in WWE. Flair would wind u..

Problems Continue Between Retribution After Monday Night Raw

Things aren’t looking great. Stables are an interesting way to go in wrestling as there are great at giving a lot of people screen time at once. Sometimes you are going to have wrestlers who cannot get somewhere on their own so putting them together makes sense. That was the case in theory with a recent Monday Night Raw stable, but things are already falling apart.
Debuting back in August, Retribution has had quite the rocky history. The team never felt like it had the most logical or clear direction and the members did not exactly receive the strongest pushes. Adding Mustafa Ali as the leader helped somewhat, but did not solve all of the problems. Those problems still abound to this day and now we might be seeing them overwhelm the team.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Ali vented his frustrations with the team after another loss. The following day, other members of the team complained as well, with some of the complaints directed at Ali himself. Reckoning asked how much longer they w..
