WWE Promoting Survivor Series In A Pretty Cool Way

It’s time to hype it up. Later this week, WWE is bringing Survivor Series to Brooklyn, which is going to get even more attention than usual. Survivor Series is already one of the biggest shows on the WWE calendar, but now it is taking place in New York City. That means WWE is going to want to get as much extra attention as they can. It seems that they have a plan on how to do just that.
According to Fightful Select, a group of WWE stars will be involved in a major media appearance later this week. Big E., the Miz, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Bianca Belair and the Street Profits will be appearing on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert later this week. The sketch was filmed in advance, though there is no word on when it will air. In addition, Roman Reigns is scheduled to appear on this Wednesday’s edition of the Tonight Show.
Wrestlers have appeared on late night TV before. Check out some of the cooler moments:

Randy Orton Set To Break An All Time WWE Record

That’s what they’re made for. Records and statistics can be fascinating in wrestling, as there is end to how deep you can go. You will hear all kinds of stats and numbers and some of the things that you will find can be very interesting. It is a pretty cool moment when you see something take place for the first time ever, and that is going to be the case this weekend at a major event.
According to the Internet Wrestling Database, Randy Orton is scheduled to take part in his 177th pay per view match this Sunday at WWE Survivor Series. This will move him into first place all time, breaking his current tie with Kane at 176 pay per view matches. Orton and Riddle are scheduled to face the Usos in a champion vs. champion match. Orton’s first pay per view match came at Summerslam 2003.
Orton has been in some high profile pay per view matches. Check out some of his better ones:

Wrestling Legend Teases Surprising Return At WWE Survivor Series

Welcome back? Wrestling has come a long way in the last several years and a lot of those changes are not going to be changing anytime soon. Some of these are more popular than others, as there are some which can cause wrestlers a lot of trouble. One such wrestler got in trouble for something that took place a long time ago, but we might be seeing him again pretty soon.
This Sunday, WWE will be presenting Survivor Series, featuring a match between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte. The promos leading up to this match have involved Lynch questioning Charlotte’s in-ring skills and legacy. As a result, Charlotte’s father Ric Flair has sent out a tweet, suggesting that he will be at Survivor Series to watch the match. Flair was released from WWE earlier this year but has not made a major appearance since an episode of Dark Side Of The Ring discussed Flair’s behavior on the infamous Plane Ride From Hell in 2002.

You Might Have Missed A Cool Tribute On Monday Night Raw

Did you catch it? There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today and it is difficult to find a way for them to stick out. With wrestlers being able to do all kinds of athletic feats, they are going to have to have to come up with something to set them apart. One of the best ways is with a different look, which was on display this week, even if you might not have noticed.
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a segment between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. The segment saw Morgan wearing a red outfit, which was inspired by Britney Spears’ outfit from her Oops!….I Did It Again music video. Morgan referenced Spears in a tweet by saying “Hit Me Becky One More Time. NXT interviewer Samantha Irvin mentioned the Spears inspiration as well.

Top AEW Star Taking Time Off After Full Gear

He has earned the break. AEW has come a very long way in its short history and there is nothing to suggest that they are going to slow down anytime soon. Things got picked up in a big way again over the weekend with Full Gear, which saw the crowning of a new World Champion. That is quite the changing of the guard, but it might be an even bigger one than you thought.
The main event of Full Gear saw Hangman Page defeating Kenny Omega to become the new AEW World Champion. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Omega was always planning to take time off as soon as he lost the title. There is no word on how long Omega will be out of action, though he is said to also be suffering from vertigo. It is not clear if the vertigo is the reason for Omega taking time off.
Omega has put in the work. Check out some of the things he did as AEW World Champion:

Hangman Page Issues An Amazing Statement On His AEW World Title Win

You have to have a sense of humor. There are certain moments in a wrestler’s career that change things in a major way. Some of these might be financial, such as signing a new contract with a company, but others can be reaching a milestone, such as being trusted as the top star of a promotion. The latter often comes with becoming the World Champion, and now a new champion has something in mind.
Over the weekend, Hangman Page defeated Kenny Omega to win the AEW World Title at Full Gear. Following the win, Page has issued a statement, which talks about his title win and what he wants to do as champion. The release is rather tongue in cheek, with a scheduled release date of “sometime after BTE goes up I guess”. Page also includes a thank you to all of his fans for sticking by him over the years.

VIDEO: WWE Stars Want Changes To Survivor Series Format

She might be on to something. We are on the way to Survivor Series and this time around will be similar to the previous years. This year’s show will be focused on the idea of a battle for brand supremacy between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, which might not be lighting the world on fire at the moment. It turns out that one prominent WWE star is not exactly thrilled with the idea either.
During a new interview with Vincente Beltran, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch said that she felt the idea of battling for brand supremacy is “a little outdated”. Lynch went on to say that all WWE wrestlers are competitors and therefore want to compete for some kind of a prize. There is no word on WWE changing the concept, though Lynch is not alone with this line of thinking. SmackDown’s Xavier Woods also suggested that the winning team’s brand received the final five spots in the Royal Rumble match.
It was an interesting interview. Check out what Lynch and Woods had to say, plus what brand supremac..

Issues Between Vince McMahon, Randy Orton, And A Camel

It’s a unique situation. Earlier this year, WWE headed back to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel, their first event in the country for about a year and a half. That is the kind of thing that WWE can go with as they know how to make special shows feel that much more important. They did that in a few different ways, but Vince McMahon himself had to turn down one specific idea.
Crown Jewel featured a tag team match between RKBro and AJ Styles and Omos. The match featured a special entrance for RKBro, as Riddle rode a camel to the ring. In a new interview with Metro, Riddle revealed that Randy Orton was originally planned to ride a camel to the ring as well, but McMahon turned down the idea. McMahon’s reasoning was that Orton’s character would not ride a camel, which confused Orton. Instead of riding his own camel, Orton walked to the ring next to Riddle on his camel.
It was a unique moment. Check out the entrance, plus other camel related moments in WWE history (seriously):

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2004: The Consolation Prize

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Survivor Series 2004
Date: November 14, 2004
Location: Gund Arena, Cleveland, Ohio
Attendance: 7,500
Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler
This is an interesting show as the two big matches are a match where the impact comes over the next four weeks and another where there is little more than bragging rights on the line. The build for this show hasn’t been the strongest, though a lot of that is due to the changes taking place in the company. There are some fresh talents coming in and they’re sti..

WWE Star Hosting Upcoming Gaming Competition Show

It’s a gig. Wrestling is a weird sport as it can be hard to get out of the industry. Unfortunately you see a lot of wrestlers who do not have much of an exit plan and are often in some trouble after retiring. The good thing is that you see a variety of wrestlers who have something else to do after wrestling is over, and now a current wrestler is moving in the direction of a new career.
WWE has announced that it is partnering with the soon to relaunch G4 network for a yet to be titled video game competition series. The series will be hosted by Xavier Woods and will feature various gamers facing off to “settle scores with actual scores.” In addition, Woods will be hosting The Catastrophic Launch Spectacular, which will air later this week and feature a look at the upcoming series on G4.
Woods can do a lot of things. Check out his time in gaming and in/out of the ring:

Wrestling Legend Undergoing Surgery While Fighting Cancer

Hopefully the surgery makes things better. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who we watch on TV every week, but there are things that take place when the cameras go off. Unfortunately some of these things are a lot more serious than others, including a wrestler’s health. That is the case again with a wrestling legend, who is undergoing a procedure while already in pretty serious shape.
Bobby Fulton, most well known as part of the Fantastics tag team, has announced that he underwent throat surgery on Monday. There is no word on what Fulton’s surgery is for, though he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019. Fulton retired from wrestling in 2020, following a forty three year career in wrestling. He last wrestled on December 14, 2019 in an eight man tag at Bobby Eaton: A Night Of Appreciation.

Another Big Change To WWE Survivor Series Card

The last second substitution. We are coming up on Survivor Series later this week and that means it is time to start having everything set up for the show. Granted that has rarely been WWE’s style though, as they have a tendency to wait until the last possible second to do a lot of things. That would include one more change to this year’s card, as someone else will now be on the card.
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a main event of Bobby Lashley defeating Rey Mysterio. After the match, WWE executive Adam Pearce came out and announced that Mysterio was off of the team due to his loss, with a replacement to be named. Austin Theory came to the ring and attacked Mysterio’s son Dominik, which was enough for Pearce to put him on the team instead.
Theory is a good choice. Check out what he is bringing to the team:
