Impact Wrestling held it’s biggest show of the year last night in Ottawa. Bound For Glory 2017…well, let’s just say that Impact Wrestling continues to channel their inner TNA and does not appear to learn from history. The show was plagued with technical issues, botches, silence from the crowd, and angles that were questionable at best (Alberto El Patron’s return promo that revolved around his domestic violence incident with Paige was in bad taste to say the least). Sami Callihan and Jimmy Jacobs made their debuts for Impact, as well.

Bound For Glory 2017 Results

  • Trevor Lee defeated Dezmond Xavier, Matt Sydal, Petey Williams, Sonjay Dutt, & Garza Jr. to retain the X Division Championship
  • Taiji Ishimori defeated Tyson Dux
  • Abyss defeated Grado in a Monster’s Ball Match
  • Team Impact (James Storm, EC3, & Eddie Edwards) defeated Team AAA (El Hijo del Fantasma, Pagano, & Texano)
  • oVe defeated LAX (with some help from Sami Callihan) to retain the Impact Tag Team Titles
  • Gail Kim defeated Allie & Sienna to win the Knockout’s Championshi (this was Kim’s retirement match)
  • King Mo & Lashley defeated Moose & Stephan Bonnar in a Six Sides Of Steel Match
  • Eli Drake defeated Johnny Impact (with a lot of help from Alberto El Patron) to retain the Impact Global Championship

In other Impact Wrestling news, the company continues to cut costs everywhere they can. At last night’s show, it was reported that the talent was worried that they would be asked to renegotiate their contracts for much lesser pay due to cost cutting. This is what happened with all of the referees who ended up departing the company instead of taking a huge pay cut.

Jimmy Jacobs will be sticking around Impact, at least for this week. He is taking on the role of a producer for this week’s set of television tapings in Ottawa.

Dean Broadhead, the one person mostly responsible for keeping TNA/Impact Wrestling’s head above water during the past few years, was let go by Anthem. This apparently happened back in September.

And lastly, it’s being reported that Anthem’s Ed Nordholm sent out an email last week, letting everyone in Impact’s Nashville office know that they were consolidating and moving the promotion’s operations to Anthem’s office in Toronto. What this means for the Nashville office staff and others that work for the promotion in the US is unknown at this time.
