Chris Jericho Challenges Kenny Omega To WrestleKingdom 12 Match During Power Struggle
Talk about shock of shocks. Tonight during NJPW Power Struggle, we got the surprise of a lifetime when, after Kenny Omega successfully defended his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Trent Barreta, Omega’s next challenger made himself known.

We were all kind of expecting the mysterious Switchblade to show up, but instead, we got Chris Jericho. I guess the past few weeks of Twitter trolling between these two was actually leading somewhere. The general consensus is that the match would take place on the Jericho Cruise next year, but obviously, these two had bigger plans in mind.
This is a rather interesting turn of events. Chris Jericho is still involved with WWE, and even though he is no longer under contract with the company and works on a per-appearance deal, he still has strong ties with WWE. But, with him appearing at WrestleKingdom 12 for NJPW, one has to assume that he feels this is the best business for him.
As for Omega, the move makes sense. It’s a big match with a big name. And, I am sure that Kenny will beat him soundly. For NJPW, it’s a coup, especially with their wanting to go global. Jericho has been a face of WWE, so this is a good get for them, especially seeing as how Jericho was just on WWE television not too long ago.
The build for this should be more than interesting. I have no clue if NJPW plans for Jericho to make an actual appearance before WrestleKingdom, but they should.
