WWE SmackDown Ratings, Viewership (10/17/17): Numbers Drop This Week
The WWE SmackDown ratings data and viewership information are in for this week’s show, and the blue brand saw their numbers decline after getting a nice little boost with last week’s post-Hell In A Cell episode. Last night’s show, which featured more celebration between newly reunited BFFs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode extending their feud with 50/50 booking, and a tag team main event, drew 2.320 million viewers. This is down from last week’s 2.467 million viewers.
This week’s drop in the numbers is not surprising. Last week’s boost probably had a lot to do with mainstream media covering Shane McMahon’s Hell In A Cell antics and very little competition for the blue brand. Last night, they were up against both the NBA and MLB, stiff competition for every other thing airing on television.
SmackDown Live was #9 in viewership for this week on cable, falling behind two NBA games, two MLB games, MLB post-game coverage, Rachel Maddow, Hannity, and Tucker Carlson. SmackDown Live was #9 in the 18-49 demographic, falling behind the NBA, MLB, American Horror Story, MLB post-game coverage, The Mane Event, and Inside The NBA.
The show scored a .73 cable rating for the night in the 18-49 demographic. This is down from last week’s .80 rating in the same demographic.
