NXT TakeOver WarGames Coming To Houston In November (Spoilers)
The next TakeOver event finally has a name. NXT TakeOver: WarGames will be hitting Houston during Survivor Series weekend, airing live on WWE Network on November 18th. The name and some matches for the show were announced during tonight’s NXT tapings at Full Sail, and shortly thereafter, Triple H made it official.

This is the second Dusty Rhodes brainchild that WWE has resurrected over the past several weeks. First came the announcement for Starrcade in Greensboro next month, and now WarGames, which first took place in The Omni in Atlanta during the NWA and Jim Crockett Promotion’s Great American Bash tour in 1987.
For those that don’t know, the original WarGames match consisted of two teams of either four, five, or more men each facing off with each other in staggered entry format. The bout consists of 7 periods. The first one-on-one fight is 5 minutes and all remaining competitors from both teams enter the match at two minute intervals. The setup of the cage consisted of two rings side by side with a giant ring-encompassing rectangular cage that covered both rings, but not the ringside area. Doors were placed at far corners of the rectangular cage so the two teams didn’t come into contact before they were supposed to.
It’ll be interesting to see if WWE and NXT keep the original set-up for WarGames, because they aren’t keeping the original team concept. NXT will have three teams of three men competing in their WarGames bout at TakeOver. The match will feature the NXT Tag Team Champions, but whether WarGames will turn into a title match is unknown at this time.
Also at tonight’s tapings, several matches were announced for the show.
NXT Title
Drew McIntyre vs Andrade “Cien” Almas.
NXT Women’s Title Fatal Four Way
Kairi Sane vs Peyton Royce vs Nikki Cross vs Ember Moon.
WarGames
The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, & Kyle O’Reilly) vs The Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong vs Sanity (Eric Young, Killian Dain, & Alexander Wolfe).
