Daniel Bryan On His Wrestling Return; Ric Flair Health Update
Ric Flair Health Update
As we’ve been reporting throughout this week, Ric Flair is currently in an Atlanta hospital, trying to recover from a myriad of health issues. Flair is doing better, but he is not out of the woods yet.
It’s being reported now that Flair has been given an external pacemaker, so his heart is beating at a normal rhythm again. He is still on dialysis for kidney failure, and he’s battling an unknown infection that still has not been cleared up. Flair underwent surgery earlier this week for an intestinal blockage.
Melinda Morris Zanoni from Legacy Talent provided an update on Flair’s condition on Twitter today, saying that he was awake and had even cut a promo on a nurse yesterday, but there are still complications and he needs rest.
Our thoughts are with Flair and his family at this time, and we continue to pray for a full recovery for The Nature Boy.
Daniel Bryan On Returning To The Ring
Daniel Bryan is intent on returning to the ring. In a recent interview, Brie Bella gave her blessing on her husband wanting to return to his dream of wrestling, and she revealed that Bryan is currently undergoing hyperberic therapy to help his brain recover from years of concussions.
On the most recent episode of Edge & Christian’s podcast, Bryan explained the treatment and the “misunderstanding” that led to his retirement.
“All of a sudden, one of the doctors that had cleared me calls me and said, ‘Bryan, what happened? Like, you ran through all this testing and everything was fine. What happened?’ And I told him what had happened. I said, ‘they found a lesion on the temporal parietal region of my brain.’ And he goes, ‘wait, hold up – a lesion?’ And I said, ‘yeah,’ and I don’t know what a ‘lesion’ means to you guys, but a lesion to me means you have a cut, right? Like I have a cut on my brain. And he goes, ‘no, a lesion in medical terminology is a very vague thing. It just says something is there, right? Like, we don’t know what it is, so we call it a lesion in the temporal parietal region of your brain.”
My reflexes in the temporal parietal region of my brain are slower than what they would expect, right? So in the report, they put ‘lesion on the temporal parietal region of the brain.’ They’re not slower than say your average person, but they’re slower than, like, your MMA athletes or people that they test for a lot of this kind of stuff, right? So I just have average reflect time and I’m just like, ‘oh no, I don’t think they understand I’m just an average person. I’m not a real athlete! There’s this thing and it’s just like, ‘oh no, there [has] been this huge misunderstanding,’ right?”
There’s this vast improvement. And Brie sees the vast improvement. And then Dr. (Barry) Miskin thinks within 120 total treatments, so 80 treatments more, that my brain could get back to where if you looked at it from any other spectrum, you would think that I’d have never done any contact sports in my entire life.”
