WWE SummerSlam 2017 Updated Card: Two New Matches Confirmed
We’re still a little more than a month away from WWE SummerSlam, but matches for the “The Biggest Party of the Summer” are already piling up. WWE Battleground on Sunday night saw the first match confirmation as SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi will defend her title against Natalya after the Canadian outlasted Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Lana, and Tamina in a Five-Way Elimination Match. During the July 24 broadcast of RAW, two additional matches were announced.
During RAW’s opening segment, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will compete in a Fatal-4-Way Match against Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, and Roman Reigns. The three challengers for Lesnar’s title will compete in a Triple Threat Match next week on RAW.
Later in the show, Bayley defeated Sasha Banks to determine the No. 1 contender to Alexa Bliss’s RAW Women’s Championship. After the match, Bliss entered the ring but was not confrontational.
