GFW Amped Tapings Will Finally Air; Shows To Feature WWE Superstars
A little more than two years since its tapings, Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling (GFW) will finally premiere its unaired episodes, which will feature current WWE superstars. According to Impact Wrestling, GFW Amped will debut as part of an One Night Only anthology pay-per-view series starting August 11th. The Amped Anthology will air as a four-part tournament show.
“We can’t wait for everyone to see the Amped Anthology Series. The names alone are worth the price of the Pay-Per-View,” said GFW co-founder Karen Jarrett.
Based on an official 30-second video, there are familiar faces no longer associated with GFW and Impact Wrestling rosters such as current WWE NXT Champion Bobby Roode and RAW superstars Mickie James, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows. Other familiar names that have been confirmed to appear in the anthology series include RAW’s Curt Hawkins, SmackDown’s The Singh Brothers, who were known as the Bollywood Boys, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Kushida. PJ Black, Nick Aldis (also known as Magnus), Sanada, and Sonjay Dutt have been announced for “Part 1” of the show.
The first GFW tapings occurred in 2015 from Las Vegas.
The Amped Anthology announcement comes nearly a week after Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions LLC., the parent company of Impact Wrestling, acquired GFW. As a result of Anthem’s acquisition, Impact and GFW founder Jeff Jarrett will join Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions as a member of its and Chief Creative Officer, board of managers and equity owner.
