Impact Wrestling Plans Tribute For Pulse Nightclub Victims
According to a statement issued by Impact Wrestling, they plan to pay tribute to the 49 victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. The tribute is scheduled for Monday, July 3, which is the next time Impact will be in the Orlando area.
Impact Wrestling (formerly TNA) spent a larger percentage of the past 15 years in Orlando, having taped the majority of their shows at Universal Studios. As a result, many of their long-time talent, referees, and staff (production and front office) have a deep connection to the Orlando, Florida area.
For those unfamiliar, June 12, 2017 marked the first anniversary of the deadly nightclub shooting. It was the largest mass shooting in U.S. history. In total, 49 people were killed and an additional 58 were injured. Most of the victims were Latin members of the LGBT+ community who had come to the club for Latin night. Pulse Nightclub has closed permanently since the attack.
