Kurt Angle Heaps Praise On Finn Bálor, Eyes Dream Match
In a recent interview with the Metro, Kurt Angle spoke at great length about the former and inaugural WWE Universal Champion, Finn Bálor. The RAW general manager had nothing but good things to say about the Irishman, who he believes has become one of the world’s most popular wrestlers due to his hard in-ring and character work over the years. The Olympic gold medalist noted that on returning to WWE he did not recognize Bálor, who he’d previously met years before in Japan.
Speaking about how impressive Bálor’s transition from junior heavyweight in NJPW to one of WWE’s top guys, Angle stated:
What he’s been able to do over the past ten years is incredible, not just from wrestling in the junior division in Japan to the heavyweight division, but bringing this character to life. Finn Balor, the Demon. He has transcended himself to being one of the most popular wrestlers in the world.
He went on to express that the improvements Bálor has made have blown him away, even setting sights on a potential match between the two in the future:
Being able to do a program with him would be awesome. I’m sure he dreamed of wrestling me back then, now I’m dreaming of wrestling him.
