WWE Title Rematch Announced; Updates For Tonight’s RAW
WWE Title Rematch Announced For New Orleans SmackDown Live
It looks like Randy Orton will have to wait a couple of weeks for his WWE Title rematch with Jinder Mahal. WWE announced today that the rematch will take place on June 13th when SmackDown Live hits New Orleans for the final event in The Big Easy until next year’s WrestleMania 34.
Two other Backlash rematches will take place on the blue brand’s show that night, as well. Kevin Owens and AJ Styles will meet once more for the US Title, and Dolph Ziggler will get a rematch with Shinsuke Nakamura.
WWE is touting this episode of SmackDown Live as a huge event for New Orleans with a triple main event, and I am sure there will be plenty of hype for next year’s WrestleMania to go along with it.
RAW News & Notes
In news for tonight’s episode of RAW, it looks like The Drifter Elias Samson will finally make his main roster in-ring debut on tonight’s show instead of just walking around backstage with a guitar. And, apparently, he will debut against one of RAW’s top names.
Other matches announced for tonight include:
- Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe & Bray Wyatt.
- Finn Bálor vs Karl Anderson.
- Matt Hardy vs Sheamus (the winner of this match gets to determine the stipulation for the RAW Tag Team Title match at Extreme Rules).
- Alexa Bliss vs Mickie James.
