WATCH: 47 Year Old WWE Veteran Suggests Major Career Changes

The new version? Finding the right character for anyone is a difficult trick in wrestling. If someone is not presented in the right way, their career could be in a lot of trouble. There is always the option of switching things up, and that could be done in a variety of ways. Now it seems that WWE is making an effort to change up one of its longest standing veterans into something more serious.

In recent weeks, Shelton Benjamin and R-Truth have teamed together on Main Event. This week, the two were backstage where Benjamin talked about how he needed to take things more seriously. Benjamin said that he had more of his career behind him than in front of him and everyone told him to be more serious around here. He explained that he describes himself as a former champion to remind himself of how good he used to be. Benjamin then walked away from R-Truth, who said nothing.

This is a different way to go. Check out what Benjamin had to say:

Opinion: While it might be a bit late for Benjamin to make a big run, there is something to be said about capitalizing on someone with his level of talent. At the same time, it is kind of amazing to see WWE doing something on Main Event. The show has felt completely unimportant for a long time now but here they are, running an angle on a show that could be interesting. That is a change I could be interested in so well done.

What did you think of the speech? What is next for Benjamin? Let us know in the comments below.
