More On Adam Cole’s WWE Contract Situation, What Hasn’t Happened
Someone might want to get on that. NXT is a pretty unique place in the wrestling world as it serves not only as its own wrestling show but also as the official developmental promotion for WWE. That can make things all the more difficult for them, as NXT wrestlers are not meant to stick around for very long. One name who has been around for a long time might not be around much longer though.
Earlier this week, a story emerged that NXT’s Adam Cole’s WWE contract expired later this month. According to Fightful Select, WWE has yet to offer Cole a new long term contract, but it is something they plan on doing. There is no word on what Cole plans to do, though he is said to have a great relationship with the people running NXT. Cole’s contract originally expired in July after the Great American Bash but he agreed to an extension through Summerslam weekend.
After debuting with NXT in August 2017 at Takeover: Brooklyn III, Cole would soon join forces with Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish to form the Undisputed Era. The team would dominate NXT for the next few years, including holding all of the men’s titles at the same time. Cole is the longest reigning NXT Champion in history and an NXT Triple Crown winner.
Cole is worth keeping around. Check out what he has done in NXT:

Opinion: The more I think about it, the less sure I am of what I think Cole should do and what he will do. Cole has been in NXT for years now and has nothing left to accomplish there. If WWE is not willing to send him to the main roster, I’m not sure what else he is supposed to do in NXT. I’m sure NXT would love to have him around, but if they aren’t going to do anything with him, I’m not sure if he is going to stick around, of if he should.
