Round Two: Former WWE Star Training To Become A Boxer

It’s a new way to go. Wrestlers are certainly athletes, though they are not often going to get the same kind of recognition as more mainstream athletes. This is not the fairest thing in the world, as wrestlers can often be an athletic freak who just needs a chance to prove themselves. That might be the case again soon, as a former wrestler is going to be trying a new sport.

According to Fightful Select, former WWE star Lars Sullivan is in training to become a boxer. There is a possibility that this will be either as a bare knuckles boxer or a traditional boxer, though this is not clear. Sullivan’s career is only in the early stages and he may eventually take a fight at some point in the future. Sullivan is said to be trying to capitalizing on his time as a WWE star to springboard into the boxing world.

Sullivan worked for WWE from 2013-2021, mainly appearing in NXT. In late 2018, Black would be advertised to move to the main roster, though the debut was postponed due to anxiety issues. Sullivan would eventually debut on SmackDown in April 2019, only to undergo knee surgery and miss over a year. During his time away, stories emerged about Sullivan posting homophobic, racist and sexual comments on a bodybuilding forum before and after he had signed with WWE. Sullivan requested his release from WWE in 2021.

There was potential there. Check out what Sullivan did in WWE:

Opinion: I’m not sure how this is going to go for Sullivan, but I can understand the logic he is following here. Above all else, Sullivan is best known for his time in WWE and if that can catapult him into something else, it could be about as good of an idea as he has. Hopefully he can find out what he wants to do and make it work, because he has some skills that he could use outside of wrestling.

Will Sullivan make it as a boxer? Will he ever wrestle again? Let us know in the comments below.
