Another perspective. WWE is in the middle of a huge change as Vince McMahon is back from his five and a half month retirement and seems set to sell the company later this year. This is the kind of change that can shake up the wrestling industry and it has come close to doing so already. It is something that is hard to fathom, but now we are hearing from someone on the inside. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Fight Breaks Out At WWE Performance Center WWE CEO Nick Khan appeared on the Bill Simmons Podcast where he discussed McMahon returning to WWE. Khan talked about McMahon’s return to the company and praised him for using his authority as majority shareholder to come back. He also said that he always felt McMahon would come back after the dust had settled. Finally, Khan said that he didn’t not believe the board of directors forced McMahon to step away, but rather that McMahon chose to do so. Here are some highlights, with transcription courtesy of 411mania.com: On McMahon’s Return “F..
The build continues. There are all kinds of ways to set up a wrestling match, with some of them being a bit more unique than others. This can include various angles and moments between the wrestlers involve, some of which can take place in different areas. With the advent of various modern technology, it can be easier than ever to film something outside of an arena and that took place again this week. WWE NXT recruit Alexis Lete uploaded a video to her Instagram page where she talked about a series of drills. As she was talking, Grayson Waller and NXT Champion Bron Breakker got into an incident, which included Waller throwing a water bottle. This caused the two to get into a fight, with officials having to break it up. Waller is scheduled to challenge Breakker for the NXT Title at Vengeance Day on February 4. Things got intense. Check out the fight, plus who got into it: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video,..
That’s a special honor. One of the biggest WWE stories in 2022 was the return of Cody Rhodes. After being away from the company and wrestling around the world, including in AEW, Rhodes was back and started to take the company by storm. Rhodes would get hurt in June though, putting him on the shelf for the rest of the year. Now it seems that Rhodes is on his way back, and he has had some help getting there. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: You Can See Him: John Cena Reportedly Filmed More Content With Monday Night Raw Star Over the last few weeks, WWE has been promoting Rhodes more and more, including an interview on the December 26 Monday Night Raw and videos talking about his 2022 return on the following two shows. According to Fightful Select, Rhodes has been training at the WWE Performance Center and hand picked NXT’s Carmelo Hayes and Joe Gacy to help him get ready. There is no word on when Rhodes is expected to return to WWE TV. Rhodes was a force during his brief return to WWE. Check ou..
Earlier this week, it was reported by F4WOnline.com that Kevin Owens tweaked his knee during a WWE live event in Madison, Wisconsin over the weekend. The belief was that the injury was an MCL sprain,. However, Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Kevin Owens will be part of the Survivor Series WarGames match. CageSideSeats reported this morning that Owens is rehabbing his knee at the WWE Performance Center and was consulted by WWE doctors on Monday. The report also details that the former WWE Universal Champion is still traveling with WWE and his status for tonight’s SmackDown and other shows is unknown. Related: Kevin Owens Injured At WWE Live Event PWInsider is also claiming that Kevin Owens is scheduled for SmackDown for tonight and next week before Survivor Series. With the physical demands of a WarGames match, which he’s undoubtedly familiar, it’s unlikely that WWE officials will have him wrestling on the show. He’ll most likely be doing promo segments and maybe a scuffle leading to ..
That’s a step. Top level professional are among the most well trained and skilled athletes in the world. It can take years of training and practice to reach the point where they are able to have that kind of match and several steps have to be taken to make that work. Now a top level prospect has taken one of the most important steps towards becoming a professional wrestler. In 2021, WWE announced that Olympic gold medal winning wrestler Gable Steveson had been signed to the company and was even drafted to Monday Night Raw. Steveson began training for professional wrestling but has yet to officially debut. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Steveson has begun wrestling practice matches at the WWE Performance Center. There is no word on when he will debut on WWE TV. Opinion: This is a big step for Steveson but it could be a long time before he actually gets in the ring in a meaningful way. Steveson is potentially one of the biggest signings in the history of WWE but at som..
Back in the fold. There have been a lot of returns to WWE in recent months and those do not seem to be coming to an end. Following Triple H’s return to power in recent months, several former WWE and NXT stars have returned to the company in one form or another. That can make for some very nice moments and now we might be seeing it happen again, at least in the short form. According to PWInsider.com, former NXT Tag Team Champion Biff Busick, formerly known as Oney Lorcan, was back at the WWE Performance Center as a guest coach. The stint is only in a guest role and there is no word on if Busick will be back with the company full time. Busick was released from WWE in November 2021 along with several other wrestlers as part of WWE’s string of releases. Opinion: I’m not sure if Busick is going to be brought back to WWE full time but he is someone with more than enough talent to have some kind of a place in the company. It makes sense to have someone like him back as a coach, even for a s..
Welcome back? We are less than two weeks away from Summerslam and that means WWE is going to be working overtime to make things more interesting and draw in as many fans as possible. There are a few ways to do that, with one of the biggest being bringing in stars to help carry the show. WWE might be doing that with a name that has not been seen in a very long time. According to PWInsider.com, Bayley is scheduled to be in Nashville, Tennessee for Summerslam weekend, meaning that she could be returning at the event. This is NOT confirmed and is only seen as a possibility at the moment. Bayley has been out of action since June of last year with a knee injury, though she has recently been seen training at the WWE Performance Center. Opinion: Bayley has teased returning so many times now that I’m only going to believe it when I see it. It has been a long time off for her but a major knee injury like this isn’t the kind of thing that you just bounce back from. I could certainly go for Bayl..
Homecoming? It is always sad to see a wrestler put on the shelf for a long time as you never know when they are going to be back. That can make for some rather terrible waiting spells and a WWE star is in the middle of one of the longer in recent memory. Fans have been waiting for her to be back for a long time now and that might be a lot sooner than they think. According to PWInsider.com, Bayley has been at the WWE Performance Center for several days in the past week, though what she is doing there has yet to be confirmed. Bayley has been out of action since June 2021 with a knee injury and it is not clear when she will be able to return to the ring. Over the last few months, Bayley has dropped hints suggesting that she will be back in the ring soon. Opinion: This is one of those things that sounds great on paper but you don’t know what it is going to mean, as Bayley could be out of action for a long time to come. What matters is the fact that she is at least on the road to recovery..
It might be a little while. There have been all kinds of changes taking place as of late in WWE, with some of those taking place behind the scenes. Those changes have caused various changes to take place in front of the camera as well. Some of the changes might not have taken effect just yet though, and that seems to be the case with one of the more interesting ones. Last month, reports stated that Triple H had returned to the WWE Performance Center and declared that he was “back”. However, according to PWInsider.com, the NXT leadership team has not changed and there is nothing to indicate that Triple H has any official position. Shawn Michaels is still the brand’s manager, with head writer Johnny Russo, Nick Bonnano and George Caroll as the writers. There is no word on when, or if, Triple H will resume any kind of authority. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that shouldn’t surprise you in WWE, as the company continues to change one thing after another. I’m not sure where this is go..
He’ll get there. WWE has undergone quite a few backstage shakeups in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that they will not continue. There have been bosses coming and going backstage and that can make for some major changes. However, that is not always the case, as one recent change does not seem to have had the impact it was expected to bring so far. Last week, a rumor broke that Triple H had returned to the WWE Performance Center and said that he was “back”, though it was not clear what that meant. However, according to Post Wrestling, Triple H was not backstage at this week’s NXT and the show was run by the usual group. There is no word on what Triple H might be doing in NXT or with the Performance Center going forward. Opinion: This is one of those things where it might be too early for anything to be clear just yet. Triple H said that he was back but that does not necessarily mean that he is going to be doing anything immediately. Maybe this changes in the near future..
You need to bring someone in. One of the biggest WWE stories over the last few years has been the amount of releases the company has made. WWE has let all kinds of wrestlers go and the roster is far more sparse than it was before. At some point WWE needs to bring someone else in, which is what they are doing now, albeit from a sport outside of professional wrestling. Former Bellator fighter Valerie Loureda has announced that she has signed a deal with WWE. Loureda is the first Cuban American woman in WWE and wanted to represent Latin culture. This comes after Loureda trained in the WWE Performance Center back in May, leading to speculation that she could sign with WWE. There is no word on when she will start working for WWE full time. I am honored to become the first Cuban American woman in history to sign with the WWE. I come from a family of immigrants, now it’s my time to represent our Latin culture, I was destined for this. Thank you for this opportunity @WWE @WWENXT I will make ..
He has a history there. Celebrities have been a part of wrestling for a very long time now and it makes a good deal of sense. Fans of the celebrities care about what they are doing and wrestling fans get to see what happens when someone famous comes into their world. It turns out that some of them are quite the athletes too, and that might be the case again with a celebrity coming back at Summerslam. This week on Monday Night Raw, the Miz was asked about Logan Paul training at the WWE Performance Center. Miz said that the two of them would be teaming together again at Summerslam on July 30. This comes after Miz attacked Paul after their victory over the Mysterios at WrestleMania 38, which Miz referred to as a lesson to Paul. There is no word on what Paul and Miz will be doing at Summerslam. Opinion: I don’t think it was a secret that Paul would be back in WWE in some way, but at least now we have an idea of what he is going to be doing. Above all else, it helps to have someone with h..
It’s a way to get people watching. Wrestling has a long history of working with celebrities, including bringing them into the ring. This opens up a variety of new doors for both stories as well as fans, as you do not know what you are going to get to see or how a celebrity will do in the ring. That seems to be the case again at an upcoming show and there is potential for some success. Logan Paul has posted some photos to his Twitter showing him training in a wrestling ring, with WWE producer Shane Helms being visible in the ring as well. The photos appear to be from the WWE Performance Center, suggesting that Paul may be working with WWE. Paul has appeared for WWE before, including a match at WrestleMania 38 where he teamed with the Miz, who turned on him after the match. There is no word on a match between Miz and Paul at the moment. ? @wwe pic.twitter.com/wOVqSneTPr — Logan Paul (@LoganPaul) June 26, 2022 Opinion: This is something you probably saw coming as there was little reas..
That’s an upgrade. WWE has been undergoing a lot of backstage changes throughout the last year. People have been moved in and out of positions and several of those roles are key to helping the company be as successful as it can. Some of the biggest changes have taken place in recent weeks and now we have another one, which may stabilize things in an important area for a long time. Earlier this week, a rumor broke that Triple H was returning to the WWE Performance Center, saying that he was “back”. Wrestling Observer Radio has more details on the return, saying that Triple H said that some things are happening but he can’t talk about them at the moment. It is not clear if Triple H is running NXT again, but he is said to be back with more power. Opinion: As a long time NXT fan, this is a very exciting time. At the end of the day, NXT 2.0 has been a very different direction for the show, though I’m not sure how interesting it has been. The show has been watching a developmental promotio..
Welcome back! To say there has been a lot of upheaval behind the scenes in WWE in recent months would be a huge understatement. The company’s front office has been turned upside down in a lot of ways and that is probably going to be continuing in the near future. It can be interesting to see how things shake out, and now another big change seems to be putting things back to how they were before. According to John Pollock of Post Wrestling, Triple H is reportedly back at the WWE Performance Center and has said that he is “back”. This comes after Triple H has been away from NXT since August of 2021 when he suffered a cardiac event. There is no word on what Triple H will be doing or if he is going to have anywhere near the authority that he had before. This change follows John Laurinaitis being placed on administrative leave and Bruce Prichard being named the new Head of Talent Relations. According to multiple sources, Paul Levesque was in Orlando today and spoke at the Performance Cent..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Halftime Heat Date: February 3, 2019 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Shawn Michaels, Vic Joseph So since the four hours of content enough yesterday, we’ll take a look at this quick show here, which is comprised of one match from the NXT crew. That’s not the worst idea in the world, and since it’s just a quick thing that isn’t even half an hour, it’s hard to get too annoyed over the whole thing. Let’s get to it. Aleister Black/Velveteen Dream/Ricochet vs. Adam Cole/Johnny Gargano/T..

Money In The Bank 2020 Date: May 10, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips It’s a special event this time around as the majority of the show will be taking place in the Performance Center but the two ladder matches, taking place at the same time because reasons, are to be held at WWE Headquarters in Connecticut. This could be anywhere between a disaster or fascinating, or perhaps a combination of both. Let’s get to it..
