Get Well Soon: Missing WWE Star Reportedly Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

That explains some things. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be out of the ring and a good number of them are health related. If someone is injured, there is very little that they can do to get back in the ring without risking a much bigger problem. Such an injury can explain a lot of absences and now we know about another such injury that is preventing an expected return. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s A Dangerous Place: NXT Star Attacked In Parking Lot By Unknown Assailant Back in May 2022, Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out on WWE vacating the Women’s Tag Team Titles in the process. While Banks has gone on to wrestle in New Japan Pro Wrestling under the name Mercedes Mone, Naomi has not been seen in wrestling. During a virtual signing with Golden Ring Collectibles, Ariane Andre, formerly known as Cameron and Naomi’s former tag partner, revealed that Naomi is recovering from shoulder surgery. There is no word on when the surgery took place or Naomi’s recovery time. It is ..

That’s Big: D-Von Dudley Reportedly Nearly Fired Over Recent Independent Show Situation

That’s a bit more serious. There are a lot of people who come together to make a WWE show work and several of them are rarely seen on camera. In addition to the wrestlers who get all of the spotlight, there are all kinds of people who work hard to make the show a success. Those are people who help get the wrestlers ready, but WWE almost let one go over a recent incident. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Need Plans: WWE Looking For Backup Plan If Rock Cannot Work WrestleMania 39 Earlier this month, a story broke about D-Von Dudley being pulled from the Battleground Championship Wrestling “Tribute To The Extreme” event in Philadelphia. The promotion has said that the issue was a misunderstanding, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dudley was nearly fired over the incident. WWE reportedly did not want Dudley to risk his health during the show, even though the only thing he would have done was get the tables. The appearance was initially shut down by Bruce Prichard, with Tri..

Good News: Wrestling Legend’s Health Reportedly Improves After Rough Patch

That’s an improvement. While they are not always credited as such, wrestlers are very talented athletes who regularly get in the ring and put their bodies on the line. There are always going to be risks involved with wrestling and some of the problems do not show up until after a wrestler’s career is over. That is the case with an all time legend, but things might be doing a bit better. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: To The Other Side: WWE Twitter Fans Gush Over Possible Upcoming Heel Turn Earlier this year, reports began to surface that Hulk Hogan was undergoing health issues, mainly related to his back. During a recent edition of his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair revealed that he had been in contact with Hogan, whose back is said to be doing much better. Hogan still regularly appears at his Florida beach shops and in commercials for the stores. These are two legends. Check out what the two of them can do on their own and together: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post..

Not Full Strength: WWE Star Very Sick, Lost 15lbs In Last Week And A Half

That’s a rough way to go. Wrestlers take a lot of risks every time they get in the ring, as wrestling is certainly not the safest sport in the world. The wrestlers who get in the ring are putting their bodies on the line every time and they can take a lot of damage. On top of that though, there are all kinds of other health issues wrestlers have to deal with, including one nasty illness. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Big One: WWE High On Rhea Ripley, Speculation On Huge WrestleMania 39 Match SmackDown star Ricochet has revealed that he has been suffering from an illness which has caused him to lose 15+ pounds in a week and a half. Ricochet did not reveal if he is back to full health or if he is expected to miss any ring time. He has wrestled multiple matches in the last ten days and is currently scheduled to face Santos Escobar in the finals of the SmackDown World Cup this Friday on SmackDown. The fact that you’ve lost 15+ pounds because you’ve been sick for the past week and a half. ?..

Kurt Angle Reveals Weird Side Effect From Major Surgery

Call it a benefit? While there are parts of it that are a bit different, the athleticism required in professional wrestling is right there with mainstream sports. The wrestlers you see are working hard every time they are in the ring and unfortunately that means they are facing the same risks as everyone else. Now one legend has an interesting story about fixing one of his injuries. Earlier this year, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle underwent double knee replacement surgery. Angle spoke about the after effects of his surgery on the Kurt Angle Show, revealing that he is now taller after the operation. Angle’s knees were bent from damage and the replacements have made him stand up straighter while also having his legs extend. Prior to his surgery, Angle said he looked like “an old man walking”. Opinion: That’s one of the weirder situations you’ll see in wrestling but it is great to have Angle so much healthier than he was in before. It would be great to have him able to walk normally agai..

REVIEW: Ric Flair’s Last Match: Please Be An Accurate Description

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Ric Flair’s Last Match Date: July 31, 2022 Location: Nashville Municipal Auditorium, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Tony Schiavone, David Crockett, Ian Riccaboni We had to get here eventually and I’m not that happy about it. This is a show that I haven’t really wanted to watch since it was announced and that hasn’t changed since. While I absolutely respect what he did in the ring, I’m not the biggest Flair fan and seeing him do something this risky isn’t something I particularly needed to see. The good thing i..

KB’s Review: Who Else Do They Have

As you might have heard, Summerslam is this coming Saturday and that means it is time for….well a bunch of stuff we have seen before. If there was a theme to this year’s show, it would be Summerslam: Rematch Edition, and that isn’t the most exciting way to go. There isn’t much on the card that has me inspired to see where things go, and that is rather disappointing. At the same time though, it is rather unsurprising and that is what we are going to look at this week. Summerslam has eight matches on the card and the majority of the card is comprised of rematches. The show has two rematches from Money In The Bank (Usos vs. Street Profits, Bobby Lashley vs. Theory, and Ronda Rousey vs. Liv Morgan, though the latter has an asterisk due to the cash in), one from this week’s Monday Night Raw (Mysterios vs. Judgment Day) and two from WrestleMania 38 (Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair). That’s at least half (or more) of the card is made up of matches that we hav..

I’ll Buy That: WWE Employees Barred From Trading Stock Due To Vince McMahon’s Retirement

There’s a new rule. Over the last few weeks, WWE has been shaken up in ways that it never has been before. The main change has been due to Vince McMahon retiring from the company, which has certainly changed the way the company works. There are going to be ripple effects, and now we know how the departure has directly impacted the company’s employees. According to Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston and independently confirmed by PWInsider.com, WWE employees are banned from buying or selling shares of stock in the company until further notice. There is no word on why the company decided to make the change. WWE employees occasionally receive stock as part of their compensation, and it is not clear if that practice is suspended as well. Opinion: That’s a bit of a weird one, but there is always the chance that this is designed to avoid the risk of any sort of insider trading issues. With the company being all over the place at the moment, it might make sense to cut off one potential headach..

Vince McMahon Now Under Federal Investigation; Hastened His Retirement

It had been previously reported that WWE had made a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, announcing that Vince McMahon had paid $14.6 million that were not recorded as company expenses. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the SEC and federal prosecutors have launched inquiries into payments made by McMahon to settle allegations of sexual misconduct. The report states that the payments were made from 2006 through 2022. WWE has said McMahon “has or will pay” all the expenses personally, and it expects to revise previous financial statements going back to 2019 to reflect the payments. WWE also said that an internal board investigation “expects to conclude that its internal control over financial reporting was not effective as a result of one or more material weaknesses.” WWE has lucrative licensing deals with entertainment giants such as Fox Corp. and NBCUniversal, which could be at risk due to these allegations. The company is also seeking new busines..

WATCH: John Cena vs. Kevin Owens From Battleground 2015

The battle continues. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between John Cena and Kevin Owens for the United States Championship from Battleground 2015. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: After absorbing some serious punishment from K.O. in the early goings of this anticipated rubber match, Cena caught Owens with an Attitude Adjustment, a maneuver that somehow only garnered a two-count. With frustration beginning to set in, Cena attempted to go high-risk, taking the challenger to the top rope for a superplex. Anticipating Cena’s next move, Owens reversed the maneuver, sending The Champ crashing down hard on his left shoulder. Cena reeled following that sickening impact, but this fight was far from finished. Dazed and visibly pained, Cena evaded a Pop-up Powerbomb from his opportunistic foe and again went for the Attitude Adjustment. However, Owens quickly countered with..

Ouch: NXT Star Injured At Live Event, Match Stopped

It’s the risk you take. You never know when you are going to see a wrestler get injured. It can happen to anyone at any time and that is never a good thing to see. Wrestling is a physical sport and that means there is always the chance that someone could go down at any given time. That seems to be the case again at an NXT event, as a wrestler seems to have gotten hurt. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony D’Angelo was injured at the NXT live event in Largo, Florida. D’Angelo’s match against Cameron Grimes was stopped due to a shoulder injury with Grimes being awarded the victory. There is no word on the severity of the injury or if D’Angelo will be forced to miss any ring time. D’Angelo and his Family have been feuding with Legado del Fantasma in recent weeks. Sigh, it seems @TonyDangeloWWE suffered a shoulder injury at #nxtlargo Hopefully @WWENXT did some weird work and if not, hopefully the dude is alright. WRESTLING RUMORS: How Cody Rhodes Was Allowed To Wrestle At Hell In A Cell

That explains a bit. Every so often you see a wrestling performance that defies all logic and abilities, as you might not know how someone is able to do what they pull off in the ring. That was the case this weekend as a wrestler worked through one of the most gruesome injuries that you will likely remember for a very long time. Now we know a bit more about how it happened. At Hell In A Cell, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the show’s main event, which was held inside the show’s title structure. Rhodes wrestled the match despite having torn his pectoral muscle earlier in the week. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Rhodes was allowed to wrestle the match because he could not cause any more damage. However, some spots, including a moonsault, were removed from the match. The reasoning for why Cody was cleared to wrestle is because he can’t do more damage to his completely torn pec. There were some high risk spots (moonsault) that were scrapped from the match. #HIAC — Wrestling News (..

Here’s Why Alexa Bliss Has Yet To Return To WWE TV

She has something to do. Wrestlers come and go from WWE at a fairly brisk pace, as you don’t know who you might not see again for a long time. That can make for some surprising changes, including a wrestling making their return. This time, a wrestler was gone, then came back and is now gone again. We might know a bit more about what is going on. Back in February, Alexa Bliss made her in-ring return at Elimination Chamber, marking her first match since September 2021. However, she has yet to return to the ring since, with reports saying that she would not be back on television until after WrestleMania. According to PWInsider.com, Bliss is scheduled to be married this weekend, meaning she will not be back on television anytime within the next week. It is not clear when she will be returning to the ring. Opinion: That is a pretty unique and important reason to not be back on television after WrestleMania. At the same time though, I’m nos sure what exactly WWE has planned for Bliss, as t..

Wrestling Legend Confirms She Is Retired From The Ring

It was great while it lasted. There have been countless wrestlers over the years but only a small handful of them reach legendary status. Those wrestlers are some of the greatest of all time and you will occasionally be lucky enough to see them in the ring after reaching such a high level. That is the case with a few names today, but one of them will not be getting back in the ring. Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer and former WWE Women’s Champion Gail Kim appeared on Busted Open Radio and confirmed that she will not be returning to the ring and is officially retired. Kim cited a variety of health reasons, including not wanting to risk her back or memory getting worse. Kim is currently a producer and on air authority figure for Impact Wrestling. Her final match took place at Rebellion 2019 against Tessa Blanchard. Opinion: If this is what Kim wants to do and she is happy with the decision, then good for her. She is someone who has had an absolute Hall of Fame career and has nothing left..

“Serious” Injury Takes Place At AEW Revolution

You never want to see what. There are all kinds of matches in wrestling and some of them can be incredibly dangerous. While a wrestler can be hurt in any kind of match, there are certain matches that crank up the risk even higher. That can lead to a variety of injuries and now it seems that one such match might have led to an injury that could put a star on the shelf. Last weekend’s AEW Revolution pay per view included the Face of the Revolution ladder match, which included six competitors. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Orange Cassidy suffered a shoulder injury when he was tossed over the ring and landed on a pile of wrestlers. There is no word on the severity of his injury or how long he might be out of action as a result, though he was described as the only “serious” injury of the night. Opinion: That is never good to hear and hopefully Cassidy’s injury is nothing serious and he will be back in action sooner rather than later. A match like that is going to have all kinds o..

Reigning World Champion Working Through Serious Injury, Will Need Surgery

It’s the risk you take. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today but only a handful of them make it to the top of the industry. The easiest way to recognize a wrestler’s success is with a title, as they tend to go to the top stars in the wrestling world. That is the case with various World Champions today, but one of them has been defending his title with a pretty nasty health issue. During an interview with PWInsider.com, Impact Wrestling World Champion Moose has revealed that he has suffered a torn labrum. Moose is planning to work through the injury for now, though he knows that he will eventually have to take an extended time away from the ring to fix the problem. He also said that he has worked through this kind of pain before, as he played a full NFL season with a torn rotator cuff. Opinion: That’s never good to hear, but if Moose can work through it, that’s awesome news for the fans. Moose is a great choice as World Champion as he feels like the most dominant person..

WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens From Royal Rumble 2021

Got to beat the count. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship from the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The risks grew higher and higher as the brawl sprawled throughout the WWE ThunderDome. In one of the more terrifying scenes, Reigns launched KO off a high staging area through a table, but Owens got to his feet in the nick of time. Moments later, as Owens staggered into the backstage area, Reigns drove into him with a golf cart, sending Owens crashing through the plexiglass windshield. Still, Owens fought on. When Reigns took the opportunity to mock Owens’ grandfather, as he did two nights ago on SmackDown, it awoke a new fighting spirit in the challenger, and Owens launched a revised attack that culminated with a senton off the top of a forklift thro..

BREAKING: Roman Reigns Has Coronavirus, Off WWE Day One

It is always a risk. The Coronavirus pandemic has wrecked havoc on the wrestling world over the last year and a half, but things are starting to get back to normal. That being said, there is still the chance that something could go wrong and cause a wrestler to be infected no matter what. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again and it is happening at the very last minute. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has announced that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus, meaning that he is off this weekend’s WWE Day One pay per view. Reigns was scheduled to headline the event against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. WWE has announced that Lesnar has been added to the WWE Title match, making it a fatal five way. I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon ..
