That’s a serious fall. There have been a lot of major spots throughout the history of wrestling and some of them are rather memorable for a variety of reasons. Sometimes you see something take place that you did not might think possible but it leaves quite the impact. That was the case with one famous spot and now the relatives of the person involved are telling their version of the story. During a new interview with SportsKeeda, Solo Sikoa spoke about his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, falling off the top of Hell in a Cell at Armageddon 2000. Rikishi was shoved off the cell and into the back of a truck by the Undertaker during the way way main event. According to Sikoa, his brothers, the Usos, were consoling their mother, who may have started crying. Sikoa couldn’t believe that Rikishi took such a fall. Some people have to go. There are so many people on the WWE roster that the company has split them up into a few different rosters. That can make things a bit more interesting as WWE keeps Monday Night Raw and SmackDown fairly even, with NXT as a somewhat distant third. Then there is a fourth roster with NXT UK, which does not get quite the same level of attention. NXT UK has some talented wrestlers, but now one of them is on her way out. NXT UK’s Candy Floss has announced that she is leaving the company. Floss spoke about her departure due to her contract expiring on Twitter, where she talked about how her mother passed away from breast cancer in May 2019 before signing with WWE in January 2020. Vince McMahon’s Mother Passes Away
We have some sad news to report this morning as Vince McMahon’s mother, Vicky Askew, has passed away at the age of 101. She died peacefully in her sleep at her home in The Woodlands, TX, just outside of Houston. From her obituary: Vicki was born on July 11, 1920 in Florence, South Carolina, the only daughter of four children of Orpheus William Hanner and Victoria Kennedy Hanner. The family moved when Vicki was a young girl to Sanford and then to East Sanford, NC where she spent her childhood. Vicki was blessed with two sons, Rod and Vince, both of whom married their childhood sweethearts. Sadly, Rod passed away one year to the day before his mother. Vicki’s childhood was tough. She spoke of it in an interview for the North Shore Church in 2018: “My mother had to go to work to support me and my three brothers. She started by selling Avon. Some Excellent Wrestling News For A Change (Health Related)
Some good news for a change. Things have been a little bit rough for a lot of people for a long time now, including in the wrestling business. The Coronavirus pandemic has completely changed the injury and a lot of people have been out of work because of it. As a result, it would be nice to hear something good for once and that is the case in a big way this weekend. Former Impact Wrestling announcer Don West has announced that his brain cancer is in remission. In June of this year, West announced that he had been diagnosed with brain lymphoma. Since then, he has undergone chemotherapy and radiation treatments and is now able to return to his job in radio. West served as a play by play announcer for Impact Wrestling from 2002-2012. They’re parents! Earlier today, Renee Paquette announced to the world that she had given birth to her and her husband, Jon Moxley’s first child. The announcement came via Twitter this morning! The child’s name is Eleanor and is named after Paquette’s grandmother. She made the announcement official on the May 20 episode of Oral Sessions. Seth Rollins Offers Sweet Mothers Day Tribute To Becky Lynch
You only get one. Wrestlers are just like regular people in a lot of ways. While they might be major stars in front of the camera, they have real lives once the shows go off the air. Those include friends and families, some of which are celebrated just like the ones in our own lives. That was the case on Sunday, and this time around it was for a pretty special occasion. SmackDown star Seth Rollins has posted a photo to Instagram, showing his daughter with his fiance Becky Lynch. The photo’s caption talks about how great it is for his daughter to be able to call Lynch her mother and wishes Lynch a happy first Mother’s Day, along with wishing everyone else a happy Mother’s Day. Lynch gave birth to their daughter back in December.
