Familiar Bunch: Several Former WWE Stars Appearing For Debuting Promotion
Call it a reunion? There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and it can be difficult for all of them to find a place to go. While WWE and AEW are often the goals for several wrestlers, there is not room for all of them there. That is where the independent promotions come in though and that is the case again, with several former WWE stars finding a new home. The new Wrestling Entertainment Series promotion has announced its debut card, which will take place on June 4 in at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England. Another Backstage Name Leaves WWE After WrestleMania
They’ll need a replacement. There are a lot of people who work together to make a WWE show work. While the wrestlers are the most obvious, they are also going to need some help getting things set up in the first place. That can be easier said than done but WWE has an experienced staff of people backstage helping. However, that staff is now going to be one person short. According to PWInsider.com, WWE producer Pat Buck has finished up with the company after WrestleMania 38. That’s very different. As you have probably been able to tell, the WWE has been undergoing quite the shakeup in recent memory. A lot of this has been due to the arrival of new company President Nick Khan, who has negotiated a series of lucrative deals for the company. These things have been rather successful so far and that is going to get Khan more good will. It turns out that he is going to be getting quite a few more responsibilities. According to PWInsider.com, Khan is being given even more authority and goals in the company. The idea is to move WWE into more of a mainstream property in the same vein as Marvel or DC Comics. He started in the WWF all the way back in 1999 and came back after a lengthy hiatus, only to reach some incredible heights all over again. Despite being in WWE less than three years and having only turned 27 years old last month, Bliss is already a five time Women’s Champion and will very likely add more to that resume in the near future. Ricochet has new goals after coming to NXT. At NXT Takeover: New Orleans, Ricochet competed in a ladder match for the NXT North American Championship. Vince McMahon’s XFL Revival Already Has Some Early Competition
Vince McMahon only recently revealed the revival of the XFL but it seems that alongside the pre-existing NFL, McMahon may have new competition and he is very familiar with the man responsible for it. The name behind this competition is Charlie Ebersol, someone very familiar to McMahon. Ebersol’s father Dick was a longtime NBC executive and actually helped McMahon launch the original XFL years ago, with Ebersol himself directing the recent ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on the failed launch of the original XFL. Today, Ebersol has announced the formation of the Alliance of American Football. According to WrestlingInc, Ebersol plans to launch the AAF on CBS on February 9, 2019 which is set to follow the NFL’s Super Bowl. This is much sooner than the XFL, which is set to begin in early 2020. Dick will serve on a board of directors alongside former NFL stars Hines Ward, Justin Tuck, and Jared Allen. Bischoff says that he always drew the line at anything involving race or religion. He admits that while you’re caught up in a ratings war it’s very easy to do anything imaginable to create controversy, but we must always remember that there is a line we must not <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/cross/" title="cross">cross</a></strong>.</p><p></p><p>Another listener asks Bischoff what he thinks about GFW’s current product, and if he thinks the company can ever turn the corner. He says that he doesn’t watch GFW, so he doesn’t have an opinion on the current product. In terms of if they can turn the corner, Bischoff says it’s hard to know unless you’re involved in the company and you understand what their goals are moving forward.</p><p>He points out that GFW are in a tough spot right now because their only revenue source is through their international television licensing. Bischoff says if they lose their deal with <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/poptv/" title="PopTV">PopTV</a></strong> and therefore their presence on U.S. television, their demand overseas drops dramatically and that could become very problematic.</p>
