The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations
They had an idea. Stables are a concept that has worked in wrestling for decades and continues to do so to this day. It makes a lot of sense as well, as a stable allows several people with anywhere from identical to even somewhat related goals a chance to be on television together. WWE has used them for years, but there was one reincarnation that they passed on instead.

Back in 2015, a group of international stars joined forces as the League Of Nations. The team, comprised of Wade Barrett, Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, were a force in WWE until April 2016 when they split up for good. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE had considered relaunching the League Of Nations with Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and himself. Rawley did not say when this would have taken place or how far along the plans went. Rawley’s role in the group would have played off of his Arab background, but he caught the Coronavirus and was taken off television. Rawley was ultimately released in April 2021.
The team was a quite a force. Check out the group in action, plus what they almost had in Rawley:

Opinion: This is an idea that could have had potential, but above all else it could have given Rawley something to do. Rawley always seemed to have potential to do something else in WWE but it never clicked for whatever reason. It’s kind of a shame that this never happened, and now I’m curious to see how well it would have gone if Rawley and company had been given a chance.
