Of Course: 60 Year Old WWE Legend Inducts Himself Into Hall Of Fame, Accuses Miz Of Theft

It’s part of his thing. There are certain wrestlers who become popular with the fans for one reason or another, but in some cases their popularity rises after they hang up their boots. It can be rather interesting to see what a wrestler comes up once their career is over. This is certainly true with a former WWE star, who now thinks that his gimmick has been stolen by someone who came along later. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: WWE Possibly NXT Women’s Title, New Champion To Be Crowned Former WWE star Virgil has taken to Instagram, announcing that he has been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He thanked his favorite opponents in the business, including names such as Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and Bret Hart, along with the “million dollar dandy El Dandy”. Finally, Virgil thanked Damage CTRL for allowing him to be their hero and accused the Miz of stealing his gimmick. There is nothing to suggest that WWE has inducted Virgil into the Hall Of Fame. RUMOR: Ronda Rousey Up For Marvel Film Role

It might work for her. Wrestlers have a long history with acting as the theory goes that wrestlers are already acting so they might be able to act on screen. That theory has only worked on occasion though as many wrestlers have tried and failed to start acting careers. It hasn’t stopped anyone though and now another wrestler might be in line for a huge movie role. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Bray Wyatt Sets His Sights On Some Huge Targets According to Giant Freakin Robot, WWE star Ronda Rousey is up for the role of Thundra in the upcoming “Captain America: New World Order” film. REVIEW: Main Event #1: 33 Years For 33 Million

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? The Main Event #1 Date: February 5, 1988 Location: Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana Commentators: Vince McMahon, Jesse Ventura Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant II. I’m not sure what else there is to say here because that’s all that could possibly matter with this show. This is the long awaited rematch from WrestleMania 3, which featured a bit of a controversial moment where Hogan may not have gotten his shoulder up in time. There is some other stuff around here but do you really think it matters? Let’s get to..

John Cena Returning To WWE For Final Smackdown Of 2022

The champ is back! According to a report from Variety, John Cena will be making his return to WWE on the final Smackdown of 2022. He will be appearing on the December 30 show, which will take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. From the report: This will mark Cena’s second appearance in WWE in 2022, as he previously returned to the sports entertainment giant in June during an episode of “Monday Night Raw” to celebrate his 20 year anniversary with the company. He did not wrestle a match during that appearance, but rather spoke in the ring about his time with WWE while also appearing in backstage segments. In terms of working in the ring, Cena most recently embarked on the “Summer of Cena” tour in 2021, which culminated in a celebrated match against WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the annual “SummerSlam” pay-per-view in August 2021. Cena has had a busy few years in his acting career, most notably starring in the title role of the DC series “Peacemaker” at HBO Max in 2..

Original Plan For Erick Rowan’s Giant Spider Revealed (It’s A Little Better)

There was something in mind. WWE runs a lot of different angles on television in any given year. Some of them are more memorable than others and you will occasionally see one that sticks out for years. That might not always be a good thing though and now we know the original plans behind one of the more infamously strange stories that the company has presented in recent memory. Back in November 2019, Erick Rowan began carrying a cage to the ring with him but no one could see what was inside. Over the next several months, whatever was in the cage proceeded to bite several people, including Rowan himself. The creature was eventually revealed to be a large spider, which was then crushed a week later. During a new interview with the 10 Count podcast, Rowan revealed that Seth Rollins told him the original plan called for the creature to be a pet rat. Rowan liked the idea as he felt it tied into his previous story where he tried to kill Roman Reigns. There is no word on why WWE changed plan..

LOOK: New White Rabbit Clue Points To Former WWE Star (This Is Weird)

Well that’s a turn. WWE has been running quite the mystery in recent weeks, but very little of it has been taking place on television. Instead, WWE has been doing more of an underground story, with incidents taking place at live events and a series of QR codes appearing on television, leading to more clues. There was another one this week and things got even weirder. A new QR code appeared this week on Monday Night Raw, taking you to a site that features a collection of WWE clips which comprise the words “Who killed the world? You did.” It also included coordinates for Prata Nevoso, Italy, the location of the Giant Pink Bunny. In addition, according to Ryan Satin, looking at the site’s source code shows the phrases “No man is ever truly good, no man is ever truly evil”. These were the lyrics to Aleister Black’s WWE theme music, though there is nothing to suggest that Black is on his way back to WWE. WHOAHHH! While searching for the QR code on here, because I was having trouble on m..

REVIEW: Summerslam 2021: Bring The Star Power

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Summerslam 2021 Date: August 21, 2021 Location: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 51,326 Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves It’s time for one of the biggest Summerslams ever, as this is the first major event after the attendance restrictions were lifted after the Coronavirus pandemic. They need a major main event to make that work and that is what they have with John Cena challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. Other than that, we have Bobby La..

Vince McMahon Now Under Federal Investigation; Hastened His Retirement

It had been previously reported that WWE had made a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, announcing that Vince McMahon had paid $14.6 million that were not recorded as company expenses. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the SEC and federal prosecutors have launched inquiries into payments made by McMahon to settle allegations of sexual misconduct. The report states that the payments were made from 2006 through 2022. WWE has said McMahon “has or will pay” all the expenses personally, and it expects to revise previous financial statements going back to 2019 to reflect the payments. WWE also said that an internal board investigation “expects to conclude that its internal control over financial reporting was not effective as a result of one or more material weaknesses.” WWE has lucrative licensing deals with entertainment giants such as Fox Corp. and NBCUniversal, which could be at risk due to these allegations. The company is also seeking new busines..

REVIEW: Summerslam 2021: They’re Back

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Summerslam 2021 Date: August 21, 2021 Location: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves We’re back in front of a full stadium and that could make things interesting. Throw in the fact that this is on a Saturday for once and there is a different energy to the whole thing. We have a full on dream match main event as John Cena is challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title so at least the big match at the end should be good. Let’s get t..

Former WWE Referee Tim White Passes Away At Age 68

We have some sad news to report today as former WWE referee Tim White passed away at the age of 68. This is just one day after another former referee, David Hebner, died at age 73. From WWE.com: For more than two decades, Tim White was a dedicated WWE referee and official. He began his illustrious career in 1985 working with Andre the Giant and as a part-time referee. During his tenure, he was the referee for some of WWE’s biggest matches, including the infamous Hell in a Cell Match between Undertaker and Mankind at King of the Ring 1998. A shoulder injury effectively ended White’s in-ring career, but he still remained a major part of WWE, working behind the scenes as an official and talent agent until 2009. We at Wrestling Rumors extend our deepest condolences to the White family during this difficult time. “GET EXCLUSIVE UPDATES! Hell In A Cell 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

This is one of WWE’s signature gimmick shows, but it also seems to be one where WWE is not that interested in promoting the thing. We have seven matches set for the show and three of them were added in the last six days. That doesn’t exactly give me a lot of confidence going into the show but maybe the work alone can pull it out. This certainly wouldn’t be the first time so let’s get to it. Ezekiel vs. Kevin Owens This has been something of a comedy feud as Owens continues to fall more than a bit short of that time a few months ago when he headlined WrestleMania with Steve Austin. Instead, he is now in the middle of the modern version of Bobby Heenan trying to unmask Giant Machine, which isn’t exactly the most compelling story. It is a story however, though I’m not sure how much longer it can last. I’ll take Ezekiel here, as there is little reason to have Owens win if the feud isn’t continuing. If WWE wants Ezekiel to mean something, he has to win his first big match, which would be ..

Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin Announced For 2022 Hell in a Cell

He might not be happy anymore. Tonight, on Smackdown, it was announced that Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin would renew their rivalry at the 2022 Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. However, the match will now be a No Holds Barred match. From WWE.com: When Madcap Moss stepped out from under Happy Corbin’s shadow by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, no one would have known that the venom between the two Superstars would become this potent. Since turning on each other, Happy Corbin’s show “Happy Talk” has turned into “Angry Talk,” with trophies being stolen and sneak attacks becoming the norm. This led to a showdown at WrestleMania Backlash, where Madcap Moss prevailed by defeating Corbin with a sunset flip. Enraged with his loss, Corbin then gruesomely attacked Moss on the May 13 edition of SmackDown. With Moss’s head trapped in a steel chair, Corbin used the Andre the Giant Battle Royal Trophy to devastating effect, throwing the trophy down on Moss’s neck, thus sending Moss ..

Money In The Bank Plans “Up In The Air” After Huge Change

The more things change. We are rapidly approaching WWE Hell In A Cell and the card is only somewhat put together, with four matches already announced. That being said, WWE still have other shows that are coming up further down the line, though one of them is going up some changes. It turns out that the changes in one area could cause changes to the show itself. Earlier this week, WWE announced that Money In The Bank would be moving from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the same city. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the show’s creative plans are now up in the air, especially when it comes to the company’s top stars. It is not clear if Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Title against Riddle is still taking place. At the same time, there is no word on if Brock Lesnar, who was originally advertised, will still appear now that the show is in an arena. The show takes place on July 2. Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on in WWE at the m..

Move On: WWE Officially Moving Money In The Bank To New Venue

Pack the bags. WWE runs a lot of major events every single year, some of which are among the biggest on the wrestling calendar. The company’s top events are some of the most well known in the industry and as a result, they are able to draw in tends of thousands of fans to the larger events. That is usually the case, but now things will not be taking place as originally planned. WWE has officially announced that July 2nd’s Money In The Bank pay per view will be taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada instead of Allegiant Stadium in the same city. Fans who had purchased tickets to the event in the original venue have been sent an email saying that they will receive a refund and be allowed to purchase tickets to the new venue in advance. WWE’s website has also changed the venue to the new location. The email did not give a reason for the changes, though previous reports cited poor advance ticket sales. WWE sent out the following email to fans that Money in the Ba..

LOOK: Roman Reigns No Longer Advertised For Upcoming WWE Premium Live Event

So much for them? We are just over a week away from WWE’s Hell In A Cell event but that doesn’t mean it is too early to start on the next show. In this case, that would be Money In The Bank, which is taking place on July 2, albeit in a different venue than previously planned. As a result of the change of location, WWE has made another change in the form of the lineup appearing. On Thursday, WWE officially announced that Money In The Bank will be heading to the MGM Grand Garden Arena rather than the previously announced Allegiant Stadium. This also comes with a new promotional poster for the event, which features several new stars. The previous poster featured: AJ Styles Sasha Banks Bianca Belair Drew McIntyre Becky Lynch Charlotte Bobby Lashley Ronda Rousey Brock Lesnar Roman Reigns The new poster features: Drew McIntyre The Street Profits Rhea Ripley Miz Cody Rhodes Bianca Belair Riddle There is no guarantee that any of the wrestlers listed will or will not appear on the show. WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE May Move Money In The Bank Over Poor Ticket Sales

That’s a shakeup. WWE presents a lot of wrestling events at any given time of the year. This can make for some very big events, as the company has the budget and the status to pull something like that off. It doesn’t mean that they are guaranteed successes though, and that might be the case again soon. If it is the case, WWE is going to be making a very big change. According to Brad Shepherd, WWE will be moving July 2nd’s Money in the Bank pay per view event from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, also in Las Vegas, due to poor ticket sales. WWE has yet to announce any such change and as of Thursday morning, still has Allegiant Stadium listed as the show’s venue. In addition, Allegiant Stadium’s Twitter account advertised the show taking place in the venue this week. There is no word on when the announcement will be made. On May 19th, I broke the news on the Brad Shepard UNLEASHED Patreon that #WWE was considering moving to a different venue for Mon..
