AEW Revolution 2023 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team. Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..

It can make for some emotional moments when a team is split up, some of which are more interesting than others. Now we might be on the way to another breakup between a team with a bit of history. One of the most common solutions is to put wrestlers together into groups so they can be on screen at the same time. Occasionally changes still need to be made though and that seems to be the case again. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rebel is no longer being used in the story. Since Baker and Hayter are being presented as babyfaces, there is no need for them to have a third woman. Sonya Deville Announces Engagement To Longtime Girlfriend

Love is in the air! People Magazine is reporting that Sonya Deville proposed to her longtime girlfriend Toni Cassano last week at a wine cellar cave in Towaco, New Jersey. Deville, whose real name is Daria Berenato, was in for a shock after Cassano said ‘yes’ to the proposal. Moments after giving her fianceé a custom-designed ring by Happy Jewelers in front of friends and family, she was shocked when Cassano pulled out an engagement ring of her own. That is a little tricky when one of the matches is going to be a sixty minute Iron Man match, but AEW does know how to throw in a few surprises. Tony Khan has promised a big surprise for tonight so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. All-Atlantic Title: Orange Cassidy vs. Wheeler Yuta Only Cassidy is defending after Yuta wants revenge for Cassidy and the Best Friends forgetting about him. They go technical to start and get some near falls each until Yuta bails to the floor. Back in and Cassidy uses Yuta’s own Seatbelt rollup for two, meaning it’s time for another breather outside. That’s new for her. Back in 2018, Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut and instantly became one of the biggest stars in the company. A year after she made her in-ring debut, she was headlining WrestleMania in the first ever all women’s main event. Rousey is back in WWE after a hiatus and now it turns out that the company has something different planned for her at WrestleMania this year. “The Genius” Lanny Poffo Passes Away At Age 68

We have some sad news to report today as Lanny Poffo, who was known as “The Genius” in WWE has passed away at the age of 68. From WWE.com: The son of Angelo Poffo and younger brother of WWE Hall of Famer “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Lanny Poffo had a style all his own. Arriving in WWE in 1985 alongside his brother, “Leaping” Lanny Poffo was one of the first high-flyers in WWE. While he achieved some success as a fan favorite reading his own poetry and throwing Frisbees to the crowd, he reached new heights as The Genius while managing Mr. Perfect. Lanny had the honor of inducting his brother into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
