AEW Rampage Results – March 10, 2023

Rampage Date: March 10, 2023 Location: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Jim Ross We’re still in California and it’s the fallout Rampage from Revolution. I’m not sure what that is going to mean as you never know what you are going to get on this show. One of the bigger matches announced is Konosuke Takeshita vs. Preston Vance in a match Takeshita could actually win. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti Guevara is more than a bit cocky to start so Andretti takes him down and starts hammering away. Andretti sends him outside and into the steps, setting up a dropkick and moonsault for two back inside. They head outside again with Guevara getting the better of things for a change. Back up and Andretti sends him outside again for a dive and we take a break. We come back with a midair collision leaving both of them down. They slug it out with Andretti hitting a backbreaker into a neckbreaker to ..

AEW Dynamite Results – March 8, 2023

Dynamite Date: March 8, 2023 Location: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Tony Schiavone We’re done with Revolution and that means it is time to start getting ready for Double Or Nothing. That show is only two and a half months away so AEW actually needs to put some things together a little bit faster here. Other than that, we have a lot of fallout to get through so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. All-Atlantic Title: Orange Cassidy vs. Jay Lethal Cassidy is defending and everyone is sent to the back to start. Cassidy takes him down with an armdrag but gets reversed into a rollup for two. Back in and Lethal counters the tornado DDT but can’t get the Figure Four. They go outside with Lethal’s shoulder getting posted before going back inside, where he crotches Cassidy on top. It’s right back to the floor, with Cassidy’s leg being sent into the post and we take a break. Back with Cassidy winning a slugout and grabbing a suplex. Cassidy’s top rope D..

SmackDown Results – February 17, 2023

Smackdown Date: February 17, 2023 Location: Bell Center, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett We are a day away from Elimination Chamber and that means this is likely to be the Sami Zayn show. Tomorrow night the hometown boy Zayn gets his shot at Roman Reigns and I think the people might be a bit interested. Other than that we have Gunther defending the Intercontinental Title against Madcap Moss. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s Usos/Bloodline drama, with Jimmy Uso getting caught lying about Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. Hence Roman Reigns telling the Usos to stay home this week. Natalya/Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler Fallout from Rousey and Baszler hurting both of them. Baszler cranks on Natalya’s arm to start and it’s quickly off to Rousey for another battle over arm control. Shotzi comes in to actually take Rousey down, setting up Cattle Mutilation of all things. Rousey powers out but gets sent outside, allowing Shotzi to hit a pr..

Impact Wrestling Results – January 26, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: January 26, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan The fallout from Hard To Kill continues and we are also on the way to No Surrender. The latter means that we need a new #1 contender and we will have one by the end of the night due to a six way elimination match. Other than that, Bully Ray now seems to have to deal with Mickie James and possibly Frankie Kazarian so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. X-Division Title: Mike Jackson vs. Trey Miguel Jackson, 73 years old, is challenging and gets wristlocked down to start. Some running shoulders and a hiptoss have Miguel down for a change but Miguel punches him in the face. A hammerlock slam puts Jackson down but he avoids the springboard moonsault. An atomic drop sends Jackson outside, where he is fine enough to post Miguel. Back in and Jackson stays on the arm but takes too long with Oldest School, allowing Miguel to pull him down. The Lightning..

Impact Wrestling Results – January 19, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: January 19, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are done with Hard To Kill and that means it is time to go through the fallout period. The big story coming out of the show was Mickie James ending her Last Rodeo by defeating Jordynne Grace to become the new Knockouts Champion. Other than that, Josh Alexander is still the World Champion, having defeated Bully Ray in Full Metal Mayhem. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Jay Briscoe, with Tom Hannifan giving a brief voiceover about thoughts and prayers being with the Briscoe family. Long Hard To Kill recap. Here is Mickie James to get things going. The Last Rodeo may be over but Hardcore Country lives forever…and Bully Ray interrupts. Ray tells her to get out but James tells HIM to get out. Ray: “You were not in the main event of Hard To Kill.” Fans: “YES SHE WAS!” Ray insists that HE was the main event, not he and Josh Alexander. The reality is that no one car..

They Don’t Approve: Backstage Reaction And More On Rumored WWE Sale

There’s more to it. We are in the middle of a huge time of change in WWE and there are likely a lot more changes coming in the near future. This includes changes all the way at the top of the company, as WWE has been teasing a sale in recent weeks. That seemed to be the case earlier this week, but it seems to have been a false alarm. Now we know a bit more about the backstage reaction to what is going on. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Only Room For One: Former WWE Superstar Accused Of Trying To Get Wrestlers Fired Earlier this week, a rumor surfaced saying that WWE had been sold to Saudi Arabia, though the story seems to not be true. Fightful Select has more on the fallout from the rumor, including WWE sources saying no sale to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has been made “as of yet”. As for the roster, several have said they would walk out if the PIF purchased the company. There are also wrestlers who are worried about Vince McMahon returning to WWE Creative, with some believ..

No More: How Vince McMahon Has Been Almost Totally Removed From WrestleMania 39

There’s some fallout. The biggest change in the wrestling world in 2022 was Vince McMahon retiring from WWE after nearly forty years in charge of the company. That is the kind of shakeup that you never see in wrestling and it has caused a variety of changes for WWE. One of the biggest changes is still ongoing though and it involves one of McMahon’s greatest creations. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Seth Rollins Possibly Injured On Monday Night Raw According to Fightful Select, everything that McMahon had in mind for WrestleMania 39 is no longer planned for the show. This includes the ideas of John Cena vs. Logan Paul, Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey and possibly Cody Rhodes challenging for the WWE Title, though that idea was never officially pitched to WWE creative. There have been some matches rumored for WrestleMania, but nothing has officially been announced so far. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2. McMahon has done some things at WrestleMania before. Check out some of hi..

NXT Results – December 20, 2022

NXT Date: December 20, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Booker T., Vic Joseph We are almost done with the year and won’t have another live show until January, as this week and next week are taped in advance. The big story coming out of last week is Roxanne Perez winning the Women’s Title from Mandy Rose, who is already gone from the promotion in a surprise. That is going to lead to some fallout so let’s get to it. We open with a long recap of Perez winning the Women’s Title over Rose last week. Opening sequence. Carmelo Hayes vs. Axiom Trick Williams is here with Hayes. Feeling out process to start with Axiom’s headlock being countered into a headscissors. Back up and Axiom misses a kick to the head but grabs a northern lights suplex for two. Hayes’ springboard cutter misses hard though and we take a break. REVIEW: WWF Houston Live Event – December 10, 1987: The Goodish Old Days

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? WWF House Show Date: December 10, 1987 Location: Sam Houston Coliseum, Houston, Texas Commentators: Bruce Pritchard, Mike McGuirk, Duke Doherty Oh that commentary team is going to kill me today. Not really sure of what to expect on this card as I haven’t seen the details of it. The matches would probably be fallout from Survivor Series and leading up to the Rumble….which doesn’t tell us much at all as that was more or less Andre vs. Hogan and that’s about it. Anyway, I love the late 80s so let’s get t..

What Could Have Been: Here’s What Was Originally Planned For CM Punk After All Out

What could have been. This year has included all kinds of huge changes, twists and turns in the wrestling industry, some of which have been among the biggest in years. AEW is no exception, with the backstage fight after All Out being at the top of their list. The situation was bound to have fallout, and now we know something else about the fallout for a group of wrestlers. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: She’s In: Interesting Story On How Britt Baker Brought Top Star Into AEW Following this year’s All Out, CM Punk and Ace Steele got into a backstage brawl with the Elite, which left everyone involved suspended. Punk’s future with the company is up in the air, but he was stripped of the World Title immediately after the incident. During an appearance on the Sessions with Renee Paquette, Stokely Hathaway revealed that Punk was scheduled to work with the Firm. Hathaway says Punk made it clear that he wanted to work with him, which meant a lot to Hathaway, no matter what happened. The Firm has a ..

Monday Night Raw Results – November 28, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: November 28, 2022 Location: Scope Arena, Norfolk, Virginia Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We’re done with Survivor Series and that means it is time to start the very long road to the Royal Rumble. That could include quite a few things, but we are almost guaranteed some kind of fallout from Sami Zayn officially declaring his allegiance to the Bloodline. Other than that, a lot of the show is wide open so let’s get to it. The Bloodline (minus Roman Reigns) is here and rather pleased with everything that happened on Saturday. Here is Becky Lynch to get things going. She’s glad to be back but thinks she should be with the people. Becky goes into the crowd to high five some fans and meets some people named Bobby and Zachary (the latter of whom puts his arm around her, causing Becky to move away pretty quickly). Becky talks about how she has been gone for four months and is ready to start doing what the Man does. She can’t wait to take care of these new fa..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 13, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: October 13, 2022 Location: Albany Armory, Albany, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the Bound For Glory fallout show, as the biggest pay per view of the year ended with Bully Ray as the next challenger to Josh Alexander. Since there was no way to have him show up on Impact and make a challenge, Ray won a twenty man match by pinning Steve Maclin to get the shot. I’m sure nothing but good will come from this. Let’s get to it. We open with a long recap of Bound For Glory. Here is Josh Alexander to get things going. The fans are rather glad to see Alexander, who talks about how Eddie Edwards said their match was going to be a war. That is what it was, but now the war is over because here he stands, still the World Champion. He is the champion but he has made mistakes. Now he knows that the next challenger is waiting so Bully Ray, get out here right now. Cue Bully, who Alexander welcomes back to the company, but wants to know why Ray helpe..

Kayla Braxton Shuts Down Sami Zayn’s Trolling With Awesome Response

I’d call it a feud. Wrestling is built around the idea of having fans put their money down to see people get into a fight with one emerging victorious. That has been the way the industry works for decades and it is still the case to this day. Some feuds are a little more serious than others though and now a slightly less intense one is getting a new stage after a pretty long hiatus. Back in October 2021, WWE backstage correspondent Kayla Braxton dressed up as Sami Zayn for Halloween and impersonated him on Talking Smack. Earlier this week, Braxton asked who she should be for Halloween this year, prompting a response from Zayn, saying he held grudges. Braxton responded by posting a photo of herself in Zayn’s Honorary Uce shirt and asking “how about now?”. It’s kind of complicated. Check out what started it all and the fallout: [This post contains video, click to play] Guys – Halloween is approaching. In years past, I’ve dressed up as a better @SamiZayn than Sami Zayn and of course l..

KB’s Review: They Did Something

We are living in a brand new reality in wrestling and that is going to take some getting used to over the next….well years probably. Following the retirement (or forcing out, whichever you prefer) of Vince McMahon, WWE is officially in uncharted waters and the boss is not there to steer the ship. That could create a lot of problems, but that certainly wasn’t the case this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the fallout from Summerslam and happened to be one of the best editions of the show that I have seen in a LONG time. The show felt quite a bit different that anything Monday Night Raw had done in years and you could tell that there was a breath of fresh air to the whole thing. That was the case for a lot of reasons and we are going to look at some of the bigger ones this week. Note that this isn’t meant to be exhaustive, but rather the things that stood out to me the most. The biggest change that stood out was the wrestlers were acting more like humans. How often have you ..

NXT Results – July 12, 2022

NXT Date: July 12, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett It’s the week after the Great American Bash and we still have a title on the line this week. This time around, we have the Women’s Title on the line as Roxanne Perez is going to be challenging Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Title in an attempt to become a double champ. In addition, we have the fallout from JD McDonagh attacking NXT Champion Bron Breakker last week. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the Great American Bash. Roxanne Perez has been attacked in the parking lot, with Cora Jade and medics checking on her. Giovanni Vinci vs. Apollo Crews They fight over a lockup to start and neither gets very far. Crews slips out of a slam but gets shouldered down. Some forearms from Crews rattle Vinci though and Crews is up with AJ Styles’ drop down into a dropkick. They head outside with Crews being dropped onto the barricade and we take a break. Back with Crews ma..
