It’s part of his thing. There are certain wrestlers who become popular with the fans for one reason or another, but in some cases their popularity rises after they hang up their boots. It can be rather interesting to see what a wrestler comes up once their career is over. This is certainly true with a former WWE star, who now thinks that his gimmick has been stolen by someone who came along later. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: WWE Possibly NXT Women’s Title, New Champion To Be Crowned Former WWE star Virgil has taken to Instagram, announcing that he has been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He thanked his favorite opponents in the business, including names such as Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and Bret Hart, along with the “million dollar dandy El Dandy”. So that’s it? Retirement is a tricky thing in wrestling, as so many wrestlers will come back for one more match after they have decided to hang up their boots. You have to hang it up sometime. There are all kinds of wrestlers throughout the industry but one thing they have in common is they all have to stop wrestling at some point. Everyone does it eventually. Retirement is a tricky subject in wrestling, as you never know how long it might be before someone finally hangs up their boots. In an industry where everyone can come back for one more match, it is difficult to find someone who truly retires. Several wrestlers say that they are though and that is the case with another former WWE star. Smackdown Date: January 13, 2023 Location: Resch Center, Green Bay, Wisconsin Commentators: Wade Barrett, Michael Cole It’s a big show this week as we have a pair of major matches. This week we’ll be seeing another match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, which should have some Bloodline implications. In addition, Gunther is defending the Intercontinental Title against Braun Strowman. Let’s get to it. Intercontinental Title: Braun Strowman vs. Gunther Strowman is challenging and wearing boots designed by a boy who died in the Waukesha parade shootings. Feeling process to start as Gunther is a bit hesitant to go after him. Strowman manages to send him outside though and the running shoulder sends Gunther into the announcers’ table. We take a break and come back with Strowman getting posted, allowing Gunther to start in on the arm. The armbar goes on but Strowman powers up, only to fall down when the arm gives out. Strowman fights out again and hits a clothesline but the rest of Imper..
He would know best. Retirement is a tricky situation in wrestling as it can be difficult for a wrestler to finally hang up their boots. The problem is that it can be so easy to come back for one more match or appearance, but some are able to go out on their own terms and know when to call it a career. He has a plan. There are all kinds of wrestlers throughout history but only a few become legends of the sport. He’s done. Retirement is a tricky subject for wrestlers as it can be hard to hang up their boots for the final time. While more mainstream athletes have to complete one more season, wrestlers are able to go out and have one more match at almost anytime they want. That makes officially retiring harder than it seems, but one legend seems pretty sure he is out. That’s how you go out. Wrestlers retiring can be a little tricky as they can always be asked to wrestle one more time. There is always the chance that someone could come back and get in the ring, but occasionally you will see someone get to wrestle their last match and hang up their boots for good. That was the case this weekend as a 20+ year career came to an end in a special way. He’s still got it? Retirement is a weird thing in wrestling as you never know when you are going to be seeing a wrestler for the last time. It isn’t like they can come back for another season or have to wrestle a minimum of several matches before they can hang up their boots. Wrestlers can come back for a one off match whenever they like and that is what a former champion is going to do. Former WWE star and current producer Jamie Noble has announced that he will be returning to the ring during WWE’s upcoming live tour. Noble will be wrestling against an opponent to be named on December 11 at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia, Noble’s home state. Noble, 45 years old, has not wrestled since June 8, 2015 and has not had a singles match since January 13, 2013. It was noted that this may be his last ever match for WWE and there is nothing to suggest this is a full time return to the ring. He would know best. Wrestlers have a difficult task when it comes to retirement. Since there is no off season in wrestling, it is easy to keep taking one more match and keep going on and on. Some of them do figure out a way to get away from the ring but you might not always see it coming. Now a current WWE star is having to explain that he is not ready to hang it up just yet. Time to pay it off. Wrestlers have a lot to do to get ready for their time in the ring and sometimes it can be a big overwhelming. It can help to have a little help with some of the more mundane tasks and some wrestlers can get that assistance. Two WWE stars were in one of those roles each as the result of a recent bet, and now we get to see just how far things went. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Rey Mysterio Out Of Action With An Injury WWE has posted a video from backstage at this week’s SmackDown, where Drew Gulak had to do everything that Raquel Rodriguez told him to do throughout the day. Can’t they all just get along? There have been all kinds of stars throughout the history of WWE, with only a small handful reaching the top of the company. It means a lot to see one of those stars becoming all time legends, meaning they are remembered long after they hang up their boots. At the same time though, not all legends get along and that is the case again, with one having something to say about the other. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair took to Twitter this week to bash fell Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield for his history of bullying accusations. Flair said that WWE’s anti-bullying campaign must not apply to Layfield, with Flair naming Joey Styles and “Jason” Roberts (presumably Justin Roberts, who accused Layfield of bullying) as former victims. Layfield currently appears on Monday Night Raw as Baron Corbin’s manager. I Guess The Anti Bullying Program You So Heavily Endorsed Does Not Apply To Bradshaw!! Jason Roberts And Joey Styles!! You have to hang it up eventually. Retirement is a weird concept for a lot of wrestlers as several of them have issues with leaving wrestling. Many of them have often stick around longer than expected as they can keep coming back for one more match here or there. Eventually everyone has to hang up the boots though and that is going to be the case with another former WWE star. According to Fightful, Mike Bucci, formerly known as Nova or Simon Dean in WWE, will be wrestling his final match on December 3. Bucci, 50 years old, will team with Aron Stevens (formerly known as Damien Sandow) and another partner to be named against Matt Cardona, Brian Myers and another partner to be named at Stand Alone Wrestling’s Contest Of Champions in in Tom’s River, New Jersey.
