She’s in. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in the world today and several of them are able to be seen on national television on a regular basis. It can mean a lot for someone to get their chance on a bigger stage and occasionally that is exactly what you get to see. It was the case again this week, as a former WWE star made their official AEW debut with a target already in sight. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Rey Mysterio Wrestles On Late Late Show This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was held in Canada, with TBS Champion Jade Cargill issuing an open challenge to any Canadian. Cargill retained her title over Nicole Matthews in less than a minute, but after the match Taya Valkyrie debuted and attacked Cargill’s associate Leila Grey. Valkyrie is a former NXT star, where she wrestled under the name Frankie Monet, as well as a former Knockouts Champion. AEW President Tony Khan has since announced that Valkyrie is All Elite, suggesting she has signed with the company. Welcome to AEW,..
They’re done. Tag teams have a strange history in WWE as they often feel like they are put together for the sake of being split up. This can cause some rather abrupt endings for teams, as they seemingly go from happy to split in a matter of days. Something similar has happened again in NXT as a team that only started having troubles a few weeks ago have now split up. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: WWE Announces Newest Inductee Into Hall Of Fame Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley split up this week on NXT when Paxley turned on Nile during a match. The two were involved in a #1 contenders triple threat match when Paxley refused to accept Nile’s tag and then attacked her. This comes after a few weeks of taunting from Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre, who have been saying that the two are not a real team. The two had been regularly teaming together since August 2022. They have a history together. Check out the split, plus the two in happier times: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post..
That’s a scary ending. There are all kinds of ways to build up sympathy for a wrestler, all of which can be used for a big moment later. Some of them can be more serious than others, but the question becomes what happens after the initial moment. We saw a more serious one this week at the end of a television show, and now it could be going in a variety of directions. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Double Shot: Monday Night Raw Star And Main Event Officially Set For NXT Stand & Deliver The main event of this week’s NXT saw Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez successfully defend her title against Meiko Satomura. Following the match, the two shook hands before Perez collapsed without being attacked. She was taken out of the arena on a stretcher and put in an ambulance to end the show. There is no word on where this is going or anything to suggest that this is anything more than a storyline. That got serious. Check out the whole ordeal: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contain..
If you know, you know. QT Marshall recently took to Twitter and gave an explanation for why his stable, The Factory, was split up in AEW. According to Marshall: We did some fun stuff. Unfortunately, the amount of Factory hate from the “experts” in wrestling was too much and the group had to disband. We did some fun stuff. Unfortunately, the amount of Factory hate from the “experts” in wrestling was too much and the group had to disband. But keep your eyes on @BigShottyLee @realcolekarter @AaronSoloAEW @Mr_Freakbeast https://t.co/JpUu7z1jN2 — QT Marshall (@QTMarshall) March 5, 2023 It should be noted that it is unknown if he was referring to upper management of the company or the fans when he was referring to “experts”. The Factory was formed on the March 31, 2021 episode of Dynamite, when Marshall, along with Anthony Ogogo, Nick Comoroto and Aaron Solow attacked The Nightmare Family. Editor’s Opinion: Let’s see…the company breaks up a stable because certain “experts” don’t like..
It can happen to anyone. You never want to see a wrestler get hurt but it is something that can happen to anyone at any given time. Wrestlers can go from on a roll to having to sit on the sidelines while they heal up. At the same time, you can also have someone get hurt without even noticing it at the same time. That seems to be the case again, as a WWE star is on the injured list. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Gotcha: Surprise Heel Turn Takes Place At AEW Revolution Last week on Monday Night Raw, Candice LeRae defeated Piper Niven in a match. Following the show, Niven attacked LeRae during a backstage interview and laid her out. This week on Monday Night Raw, it was announced that LeRae had suffered a sprained AC joint in her right shoulder. There is no word on when LeRae will return to WWE TV, though she did wrestle at live events over the weekend. This would suggest that the injury is just part of a storyline. LeRae is quite talented when she is around. Check out what she can do in the ..
To the other side. While there are all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster, one of the most important distinctions between them is whether they fight for good or bad. This has been the reality in wrestling for decades and continues to be to this day. It makes a difference when someone changes from one side to the other and now it has happened again in a rather violent way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Two Sports: Current WWE Star Hopes To Compete In Boxing Match This weekend at AEW Revolution, Jamie Hayter successfully defended the Women’s Title against Saraya and Ruby Soho. Following the match, Soho attacked Hayter and Britt Baker, aligning herself with Saraya and Toni Storm. This comes after weeks of the two groups feuding, with Soho sitting on the sidelines. The turn marks the first time that Soho has been a villain in AEW. Soho can be a force. Check out what she has done in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post cont..
It wasn’t over. WWE presents all kinds of wrestling events every year, many of which are aired on national television. At the same time, there are several events that only take place in front of the crowd, with the WWE cameras not rolling. Sometimes you will get to see some of the footage shot by fans though, and that was the case this week, with some big names featured. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Silver Screen: John Cena Set For Villain Role In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film This weekend, Roman Reigns made a rare appearance at a WWE live event, defeating Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following the match, as shown in footage shot by a fan, Reigns said that Zayn was going to pay for his past actions and then attacked him again. Reigns had previously beaten Zayn in a title match at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was a brutal one. They’re in a time crunch. We are less than four weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to get everything left over set up for the card. It is difficult to get some things together and it can be made even worse when a problem takes place out of nowhere. That seems to be the case again, as a star who is probably going to be on the card is injured. Now we know some more about the situation. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Other Side: MJF Allegedly Said He’s “Looking Forward To Being” In WWE In 2024 This week on SmackDown, Ronda Rousey appeared with her arm in a sling after being attacked by Natalya and Tegan Nox earlier in the night. According to PWTorch.com, Rousey aggravated a prior injury, meaning that the planned tag team match between Rousey/Shayna Baszler vs. Nox/Natalya had to be changed. As of now, Rousey is still expected to wrestle at WrestleMania, though she has not had a match announced yet. A healthy Rousey is a force. Check out what should be at WrestleMania..
Ouch? With less than a month to go before WrestleMania 39, almost anything that happens on a WWE show is going to have some kind of ramifications on the upcoming big nights. Most of the stories have already been started but there is plenty of time for more things to happen on the way there. Another of those things might have happened this week and that could tie into a bigger story. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: What’s Next? Goldberg’s WWE Contract Is A Bit Strange At The Moment This week on SmackDown, a video showed Ronda Rousey being attacked earlier in the day by Tegan Nox and Natalya. As a result, Rousey’s arm was in a sling as she accompanied partner Shayna Baszler for her match against Nox later in the night. There is nothing to indicate that this is anything more than a storyline. This comes as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has said there will be many more “twists and turns” before the Women’s Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania. While the match has yet to be announced, Baszler ..
One way to do it. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler as they can put someone out of action for any length of time. There are all kinds of injuries, but there are also various ways to write someone off television with those injuries. We saw a bit of a unique one earlier this week as an NXT star was taken off television, but things might not have been what they seemed. Wendy Choo was written off NXT TV earlier this week, having been attacked in the parking lot. There is no word on who attacked Choo or how long she is expected to be out of action. According to F4WOnline.com, Choo is out of action with a legitimate injury, though she is not expected to be out of action for very long. Choo last wrestled on the February 16 edition of Main Event. This is the second time that NXT has used a parking lot attack this year to explain a legitimate injury, after Nikkita Lyons was attacked as well. Choo is a unique star when she is around. Check out her attack and ..
That explains some things. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be out of the ring and a good number of them are health related. If someone is injured, there is very little that they can do to get back in the ring without risking a much bigger problem. Such an injury can explain a lot of absences and now we know about another such injury that is preventing an expected return. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s A Dangerous Place: NXT Star Attacked In Parking Lot By Unknown Assailant Back in May 2022, Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out on WWE vacating the Women’s Tag Team Titles in the process. While Banks has gone on to wrestle in New Japan Pro Wrestling under the name Mercedes Mone, Naomi has not been seen in wrestling. During a virtual signing with Golden Ring Collectibles, Ariane Andre, formerly known as Cameron and Naomi’s former tag partner, revealed that Naomi is recovering from shoulder surgery. There is no word on when the surgery took place or Naomi’s recovery time. It is ..
They did it again. There are all kinds of ways to write someone off of a wrestling television show, with an injury being one of the most common. Announcing that a wrestler is hurt can take a story in several ways, including the option of someone specific causing the injury. That is a favorite in NXT and now we have seen it again, with another wrestler being attacked. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Missing In Action: Speculation On Matt Riddle’s WWE Status This week on NXT, Wendy Choo was attacked in the NXT parking lot by an unknown assailant. Katana Chance announced that Choo had been found in the parking lot, where she was seen holding her arm. There is no word on whether Choo will miss time, or when she will be back if she does. This comes about a month after Nikkita Lyons was attacked in the parking lot, after which she announced that she had torn her ACL and would be out of action for roughly a year. That’s a dangerous parking lot. Check out some of the attacks there: [This post conta..
That’s longer than expected. There are certain reasons that a wrestler has to be taken off of television at times and some of them are a lot more serious than others. Occasionally it is due to a health reason that needs to be addressed, meaning they need to go away for the time being. That seemed to be the case with a WWE star last year, but now things are getting a bit more complicated. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Have A Point: WWE Reportedly Very High On This New NXT Star Back in December 2022, Matt Riddle was written off of WWE TV by an attack at the hands of Solo Sikoa. This was reportedly done due to Riddle failing a drug test and entering rehab. Shortly after Riddle’s injury was announced on WWE TV, WWE said he would be out of action for six weeks, but over eleven weeks have passed since then. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there is no word on why WWE is not using Riddle. It was speculated that they might not have anything for him for Wrestlemania or that WWE did not wa..
She has their attention. There are so many stars on the WWE roster that it can be difficult for someone to stand out. That isn’t even including the NXT roster, which has its own group of wrestlers who can do some very impressive things as well. It takes something special to stand out but now a certain star has caught the attention of WWE officials and her future is looking bright. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Violent Attack Takes Place After Monday Night Raw According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is “very very high” on Sol Ruca, viewing her as a potential star in the making. Ruca signed with WWE and reported to the Performance Center in March 2022, making her television debut in July, following her first ever match in June. Ruca’s finishing move, a backflip cutter out of the corner called the Sol Snatcher, went viral after she debuted it in December. There is nothing to suggest that she will be promoted to the main roster at any point in the near future. WWE might be on to some..
They aren’t done yet. WWE has a lot of television time in any given week and they often fill it with a good deal of action. That is the best way to advance storylines, but there is often more stuff that needs to be done after the show is over. You will occasionally see something take place after the show is over, which was the case this week as the violence continued after Monday Night Raw. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: What Could Have Been: Here Are WWE’s Original (And Different) John Cena WrestleMania Plans WWE has posted a video to its YouTube page showing Piper Niven attacking Candice LeRae after Monday Night Raw. LeRae was talking about how important her win over Niven had been and was being asked about Nikki Cross’ involvement when Niven attacked. Niven also told LeRae that she was coming for Cross. Cross’ distraction allowed LeRae to roll up Niven for the pin earlier in the night. Things got violent. Check out the attack, plus what led us here: [This post contains video, click to p..
