Several Names Added to Both “Wrestlemania” Battle Royals

Andre would be proud. With “Wrestlemania XXXIV” less than three weeks away, it’s time to start filling in the final spots on the card. This includes adding names to the men’s and women’s battle royals, the former of which was only confirmed this week. Several names were added this week on “Smackdown Live”.
They’ve fought before and they’ll fight again in New Orleans.

This week, Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger were both added to the men’s battle royal. In addition, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Naomi and Becky Lynch were all confirmed for the Women’s Wrestlemania Battle Royal. These are the first women to be confirmed for the match. How did these names get in? Find out here.
Opinion: It’s too early to say who is going to win these matches but at the same time there aren’t many chances left to fill in the lineups. There are two weeks left of each show and there are less than ten names announced each. With so many names left to be ad..

Who Was Deleted in Ultimate Deletion?

Hopefully he doesn’t fade away. Last year at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”, the Hardys made their return to WWE for the first time in several years. The most asked question was what would be happening with the Broken Universe. After a long delay, the characters debuted a few months back, and tonight it was the grand culmination with the Ultimate Deletion. So who was deleted?
And so it begins.

In the match tonight, Matt Hardy defeated Bray Wyatt with a Twist of Fate after a distraction from Jeff Hardy, who made a very brief cameo. After the match, Wyatt was shoved into the Lake of Reincarnation but disappeared. With no body to be found, Matt declared that Wyatt had been deleted. You can read tonight’s full results right here.
Opinion: This went about as well as you could have asked it to. The wrestling wasn’t the point as everything was about the violence and insanity. It wasn’t quite as over the top as the Impact Wrestling versions but that has..

Who Will Induct the Dudley Boyz Into the Hall of Fame?

This totally reeks of awesomeness. Earlier this year, the Dudley Boyz were announced as part of the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame class. The induction itself is long overdue but it also brought up the question of who would be inducting them. That question was answered today with a surprise announcement.
The team deserves this.

On today’s episode of “Busted Open Radio”, host Bubba Ray Dudley offered the honor of inducting he and D-Von Dudley to Edge and Christian. During the show, Edge called in and accepted the honor. The two teams feuded for several years in WWE with each winning the World Tag Team Titles from the other. Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Returning, First Names Confirmed

Say yeah! Back in 2014, WWE decided to pay tribute to Andre the Giant with the establishment of an annual battle royal in his honor at Wrestlemania. The match’s winner’s success has been hit and miss, but it’s enough to have brought the match back for a fifth year. We even know two names participating in the match.

This week on “Monday Night Raw”, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was confirmed to be returning again. After winning a match, the Revival announced their entrances into the match, making them the first two names confirmed. Over the years, the match has featured a different number of participants, ranging from twenty to thirty three in various years.
You can read this week’s full results here.
Opinion: This was a pretty necessary move as there are so many people on the roster with either nothing to do or not enough time on the show to fill in the gaps. The Revival would be two of those people as the Tag Tea..

Update on AJ Styles’ Injury and Status

Tell me this isn’t going to knock it off. One of the biggest matches set for “Wrestlemania XXXIV” is the Smackdown World Title match between champion AJ Styles and #1 contender Shinsuke Nakamura. This is the closest thing to a dream match that “Smackdown Live” has at the moment but things might be in jeopardy.
They had a few things to say to each other last week.
[This post contains video, click to play]

According to PWInsider.com, Styles is currently dealing with an injury, though the nature of the injury and how bad it may be isn’t currently known. Styles only briefly worked over the weekend, running in to save Nakamura rather than teaming with him. He was backstage at this week’s “Monday Night Raw” to undergo a medical evaluation from the WWE medical staff. Styles was in action as recently as last week
Opinion: The show needs this match and maybe Styles will be healed up in three weeks. It’s not like he needs to wrestle heading into the match and just having him stand in the..

Update on Jeff Hardy’s Return From Injury

That doesn’t sound like fading away to me. At the moment, Matt Hardy is rolling with the Broken Universe in WWE. The character has found new life with a bigger budget of the idea founded in Impact Wrestling, but there’s a piece missing. Jeff Hardy has been out since September but that might not be the case much longer.
Maybe the return can match this one.

According to a new report from PWINsider.com, Jeff may be returning to the ring sooner rather than later. In recent weeks, Jeff has been training at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. He has finished physical therapy but may have to deal with legal issues from his recent DWI arrest. Jeff appeared in Ultimate Deletion on this week’s “Monday Night Raw”, though it was filmed before his arrest. Opinion: I hope he’s back in a hurry as there are several ways he could go. Whether it’s the Broken Universe or a singles run away from his brother, Jeff seems to have one more run left in h..

Video: Ronda Rousey Appears in Dark Segment At “Raw”

This could boost her reputation. Ronda Rousey is the biggest newcomer in WWE this year and is ready for a major match at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. However, she still needs some time both in the ring and on the microphone but she might not be ready to do that on camera. That’s why dark segments exist, even if they’re put on YouTube.
First victim please.

During this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw”, Rousey appeared before the live crowd in a brief segment. Before she could say much though, Dana Brooke interrupted and said she wasn’t impressed with Rousey. Things got a little bit physical and Rousey was left standing tall in short order. Opinion: This is better than having Rousey not appear, especially when she’s advertised for so many shows. Just having her appear before the live crowd is a good idea, especially when she gets to do something physical. It’s a dip of her toe into the water, but she’s about to be thrown all the way in very so..

Major Update on WWE Saudi Arabia Show, Multiple Title Matches

Just how long is this show? Earlier this month, a special show in Saudi Arabia was announced, featuring the largest Royal Rumble in history. With fifty wrestlers included in the match, this could be one of the biggest matches in a very long time. As it turns out though, there’s a lot more to the show than that.
WWE has been to the country before:

As announced on WWE.com, the show will also feature seven championship matches, including both World Titles, both midcard Titles, the Cruiserweight Title and both Tag Team Titles. The Women’s Titles won’t be on the line due to cultural restrictions in the country. There is currently no official word on if the show will air on the WWE Network. How will it compare to this year’s Royal Rumble?
Opinion: Sweet goodness I hope this makes the Network. That’s a top level card, though I’m a bit worried about the show lasting longer than a Wrestlemania. Unless the entrances for the Rumble are a minute ea..

Here Are the Top Ten Best Women’s Matches in WWE History

With ‘WrestleMania’ season in full swing, WWE.com is not slacking with their impressive list articles. The latest of these are the top ten best women’s matches in WWE history. Here they are! 10: 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble Match
A woman in the Royal Rumble used to be a special attraction. Now it’s the main attraction. The maiden attempt at an all-female Rumble turned out to be both entertaining and profound, as the Superstars of today (Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch), yesterday (Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly, Jacqueline) and tomorrow (Ember Moon, Kairi Sane) battled for a piece of history. The undefeated Asuka last eliminated Nikki Bella to win the match and set up a title bout against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. That the victor’s nickname is The Empress of Tomorrow is entirely fitting. If nothing else, the Women’s Royal Rumble was a proclamation that the future is now. — ANTHONY BENIGNO

Tyler Lemco’s High Risk Maneuver: The Shockmaster’s Debut 1993

In this episode of “High Risk Maneuver”, Tyler Lemco recounts one of the most infamous debuts in professional wrestling history, that of “The Shockmaster”. During a live segment hosted by Ric Flair at the Clash of the Champions XXIV, Sid Vicious and Harlem Heat confront Sting and Davey Boy Smith. They angrily demand to know the identity of the mystery partner who will replace an injured Road Warrior Hawk at Fall Brawl. Sting proclaims that “Our partner will shock the world because he is none other than The Shockmaster!” With a burst of pyrotechnics, Fred Ottman, sporting a glitter-encrusted Storm Trooper’s helmet, breaks through a wall and promptly stumbles and falls on his face. As the other wrestlers are heard laughing in the background, Ottman picks himself up, puts on his helmet and all attempt to save The Shockmaster’s irretrievably doomed debut.
Here is Tyler Lemco’s entertaining recollection in this episode of “High Risk Maneuver”:

Daniel Bryan Says He Could Wrestle at “Wrestlemania”

Not so fast my goat faced friend? This year’s “Wrestlemania” is being held in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the sight of “Wrestlemania XXX”. On that night four years ago, Daniel Bryan ascended to the top of the wrestling world but it was a sharp fall soon after that. However, there may be a chance for a return to the ring.
You might remember this one.

Bryan was recently interviewed by the National (out of Abu Dhabi) where he spoke on the upcoming Wrestlemania season. This includes Bryan speaking about trying to return to the ring and an update on being cleared by a variety of doctors. Bryan is a candidate to team with Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Here are some highlights with transcription courtesy of 411mania.com: On Possibly Participating in the Match
“I don’t know and I don’t think they know. I think it all depends on whether or not I get cleared. As of this moment, as of today, I am not cleared by WWE. I have done..

Latest Hall of Fame Inductee Possibly Revealed (Spoiler)

Somebody’s gonna get some nice moments. With three weeks to go before “Wrestlemania XXXIV”, most of this year’s class of the WWE Hall of Fame have already been announced. There are already eight inductees announced but why not add one more. In this case, it’s quite a big one.
This was a big part of why he’s going in.
[This post contains video, click to play]

As reported by Wrestlinginc.com, a new Wrestlemania magazine shows Mark Henry as part of this year’s Hall of Fame class. While not confirmed, there is a good chance that this will be announced tomorrow as all other inductees have been announced on Monday. Henry has been in WWE since 1996 and is a one time World Heavyweight Champion. Henry recently had to address whether or not he’s retired.
