WrestleMania 36 Part 1 Live Coverage And Results

Wrestlemania XXXVI Part 1
Date: April 4, 2020
Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentator: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield
Host: Rob Gronkowski
Sweet goodness that does not feel right. I’m not sure what to expect tonight because WWE didn’t feel the need to tell us what was going to be taking place on either night. This show is going to have about a hundred asterisks in the history books and that’s perfectly fine, but it doesn’t make things any less disappointing (not that it’s WWE’s fault). Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Cesaro vs. Drew Gulak Gulak takes him down by the arm to start but Cesaro powers up with a backbreaker to get out of trouble. That earns him a LeBell Lock (which Cole calls a Crossface) to send Cesaro outside so Gulak dives on him for a bonus. Back in and Cesaro’s arm gets snapped across the top rope and a clothesline puts him on the floor again. Cesaro gets sent into the steps but he’s able to uppercut Gulak out of the air back inside for two..

WWE Announces Two WrestleMania Kickoff Show Matches

Of course there’s more time. We have finally reached WrestleMania weekend and that means the biggest night(s) of wrestling all year long. While we don’t know what is going to take place on each specific night as WWE has not announced a card for either show, we do know a little something: there are going to be A LOT of matches all around. This includes something that wasn’t even announced before the weekend.
One of the biggest parts of WrestleMania is how many places are broadcasting the show. Of course the is the WWE Network, but we also have the FOX App, plus regular pay per view. In other words, there is no excuse to not be able to see the show, meaning WWE is promoting the heck out of it. What better way to do that than with some extra material that you won’t see on the pay per view?
WWE has announced a pair of Kickoff Show matches for WrestleMania 36, with one match airing per night. First up, Drew Gulak will face Cesaro on Saturday night while Natalya and Liv Morgan will square ..

WWE Confirms Last Minute Change To WrestleMania Title Match

Better late than never. There is a lot taking place at this weekend’s WrestleMania 36 and that means there is not much time left to hammer out all of the details. This gets even more complicated when you consider that the show has already been taped, meaning no more changes can be made. That doesn’t apply to the build though, and WWE has made a last minute adjustment.
This year’s WrestleMania is going to be defined by everything that happened because of the spread of the Coronavirus. The disease has swept around the world and changed so many things in a variety of places. This includes the world of wrestling, where WWE is not exactly thrilled with the idea of having its performers getting sick. As a result, a change needed to be made and they are finally acknowledging it.
WWE has confirmed that the Miz will not be able to participate in this year’s WrestleMania. As a result, the SmackDown Tag Team Titles will now be defended in a three person triple threat ladder match with John Morr..

Ric Flair is Proud of WWE for Hosting WrestleMania 36

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was recently interviewed by Mike Greenberg on ESPN’s “Get Up,” where he discussed the upcoming WrestleMania 36 show and the company’s decision to host it, despite the Coronavirus pandemic.
You can see the entire interview below:

Flair said that he is proud of WWE for taping the show and for going on it. He said that it is important that people have live events to look forward to because there is nothing but replays on sports networks right now. He said that it will give people a reason to laugh and smile about during this difficult time.
With regards to there being no audience for the shows, The Nature Boy said that Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon will make it seem like there are people there. This will be done through video packages and production techniques, and the athletes will perform as if there was a stadium full of people. He also said that on Monday morning, the sports shows will be talking about WrestleMania and not Tom Brady, The Buccaneers or Tu..

Triple H Discusses Why WrestleMania 36 Is Going On Despite Coronavirus Pandemic

WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, Triple H, was recently interviewed by ESPN’s “Golic and Wingo,” to help promote the upcoming WrestleMania 36 show this weekend.
You can see the interview in its entirety below:

Triple H began by saying that the world needs entertainment more than anything right now, which is the main reason why the company has decided to go on with the show. They also discussed one of their performers pulling out of the show, due to health and safety concerns, and said that deciding not to participate in WrestleMania 36 would not be held against them. The Game also said that they have taken extreme caution to ensure the safety of the performers, staff, and crew for the event. This includes bringing in talents in waves, screening who enters the Performance Center, wiping things down and cleaning everything to make sure they are compliant with CDC recommendations.
The topic of blowback from the fans was brought up, regarding hosting the ..

VIDEO: WWE Storyline Takes Surprise Turn (WrestleMania Implications)

That’s a step forward. I know things have been a little all over the place lately and WWE’s main television shows have been little more than background noise and great promos, but there are still storylines going on. Some of these started before everything changed and they still need some kind of a payoff. While we did not get a payoff this week, we did get a big step forward.
Over the last few weeks on WWE television, the shows’ video feeds have been hacked and a circle of lights have appeared. No one seemed to notice and little has come of it so far. It is not clear who it is, but there is a theory that it might be Mustafa Ali as his glove has a similar circle on the back. This week’s SmackDown did not reveal who was behind the hacking, but we did see something.
It’s a step forward. Check out what happened to move things in a different direction:

Late in the show, Dolph Ziggler was attacking Tucker when the feed was hacked again. This time the phrase “The Truth Will Be Heard” app..

Vince McMahon’s Radical Idea For WrestleMania 36

You can picture him doing this. We are less than a day away from WrestleMania 36 and that means we are coming up on one of the most unique shows in wrestling history. Nothing has ever been done like this before and it is going to be one of the most important events on the WWE calendar. While the show in the empty Performance Center is going to look strange, it could have been a lot stranger.
While we are finally at the final home stretch for WrestleMania 36, it has been a long road to get here. It had not been clear what is going to happen with all kinds of ideas being thrown out there. Some of these ranged from what felt like good ideas to complete insanity, but now we know that Vince McMahon had an even more out there idea which would have certainly been memorable.
Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reports that despite the issues with the Coronavirus, McMahon still wanted to hold WrestleMania in the empty Raymond James Stadium. The show was eventually moved to the Performance Ce..

FOX And USA Unhappy With Recent WWE Decision

You don’t want to make the bosses mad. WWE is in a weird place at the moment but they certainly know how to get people to give them money. With so many television networks desperate for programming that offers stronger ratings, wrestling is in strong demand. That is the case with FOX and USA, both of whom have paid WWE a fortune for live programming. However, someone else is getting in on the act and the two networks aren’t happy.
Due to the spread of the Coronavirus, professional and amateur sports have all but stopped cold in the world these days. That doesn’t leave places like ESPN much to do, but they do have a way out with professional wrestling. WWE has a lot of video available and ESPN has seemed interested in airing a lot of it. That might not be the best move for WWE though and it might be a bit of a problem.
According to Sports Illustrated, FOX and USA were not happy with WWE allowing ESPN to air WrestleMania on three straight Sundays, as FOX wanted the shows to air on FOX ..

How WWE Deals With Possible WrestleMania 36 Spoilers (It’s Rather Extreme)

That’s a hard punishment. WrestleMania is coming up in less than a day and that is the kind of thing that should give you a great feeling. Whether you like where things are going with WWE or not, there is no denying the fact that the show is something special, even if the details of this year’s edition is not going to be quite the same. However, for some people involved, there is a big threat hanging over them.
This year’s WrestleMania is one of the most unique shows in the history of wrestling. If nothing else, having the show taped goes against all of the ideas that WWE has followed for years. It’s all they have at the moment though and that’s what we are having to deal with at the moment. That also leads to the possibility of results leaking out and it turns out that WWE is not too keen on that option.
According to Sports Illustrated, WWE will fire anyone who leaks results about the WrestleMania tapings from last week. There were only a handful of people present at every taping se..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 35: The Feel Good Stories

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Wrestlemania XXXV
Date: April 7, 2019
Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Attendance: 82,265
Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips
America the Beautiful: Yolanda Adams
We’re back to this show after a year away and I’m not sure what to think about this one. I wasn’t in the stadium for this one and for once that is making me remember the show a little bit better. This whole thing is centered around a few matches, as Wrestlemania always tends..

Strive againstMania 36 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We’re finally here. It’s that time of year again and as weird as it is to have a two day Wrestlemania, I’m going to need two days to preview this whole thing. This is one of those VERY stacked cards (read as Wrestlemania) and that means we are going to be seeing a lot, albeit without any fans in front of them. This could mean a lot but we’re coming into this so differently that I’m only going to be able to guess how some of these things are going. Let’s get to it.
Note that I’m not going to try to guess which matches are on which night so these are in no particular order.
Elias vs. King Corbin Yeah let’s just get this one out of the way early. It’s one of those matches that you have nightmares about but at the same time, I’m almost curious to see how bad this can actually be. This is your nightmare show of the year and my goodness it could be incredible in one way or….well ok there isn’t another on there because this isn’t going to work, but that might be the case for another reason…
