So I guess he’s done? With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be difficult to figure out a way to stand out. The wrestlers are talented and there are all kinds of people who can do a variety of things, but only a few are able to connect with the audience in a special way. One of the more popular wrestlers with that ability might not be around the company for a little while.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a Face Of The Revolution ladder match with eight stars. Early in the match, Eddie Kingston and Ortiz brawled off with commentary saying they had to be separated. Following the show, AEW aired a video, showing Kingston being interviewed. Kingston’s entire statement was “I quit AEW. Peace.” There is no word on where this is going.

That’s worth celebrating. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and they portray several different characters. Watching any given WWE show offers a big mixture of different looks, styles and personae, but it can be fascinating to see them mix together. One thing they all have in common is that they do other things once the cameras stop rolling, which was the case in a big way recently.

As shown in a series of photos on Instagram, WWE Superstar Solo Sikoa has announced that he got married over the weekend. The photos include shots of the Usos and Naomi at the ceremony. There is no word on any other wrestlers possibly being in attendance. Solo is part of the Anoa’i wrestling family, along with current WWE Superstars the Usos and Roman Reigns.

That would be a change. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the return of Vince McMahon to WWE. McMahon has taken his former role as Chairman of the Board, with the reported goal of selling the company. This has led to the question of whether McMahon will return to the creative side of the company. Now we might know a little more about such a change.
Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar accepted MVP’s offer of a match against Omos at WrestleMania 39. The match would be a first time pairing as Lesnar and Omos have never faced each other. According to WrestleVotes on Twitter, the match was McMahon’s idea, who pushed it through and made it happen. WWE and its executives have consistently said that McMahon has no impact on the creative side of the company.

He has a job. There are all kinds of people who work together to make a wrestling show work. While you see many of them in front of the camera, there are several who work backstage and handle several responsibilities that can help make a show work that much more smoothly. Now we know a bit more about one of the most important names backstage in WWE.

Earlier this year, William Regal returned to WWE and was named the Vice President of Global Talent Development. According to PWInsider.com, Regal has several responsibilities with WWE. This includes taking notes on every match at a television taping and talking to the wrestlers about how to make their matches better, including being “more realistic from an in-ring perspective”. Regal also works with the wrestlers on their selling and physicality.

It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of problems that can take place in a wrestler’s life and those just involve what happens with their jobs. In addition to whatever can happen while they are at work, there is also the issue of problems that take place elsewhere. Now a WWE star is dealing with one of those issues and it is more than a bit serious this time.

According to TMZ.com, WWE star Sonya Deville was arrested on February 19 in Atlantic City, New Jersey on a charge of possession a firearm without a New Jersey permit. A valet reportedly found the gun and called authorities, leading to the arrest. Deville has possessed the weapon since she was stalked by a fan in August 2020. The gun is registered to her in Florida but not in New Jersey and Deville has a hearing scheduled for later this month. What could have been. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in WWE over the last several years and a lot of that has been due to the roster the company has put together. There have been several stars who have become much bigger deals than ever before and the results have been a success. Occasionally you will see a star come back from the past and now another is saying she was going to be back in a big way.

He’s good in the role. There have been almost countless wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and a good many of them do not make the biggest impact. A small number do manage to become stars though and some of those move on to become some of the biggest names in wrestling history. WWE still manages to have some of them appear from time to time, and that will be the case again next week.

Over the last several weeks, NXT’s Grayson Waller has been having issues with WWE official Shawn Michaels. Waller has constantly berated Michaels and caused him one problem after another. Last week on NXT, Waller issued a challenge for Michaels to meet him on the Grayson Waller Effect at Roadblock on March 7. This week, Michaels said that while he knew Waller would only get worse and that it was against his better judgment, he would appear on the show.

Welcome back. A wrestler returning from an injury can be one of the more exciting things to take place on a wrestling show. If someone has been gone for a long time, it can be quite the moment to have them back. You never know when you might see someone pop back up, and sometimes they are thrown right into the middle of something important. That was the situation this week.

This week’s edition of NXT opened with North American Champion Wes Lee issuing an open challenge for a title match, with the first wrestler getting into the ring getting the shot. Dabba-Kato almost made it to the ring first but Apollo Crews cut him off, allowing the returning Nathan Frazer to get inside for the title shot. This was Frazer’s first match since Halloween Havoc on October 22, 2022. Back on November 8, Frazer revealed that he was waiting on medical clearance from an undisclosed injury. We are about a month away from Stand & Deliver and the card is starting to take shape. While nothing has happened yet and Roadblock is next week, you can probably figure out a lot of what is coming. One thing that is not entirely clear is what will be going on with Shawn Michaels and Grayson Waller, but maybe we can find out some more tonight. Let’s get to it.
We open with a huge brawl of people trying to get to the ring to answer Wes Lee’s open challenge for a North American Title shot. Dabba-Kato almost makes it in but Apollo Crews jumps him. Nathan Frazer returns and gets inside for the title shot.
North American Title: Nathan Frazer vs. Wes Lee Lee is defending. Frazer headlocks him down to start and holds him there for a good bit. That’s broken up and Lee nips to his feet for a standoff. Lee takes Frazer down but they’re right back up with lee being sent outside…

That explains some things. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be out of the ring and a good number of them are health related. If someone is injured, there is very little that they can do to get back in the ring without risking a much bigger problem. Such an injury can explain a lot of absences and now we know about another such injury that is preventing an expected return.

Back in May 2022, Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out on WWE vacating the Women’s Tag Team Titles in the process. While Banks has gone on to wrestle in New Japan Pro Wrestling under the name Mercedes Mone, Naomi has not been seen in wrestling. During a virtual signing with Golden Ring Collectibles, Ariane Andre, formerly known as Cameron and Naomi’s former tag partner, revealed that Naomi is recovering from shoulder surgery.
