WrestleMania 38 May Be Very Different Than Previously Planned

Spread it out. There are big wrestling shows and then there is WrestleMania. It is the biggest wrestling show of the year and that is not likely to change for a long time. WrestleMania has been around for nearly forty years and WWE mostly has the formula down to a science. There is still some room to tinker though and that seems to be the case again next year.
According to Fightful Select, WWE has begun internal discussions of making WrestleMania 38 into a two night event, which would be held April 2 and April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. WWE had previously announced the event for just April 3 and there is still a chance that it only lasts one night. The WWE roster is said to unanimously behind the idea of a two night event. This would be the third straight year WrestleMania would be held over two nights.
WWE has done this before. Check out the two night formula and how WrestleMania looks in the stadium:

Vince McMahon To Be Directly Hands On With New NXT

There it goes. The recent changes to the WWE roster have shaken up all kinds of things around the company and it does not seem like they will be changing anytime soon. Some of the biggest changes have been taking place in NXT, mainly due to the insistence of Vince McMahon. It turns out that there is another major change coming and McMahon himself will be involved.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, McMahon and Bruce Prichard will produce NXT when it relaunches on September 14. The show will be shifting back to how it was in the original era of the Full Sail University shows with a new logo and new theme song. There will also be a focus on younger talent and homegrown stars with less attention paid to independent wrestling names.
Call it a flashback. Check out what NXT is heading back to:

Chris Jericho Vs MJF At AEW ‘All Out’: Retirement, Or Swerve?

Chris Jericho’s upcoming match against MJF is currently one of the hot topics AEW fans are discussing online. Much of that discussion centers on the stipulation that exists with the bout. If Jericho loses, he will supposedly never wrestle in AEW again.
This stipulation doesn’t really come as a surprise. Longtime fans know that when it comes to Chris’s career, he has more years behind him than ahead of him. It’s only a matter of time before the pro wrestling great calls it a day and hangs up the boots. So is that day coming on September 5?

A Stacked Card There is admittedly more than enough on the All Out card to keep the fans talking. The in-ring return of CM Punk against Darby Allin is the hottest story of the moment and the anticipation for it is driving the event for many fans.
Of course, there’s also the Steel Cage Match pitting The Young Bucks against The Lucha Brothers for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Jon Moxley will face N..

He’s Done: CM Punk Officially Announces Retirement (Just Not How You Think)

Everyone does it eventually. Wrestlers are not like most people, but they are like most athletes. As amazing as they may seem most of the time, at some point they are not going to be able to get in the ring any longer. That means something has to change, and their career is going to end in one way or another. We saw that again with a wrestler, but not in the way you might think.
According to MMA Fighting, AEW’s CM Punk has officially announced his retirement from the UFC and mixed martial arts. Punk has been removed from the USADA drug testing pool and will be moving back into his professional wrestling career. Punk fought twice in the UFC, losing via submission at UFC 203 in September 2016 and fighting to a no contest at UFC 225 in 2018. There had been nothing to suggest that Punk would be fighting again prior to his announcement.
Punk did indeed try. Check out some of his MMA work, plus his pretty awesome return to wrestling:

VIDEO: AEW Announces Updated Lineup For All Out Casino Battle Royal

You need to fill in the gaps. We are less than a week away before AEW All Out and most of the card seems to have already been set in stone. You know what matches you are going to see on Sunday night and the card does look to be fairly strong. However, there is still time to make some adjustments, especially since one of the matches has multiple entrants. Now we know some more of those names.
At All Out, AEW will present one of its signature matches with the Casino Battle Royal. Twenty women will enter the match, plus one Joker, who will enter last. In a new video, AEW has announced that Kiera Hogan has been added to the match. So far, Hogan, Nyla Rose, Big Swole, Diamante, Julia Hart, Penelope Ford, Red Velvet, Tay Conti, Thunder Rosa, The Bunny, Emi Sakura, and Hikaru Shida have been announced, with more names being announced this week on Dynamite.

Differing Reports On What Happened Between Charlotte And Nia Jax On Monday Night Raw

It’s better than no explanation. This week’s Monday Night Raw was another hit or miss edition, but there was one part that got almost everyone’s attention. One match did not exactly go over all that well, and a lot of that was due to how the participants were not exactly seeming to be on the same page. Now we know a bit more about what happened and things are still a little hazy.
Monday Night Raw’s match between Charlotte and Nia Jax broke down on multiple occasions, with the two seemingly not on the same page more than once. There were a few instances where it seems the two were not cooperating, including Charlotte hitting Jax harder than usual and Jax dropping Charlotte several times. There are multiple explanations for what happened.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the match may have been an attempt at a worked shoot, with both women attempting to make the match feel like it fell apart while being planned the entire time. However, according to PWInsider.com, the match was “..

RUMOR: Why Alexa Bliss Was Not On Monday Night Raw, Bliss Comments

There’s a reason for that, I think? WWE has been undergoing some issues with its roster in recent months, as the company’s lineups have changed several times, mainly due to several releases. At the same time though, there have been a lot of people missing for just the short term. That was the case again this week, but it wasn’t for a reason you might have expected.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Alexa Bliss interrupted Charlotte’s celebration as the new Raw Women’s Champion. However, Bliss was neither seen nor mentioned on this week’s show and Charlotte wrestled Nia Jax. Bliss sent out a tweet saying that she was at Monday Night Raw but was not used. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Bliss was originally planned to be part of the show but the script was torn up by Vince McMahon. There is no word on what Bliss was scheduled to do.
Haha I didn’t “miss” RAW . I was very much there ?

WWE Takes Major Step Towards Debuting New Concept

That’s where we’re going. Tournaments are an easy concept in wrestling as anyone can get the idea. You can put however many wrestlers you want out there and hold up a prize, often a championship, and the winner gets said prize. That’s the kind of thing you see often in wrestling and you are going to be seeing it again in the future. It just might not be what you thought it was going to be.
According to Fightful.com, WWE has filed a trademark application for “Queen’s Crown Tournament”. This would likely be the rumored Queen of the Ring tournament, which has yet to be formally announced but is expected to begin in October, with the finals taking place at Crown Jewel. There is no word on who will enter the tournament or how many entrants there will be.
There have been women’s tournaments before. Check out some of their better moments over the years:

Asuka Drops Major Update On Her Recent WWE Whereabouts

Maybe that’s where she is. With so many different wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy to lose track of some of them. Sometimes you are going to have wrestlers who are not around very often, but it can sometimes be a little while before you notice. That seems to have been the case with a certain Monday Night Raw star, but now we might have an idea of where she has been.
Asuka has not wrestled a match, either on television or at a live event, since July 18 and her status has not been mentioned on WWE television. There has been no word on why she has been absent, though she may have given us a clue herself. Asuka has tweeted out a photo of herself with dentist, celebrating that her new teeth have finally been finished. Her arm is in a sling in the photo, though there is no word on what is wrong with it. There is also no word on when Asuka will be returning to television.
I finally got new teeth! It took 6 months since I lost my teeth?

NXT Live Coverage And Results – August 31, 2021

NXT
Date: August 31, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph
The changes continue around here as we are marching towards the new version of NXT. I still have no idea what that means and I’m not sure I want to. Then again it might be for the best, as NXT has not exactly been at its most thrilling for a long time now. There are a few matches set in advance this week so let’s get to it.
Mandy Rose vs. Sarray Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne are here with Rose. Mandy takes her down to start and rubs her face in the mat, setting up some pushups on Sarray’s back. Sarray is back up with a dropkick and a kind of nasty looking fisherman’s suplex for two. A top rope twisting splash misses for Sarray and we hit the quickly broken chinlock.
Rose grabs a fall away slam into a nip up and it’s off to something like an abdominal stretch. That’s broken up as well and Sarray starts the striking. The running dropkick sets up the running d..

WWE Might Have Lined Up Its Next World Title Program

Another Battle Of OVW. The Monday Night Raw roster is in a bit of a weird place at the moment as Bobby Lashley has held the WWE Championship for about six months. That does not leave him with many fresh opponents, meaning WWE is going to have to come up with someone new to come after the title. Now they have someone new in mind and it could be interesting.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is planning for a WWE Title program between Lashley and Randy Orton. This comes after Orton and Riddle defeated Lashley and MVP in the main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw. Following the match, Orton laid out Lashley with an RKO. There is no word on when the title match would take place, though Lashley does not have an opponent for Extreme Rules.
They might have something here. Check out how we could be seeing the match and some of Orton’s best WWE moments:

WWE Planning To Make Big Roster Move

It might help things. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy for someone to get lost in the shuffle. At some point, a wrestler has done just about everything they can do in their current situation and something needs to change. WWE has various ways to do that and it seems they are getting ready to make such a change with one of their bigger stars.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is preparing to move Drew McIntyre to SmackDown. This comes after McIntyre was pinned by Damian Priest in a triple threat match on this week’s Monday Night Raw. WWE usually has someone lose their major matches before they move over to the other roster. WWE will be holding its next Draft in October.
McIntyre would work on any roster. Check out some of his WWE highlights:
