This has been the reality in wrestling for decades and continues to be to this day. It makes a difference when someone changes from one side to the other and now it has happened again in a rather violent way.

This weekend at AEW Revolution, Jamie Hayter successfully defended the Women’s Title against Saraya and Ruby Soho. Following the match, Soho attacked Hayter and Britt Baker, aligning herself with Saraya and Toni Storm. This comes after weeks of the two groups feuding, with Soho sitting on the sidelines. The turn marks the first time that Soho has been a villain in AEW.

It’s a different sport. Since professional wrestling became a thing, there has been an interest in seeing how other athletes would do if they tried their hand in the ring. This has been the case with all kinds of sports, but now it seems that another wrestler is interested in trying her hand at a sport outside of wrestling. She just won’t have to go far to find the right kind of ring.

During an interview with Fightful Select, WWE star Dana Brooke spoke about incorporating boxing training into her wrestling training. Brooke also mentioned that she hoped to book herself into a boxing fight later this year. There is no word on how long Brooke has trained in boxing or what WWE would think about her trying another sport. Brooks has not wrestled on Monday Night Raw since November 14, 2022.

New holders. Title changes can mean a lot in wrestling as you can see a fresh name holding a championship, perhaps for the first time. That is the kind of thing that can make all the difference in the world to a wrestler as it makes them seem like bigger stars than ever before. Multiple new champions were crowned over the weekend as a few title changes took place.

There were five title matches over the weekend at AEW Revolution, with two title changes taking place. First up, the House of Black defeated the Elite to win the Trios Titles for the first time. Later, Wardlow defeated Samoa Joe to retain the TNT Title. AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and Tag Team Champions the Gunns all retained their titles.

They’re back. There are all kinds of ways to present stars in wrestling and sometimes the best way is after a break. Occasionally a wrestler just needs some time away from the fans to get freshened up a bit and let something new come in. That can make for some very fun returns, and now we have seen a pair of them take place after it seemed that their time was done.

The Gunns retained the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a four way match at Revolution, defeating the Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy and Danhausen. Following the match, FTR returned to lay out the Gunns. This was the first AEW appearance for FTR since January, as the team had said they would be taking time off until their contracts expired in April. According to PWInsider.com, FTR is believed to have long term deals with AEW, with the hiatus being just part of a storyline.

It wasn’t over. WWE presents all kinds of wrestling events every year, many of which are aired on national television. At the same time, there are several events that only take place in front of the crowd, with the WWE cameras not rolling. Sometimes you will get to see some of the footage shot by fans though, and that was the case this week, with some big names featured.

This weekend, Roman Reigns made a rare appearance at a WWE live event, defeating Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following the match, as shown in footage shot by a fan, Reigns said that Zayn was going to pay for his past actions and then attacked him again. Reigns had previously beaten Zayn in a title match at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

It must be a wrestler thing. There are certain wrestlers who have tried their hands at acting, but only a few have managed to make it work. You never can tell when someone is going to find success in another field. When it does work, it can make for some interesting acting roles, and now we are in for another one. It just happens to be the second time a wrestler has played the role.

According to Deadline.com, John Cena will be voicing Rocksteady in the upcoming film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The film will be released by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, with a trailer being expected later this year. This will be the second time that a wrestler has voiced Rocksteady, as Sheamus voiced the character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows.

It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it.
Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team.
Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..

Family fight. The Bloodline has dominated the WWE landscape for the better part of two years now, though there are some issues that have begun creeping up. Over the last few months, problems have emerged with the team, as Jey Uso seems on the fence about sticking around. That could lead to trouble, but now we have a better idea where one member might be going.

This week on SmackDown, Solo Sikoa defeated Sami Zayn in the show’s main event, continuing his streak of never being pinned or made to submit since he debuted on the main roster. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Sikoa is being kept strong and protected to save him for an eventual match with Roman Reigns. There is no word on when this would be taking place or how it would be set up.

They’re in a time crunch. We are less than four weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to get everything left over set up for the card. It is difficult to get some things together and it can be made even worse when a problem takes place out of nowhere. That seems to be the case again, as a star who is probably going to be on the card is injured. Now we know some more about the situation.

This week on SmackDown, Ronda Rousey appeared with her arm in a sling after being attacked by Natalya and Tegan Nox earlier in the night. According to PWTorch.com, Rousey aggravated a prior injury, meaning that the planned tag team match between Rousey/Shayna Baszler vs. Nox/Natalya had to be changed. As of now, Rousey is still expected to wrestle at WrestleMania, though she has not had a match announced yet.

They have his attention. AEW has come into its own in recent years, offering wrestlers a new high level home outside of WWE. After decades of WWE dominating the wrestling landscape, there is a secondary option around. That does not mean everyone is going to want to stay there though, and now one of the biggest names in AEW might be signaling that it is time for a change.

Over the last year, AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman has talked about “The Bidding War Of 2024”, when he will be a free agent, available to sign with WWE or re-sign with AEW. According to Fightful Select, a WWE talent said Friedman told them that he was “looking forward to being there in 2024”, meaning WWE. At the same time, the talent said that it should be taken with a grain of salt. Other talented have also said Friedman has made similar statements. There is no word on when Friedman’s AEW deal..

We are done with No Surrender and that means we are at least one step closer to Rebellion in April. Josh Alexander is still the World Champion after retaining over Rich Swann, but now Steve Maclin is waiting on the champ. That should make for a good buildup and they have time to make it work. You never know when you might see someone get injured and anyone can get hurt no matter how trained or experienced they are. Now it seems that a WWE veteran is hurt and that could cause some issues for an upcoming important match.

This week on SmackDown, a fatal five way match between Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, LA Knight and Karrion Kross was scheduled for next week, with the winner challenging Gunther for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 39. However, according to Bryan Alvarez’s Twitter subscription feed by way of Wrestlingnews.co, Kingston has suffered an undisclosed injury this week on SmackDown. There is no word on how long he might be out of action or what this might mean for the five way match.
