Next Year’s WWE Royal Rumble Will Be A Little Bit Different

Road trip. There are certain wrestling shows that are more important than others and WWE does a good job at making them feel special. Some of the company’s events have a long history with all kinds of moments taking place over the years. It can be exciting when these shows are added to the WWE calendar and one of the biggest is getting a little twist next time.
WWE has announced that the 2022 Royal Rumble will be taking place at The Dome in St. Louis on Saturday January 29, 2022. This will be the first time in the show’s thirty plus year history that the event has been held on a Saturday. There is no word on why the change was made, but it comes after Summerslam was held on a Saturday for the first time in its history earlier this year.
This is pretty cool. Check out some great Royal Rumble moments from years past:

VIDEO: Roman Reigns Does Puts On A Mask During WWE Extreme Rules

He’s a considerate Head Of The Table. There have not been many stars in recent WWE history to reach the same levels as Roman Reigns. After being pushed as a top star for years, Reigns has finally unlocked everything by becoming the top villain in the company. This has been a complete change of pace for him, but he still did something nice during his latest match.
Reigns was in action during this weekend’s WWE Extreme Rules event. The show’s main event featured Reigns vs. Finn Balor for Reigns’ Universal Title in an Extreme Rules match. The match saw the two brawl throughout the arena, including into the crowd. As the two went into the crowd, Reigns put on a face mask due to the Coronavirus pandemic situation. Reigns would go on to win the match and retain his title.
That’s about as cool as you can get. Check out Reigns going into the crowd plus some other masked moments in wrestling:

WWE Extreme Rules Undergoes Embarrassing Technical Problems

That’s a problem. WWE is a huge wrestling promotion and they have a lot of things going on at the same time. Above all else though is presenting a wrestling product, which can be a little more complicated than it might seem. Sometimes things are going to happen that aren’t in the original plans, and some of those can be very notable. That was the case during a major event.
During Sunday’s Extreme Rules, the show’s audio was not working as planned, with the Spanish commentary feed leaking in along with the English. This took place during the Kickoff Show match between Carmella and Liv Morgan but was corrected during the match. The problem came back during the show’s first match between New Day and the team of Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles and Omos, though this time it was the French commentary. The audio was corrected before the end of the six man tag. Commentator Pat McAfee referenced the issues later in the show.
You might be able to notice. Check out the two matches where this happened,..

RUMOR: Important Name Backstage At SmackDown

Here he comes again. There have been a lot of changes taking place in the WWE over the last year and a half and several of them have not been the most well received. A lot of those problems have seemed to stem from new WWE President Nick Khan, who has seemed intent on cutting costs anywhere he can. Khan making moves is quite the event, and now we might be seeing something else soon.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, Khan was backstage at this week’s SmackDown, though it is not clear why he was present at the show. Khan appearing at television events is not a normal occurrence. Khan was working with Vince McMahon and the company’s higher ups throughout the day. It is not known if he will be around at television more frequently or if this was a one off event.
Source states WWE president Nick Khan was backstage in Philadelphia last night for SmackDown, and was involved w/ Vince & Co throughout the day. Source wasn’t sure the nature of the meetings, but went on to say Khan b..

Well Done: Series Of WWE Matches Receiving Backstage Praise

They have an audience. With so much WWE content these days, wrestlers have a harder and harder time getting noticed. It isn’t easy to stand out among all of these other talented people, so it can be all the more impressive when someone does manage to make that big of an impression. It seems that two more people have done just that and WWE seems to be rather pleased.
According to F4WOnline, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair’s live event matches and dark matches have been receiving strong reviews. The matches were designed to help get the two ready for their Extreme Rules match where Lynch defended her SmackDown Women’s Title. Lynch returned last month at Summerslam, defeating Belair in 26 seconds to win the title.
They look to be working. Check out what Lynch and Belair have done:

Seth Rollins: “I Was Ready To Strangle Vince McMahon”

That’s certainly extreme. WWE has a lot of wrestlers on its roster and they are going to be able to offer a lot of things to the audience. While the most obvious result is their in-ring work, you also get to see them doing things outside of the ring, including quite a bit of talking. That was the case again this week, and a WWE star had something interesting to say about his boss.
Seth Rollins was the guest on the latest edition of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions. During the interview, Rollins discussed his Hell in a Cell match against the Fiend at Hell In A Cell 2019. Rollins said that he did not like the way the match went and “wanted to strangle” Vince McMahon after the match. TJ Wilson had to hold Rollins back and he had a calmer discussion with McMahon the following day. The match was named the Worst Match Of The Year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and featured a referee stoppage after Rollins crushed Fiend’s head with a mallet.
Here is what Rollins said, with transcr..

Surprise Return Takes Place At WWE Extreme Rules

Welcome back. There are certain things in wrestling that are almost always going to get some great reactions. One of the strongest can be a return, as wrestlers coming back can throw a huge wrench into any kind of a story. Some of them are out of nowhere and that was the case again this weekend, as a major star made their return to the ring out of absolutely nowhere.
WWE’s Extreme Rules included a SmackDown Women’s Title match with Becky Lynch defending against Bianca Belair. Late in the match, former SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks made her return to cost Belair the match via DQ. This was Banks’ first appearance since August, when she was scheduled to challenge Belair at Summerslam. Lynch took Banks’ place in the match and defeated her to win the title.
It was a big night. Check out how the title match went and how Banks will be doing now that she is back:

Extreme Rules 2021 Live Coverage And Results

Extreme Rules 2021
Date: September 26, 2021
Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio
Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton
It’s the night they went extreme without remembering to go extreme. This year’s edition features six matches with one match having any kind of extreme stipulation. The fact that they have been hyping up the Draft and Crown Jewel at the same time doesn’t exactly make this show feel important. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Carmella vs. Liv Morgan This was moved up from the main card and we hear about how Carmella’s face pays the bills. It separates her from people like Liv, who should be ashamed of herself. Carmella: “I’m hot and you’re not.” As the Spanish commentary is on in full, Morgan jumps her before the bell and the fight is on, unlike the Spanish commentary anymore. Carmella avoids a charge to the floor and kicks Morgan in the face for two. The Bronco Buster (McAfee: “I’m gonna bust your sternum with my a**!”) hi..

AEW Star Dealing With Knee Issue, Misses Match

That would be a reason. There is one thing that every wrestler has in common: they can all be injured. No matter how well trained or experience they may be, there is always the chance that something could take them out of action. It might be something built up over time or something that happens all at once, but it can happen to anyone. That seems to be the case again.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW’s Brian Cage is dealing with a knee problem, which forced him to pull out of last week’s Battleground Wrestling event. Cage’s issue is the result of a bad reaction to a stem cell treatment. There is no word on when Cage will return to AEW TV. His most recent match took place on the September 1 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Cage is quite good. Check out some of his best moments in AEW:

WWE Star Wrestled On Torn ACL Without WWE’s Knowledge

He deserves some praise. A surprise return is one of the best things that you can see on a wrestling show as it not only offers a fun moment but it can open up a lot of doors. It might even be the return of a lower level star but someone coming back is the kind of thing that almost always works. It was the case again this week and now we know a bit more about the returning star.
Riddick Moss made his surprise return to WWE TV this week after more than a year away due to a knee injury. According to Fightful Select, Moss wrestled some matches last year with a torn ACL. WWE was said to be “shocked and impressed” by the news as Moss’ injury was so bad. Moss has also been moved to SmackDown from Monday Night Raw as WWE felt it would not matter since the Draft will be shaking up everything again early next month.
Moss’ return could change some things. Check out how his return went and who is back:

Interesting And Telling Detail On Major Summerslam Moment

They might need some better planning. There are certain things that WWE could do better. One of the most infamous stories you will regularly hear is about how the script is changed at the last minute. It often comes off that WWE does not know what they are going to do until they have no time left. That seems to have been the case at one of the biggest shows of the year.
Last month, Becky Lynch made her surprise return to WWE at Summerslam after a year plus away due to maternity leave. She would defeat Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Women’s Title in 26 seconds as a replacement opponent when Sasha Banks did not appear on the show. Belair spoke to Inside The Ropes and revealed that the decision to have her lose the title to Lynch was made at the very last minute. Belair said that the decision was made just as she was ready to go to the ring. She described the emotions that were on her face in the ring were real, as she was shocked.
These two have quite the chemistry. Check out how t..

WWE Star Debuts Very New Character Inspired By Classic Movie

That’s a new one. There are all kinds of characters in the wrestling world and some of them stand out more than others. Sometimes you see something based on a popular TV show or a movie, but every now or then you see something that is out of the past. These have a tendency to stand out quite a bit, and now we might be seeing the same thing all over again.
Shane Thorne wrestled a dark match before this week’s SmackDown where he debuted a new gimmick. Thorne’s new character is inspired by Crocodile Dundee, a 1986 Australian movie. After his debut, Thorne tweeted out clips from Crocodile Dundee and the Crocodile Hunter, talking about how great the two of them were. Thorne has not wrestled on television since the April 9 SmackDown and there is no word on when he will be returning to WWE television.
