RUMOR: Another Surprising Move You Could See In The WWE Draft

Fast turnaround. NXT is changing every week these days as WWE continues to overhaul the brand into a new version of what it has been for years. This has included a variety of changes being made to the roster, as wrestlers have been coming and going all over the place. The WWE Draft could shake things up even more, and now we might know another name being brought up.
According to the Mat Men Wrestling podcast, NXT’s LA Knight may be called up to the main roster during the upcoming WWE Draft. Knight debuted in February and went on to win the Million Dollar Title in a feud with Cameron Grimes. Since then, Knight has begun chasing the NXT Title. Knight is a former Impact Wrestling World Champion and NWA Tag Team Champion. The Draft begins this week on SmackDown and ends next week on Monday Night Raw.
Knight has done quite well in NXT. Check out some of his time there:

Released WWE Star Signed New Deal Months Before Being Let Go

That doesn’t sound very fair. The big story from WWE this year has been the rapid fire releases. The company has let dozens of wrestler go over the course of the year, continuing a theme from last year. There have been some surprising names let go from the company and that has not been the easiest thing to see. It turns out that it was even harder for one name in particular.
Former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed was released from WWE earlier this year. Reed appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast and revealed that he had signed a new three year extension with the company at the beginning of 2021. He received news of his release while watching SmackDown and thought the call was informing him that he would be starting on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown, as he had been working some dark matches in the weeks before his release. Reed is currently dealing with immigration issues and is in negotiations to start appearing with other wrestling promotions.

Nikki Bella Reveals Sad News About Her Wrestling Future

Never again? Wrestlers are a weird breed when it comes to athletics. While almost every other professional athlete has a pretty standard maximum age for retirement, wrestlers are able to jump back into the ring for a one off match here and there, even a long time after they retire. That is what happens with a lot of them, but one prominent name will not be able to do so.
Nikki Bella appeared on Arian Andrew’s Sippin’ the Tea podcast and revealed that she is currently considered “on the retired bench for life.” While Bella would like to return to the ring for her son to see her wrestle one day, her doctors have not currently cleared her to do so. Despite her status, Bella said that she is happy with her life now and would be fine waiting to wrestle again. Bella was forced to retire due to various neck injuries and last wrestled at a WWE live event in November 2018.
She certainly had a successful career. Check out the show and Bella in the ring:

More Details On New Upcoming WWE Series

It’s a different way to go. WWE is a huge business and has been around for decades. They have also been alone atop the wrestling world for a very long time, which has allowed them to expand in ways that no other promotion has ever dreamed of doing. That is the kind of thing that allows them to try some new things, and that is what they are going to be doing with a new series.
Back in May, news came out that WWE is currently developing a series called WWE Evil, focusing on some of the greatest villains in the history of the company. The series will be created, narrated and executive produced by John Cena, but there will be other major names included. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has begun production on the show and has interviewed names such as Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Paul Heyman, Batista and Mick Foley. The series is being produced for Peacock, though there is no word on when it will

Update On WWE Summerslam 2022 Taking Place In The United Kingdom

Maybe later? We are approaching the end of 2021 and that means it is time to start getting ready for the new year. WWE certainly has done that already and has some plans ready for 2022. While WrestleMania will get the most focus, there are several other shows worth looking at as well. That includes Summerslam, which has been rumored for some big plans but they might not be locked in just yet.
Earlier this week, a story emerged saying that WWE was hoping to hold Summerslam 2022 in the United Kingdom, with Cardiff Wales’ Principality Stadium as the leading location candidate. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, the deal is far from complete and there is no guarantee that the show will take place in the United Kingdom. WWE has yet to announce anything about the show.
The United Kingdom has sent WWE some great wrestling over the years. Check out some of the best:

RUMOR: AEW’s Creative Direction Has Changed In A Big Way

Someone has to be in charge. AEW has not exactly been put together like other promotions in the world. Unlike WWE, Impact Wrestling and just about everything else in modern wrestling, AEW was run by the group of wrestlers who served as Executive Vince Presidents. This was certainly a different way to set things up, but it did not seem to go as well as expected. Now things seem to have changed in a fairly big way.
According to Bodyslam.net, the creative process in AEW has been changed. While the team of Executive Vice Presidents, including Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks ran the creative when the company was founded, AEW President Tony Khan now runs the creative by himself. Wrestlers are allowed to make suggestions and pitch ideas, but Khan’s word is the final decision for all storylines.
Those Executive Vice Presidents are certainly still around. Check out all of them in the ring:

WATCH: Emotional Speech After AEW Dynamite

We’ll call it a nightcap. There are very few things in wrestling as energetic as an AEW crowd. The company has put together some incredible events and the fans are very hungry for what they are presenting. You do not get to see something like that very often and it is important for the company to keep that energy going. They did that again after this week’s show was over.
The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Sammy Guevara defeat Miro to become the new TNT Champion. After the show was over, Guevara celebrated in the ring and talked about how he wanted to be the best TNT Champion he could be. However, he knew that he could never feel the shoes of Brodie Lee. The show took place in Lee’s hometown of Rochester, New York.
It was an emotional night. Check out the speech, the title change, and the man worth a tribute:

REVIEW: Monday Nitro – September 27,1999: The Mediocre Old Days

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Monday Nitro #210
Date: September 27, 1999
Location: Phillips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
Attendance: 11,919
Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan
It’s time to continue into this downward spiral that Nitro has become. Tonight they have a major six man tag with Hogan/Hart/Flair teaming up to face Luger/Sting/Page. Keep that in mind. This is one of the few times that the show has set up a major match a week in advance and actually hyped it up. I’ll come back to that later. Let’s get to it.

Another Former NXT Star Coming To AEW For Title Shot

He’s up first. There is all kinds of talent on the AEW roster and the company has a tendency to bring in a lot more talent in a hurry. That can make for some interesting changes to the roster as you never know who you might see pop up at any given time. Some of them are more prominent than others, and now we are going to be seeing another familiar face pop in for a bit.
During this week’s premiere episode of Rhodes To The Top, a special video aired featuring an interview with new TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. After winning the title during the main event of AEW Dynamite, Guevara said that he received a text from former NXT star Bobby Fish, who has issued a challenge. Guevara accepted the challenge for next week on Dynamite. According to PWInsider.com, this will not be a one off appearance for Fish, who was released from WWE over the summer.
I’d like to congratulate the new TNT Champion @sammyguevara and be the first to challenge him for that title. Ready to walk through the forbidden d..

Update On Randy Orton’s WWE Status

I guess that’s something. With so many wrestlers on its active roster, it can be a little bit difficult to keep track of everyone WWE has around. This can be a bigger problem when a more prominent star is gone as it leads to questions about what is going on. One such WWE star was gone recently, and now we know a little bit more about why he has been missing.
Randy Orton reportedly missed a recent live event and was not on this week’s Monday Night Raw either. According to PWInsider.com, the word backstage at Monday Night Raw is that Orton was not “cleared to perform”, though there is no word on what is specifically wrong with him. Orton last appeared on the September 20 Monday Night Raw and it is not clear when he will be back.
Orton has had some returns before. Check out some of his best returns:

KB’s Review: The Gangrel Solution

There are all kinds of problems in WWE today and one of the biggest is that the company does not seem to keep things interesting. This is the case for more than one reason, ranging from stories taking too long to move forward as well as wrestlers losing so often that it is hard to make them feel like stars. These are problems that can be solved, and there is one match that gives you a brief blueprint to solve more than one of them at the same time.
Flash back with me to the Attitude Era, which may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea. There are parts of it that are remembered very badly while other elements were quite good in a lot of ways. One of the best things was the wide variety of memorable characters, as almost everyone had at least a little something going on. You can debate the merits of that, but this week we are looking at one match in particular on a pretty important episode of Monday Night Raw.

VIDEO: Another Former NXT Champion Coming To AEW

Make sure you grab a name tag. AEW has a rather talented roster with a great mixture of wrestlers. There are veterans and legends, newcomers and rookies and some established names who are still on their way to the top of the industry. That makes for some great matchups and now AEW has brought in another name that you might be familiar with from what he has done before.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, a vignette aired announcing that Lio Rush has signed a deal with the company. Rush has wrestled in AEW before, appearing at Double Or Nothing 2021, as well as in WWE, where he was the NXT Cruiserweight Champion. Earlier this year, Rush announced his retirement from wrestling, but said that he would be fulfilling his remaining New Japan dates. There is no word on when he will be making his return to AEW.
This was a surprise. Check out Rush’s announcement, plus what he can do in the ring:
