You’ll Be Seeing Some New Stars On Monday Night Raw And SmackDown

They’re the new stars. We are halfway through the 2021 WWE Draft and now we can see where a lot of things are going. That makes for some interesting moments, as the WWE roster needed to be shaken up. The problem with that is there are a lot of rosters to be shaken up, and some of the changes are not as great. One of the roster took a hit during the first night as the other two got a boost.
Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown selected NXT talent with picks during the first night of the Draft. First, SmackDown drafted the entire Hit Row stable, including B Fab, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis. The team debuted in NXT on May 4 of this year. With the last pick of the night, Monday Night Raw selected Austin Theory. This is Theory’s second trip to the main roster, as he wrestled there during the spring and summer of 2020 before returning to NXT as part of the Way.
There is potential here. Check out the main roster stars still in NXT:

These Three Former WWE Stars Have Landed New Gigs

You have to do something else. Wrestlers are like normal people in that at some point, their careers are going to end. What makes things a little bit different though is the fact that wrestlers are often going to be retiring from the ring far before they are moving into traditional retirement years. They need something else to do and now several former WWE stars seem to have found at least a temporary something.
Three former WWE stars have landed a new position outside of wrestling. First up, Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman, will be serving as an analyst at the Mr. Olympia Power Arm Wrestling Championships on October 8 and 9. Next, Dean Muhtadi, formerly known as Mojo Rawley, has announced he will be the new co-host for TMZ Sports Monday thru Friday on Fox Sports 1. Finally, NBC has announced, by way of 411mania.com, that Nikki Bella will be serving as one of the judges on America’s Got Talent: Extreme, which will be debuting later this month.
Honored to announce I will..

It’s time for a special night as we have two big matches on the same show. First of all, we’ll be seeing Bryan Danielson facing Nick Jackson in a match that could be rather interesting. Other than that, Jack Evans is putting his hair on the line against Orange Cassidy, as per Matt Hardy’s orders. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Bryan Danielson vs. Nick Jackson They start slowly until the threat of some strikes send Danielson outside. Nick spends too much time getting some cold spray that Danielson is right there with the suicide dive. Back in and Danielson takes him down into the surfboard/Dragon Sleeper. Not that it matters as Danielson is right back up with a flip into a rebound clothesline to take over.
A cross armbreaker sends Nick over to the ropes but Danielson is right back on the arm. Danielson suplexes him down to set up a hammerlock, complete with kn..

Full WWE Draft Picks From SmackDown, Several Names Changing Brands

It’s halftime. The WWE Draft is one of the biggest events that WWE presents every single year. The WWE rosters are changed over the course of two nights and some of the moves made are going to change things for a long time to come. This has been the case before, and it seems like it is going to be what happens this year as well, and now we are halfway done.
The first half of the WWE Draft took place during this week’s edition of SmackDown, with four rounds of two picks each to both SmackDown and Monday Night Raw. There were picks from both the other rosters as well as NXT, with several picks being used on wrestlers who stayed on their previous brands. Only half of the WWE roster was available to be drafted on SmackDown, with the other half being available on Monday Night Raw. The roster changes will not be made official until October 22. Here are the picks from SmackDown:
To Smackdown:
Round 1 – Roman Reigns
Round 1 – Charlotte
Round 2 – Drew McIntyre
Round 2 – Kofi Kingston/Xavier W..

WWE Announces Details For Long Expected Tournaments

Make it official. Tournaments are one of the easiest things in the world to explain because any fan can understand the concept. You take a bunch of people and put them into a bracket with the last person standing being the one who wins some kind of a prize. That is what we will be seeing starting next week, though this time it is going to be a little more historic than usual.
This week’s SmackDown featured an announcement that both the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments will begin next week on SmackDown. The tournaments finals are expected to be held on October 21 at Crown Jewel. This will be the first ever Queen’s Crown Tournament, while the King of the Ring was a regular event from 1993-2002 and has been held intermittently since then. The most recent edition was held in 2019.
The tournament can mean a lot. Check out what is coming:

New Title Match Set For WWE Crown Jewel

One more time. WWE’s series of events in Saudi Arabia have been a bit controversial to say the least. There have been issues with the wrestlers and the company against the kingdom and there is nothing to suggest that all of those will be smoothed over on the next trip. However, one of the positive points has been the inclusion of women’s wrestling, including something we will be seeing more of next time.
WWE has announced that SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 21. This comes after Banks returned at Extreme Rules and attacked Belair, costing her a title shot against Lynch. This will be the second women’s title match held in Saudi Arabia, after Bayley successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Title against Naomi at Super Showdown 2020.
There have been some great moments in women’s wrestling on the shows. Check out what the women have done:

Go Over There: Champion Switches Brands In WWE Draft

There’s your shakeup. The WWE Draft is one of the biggest events of the year as everything can change in the course of two nights. That is the kind of thing you do not get to see very often but sometimes it is one of the most important things that you can see. It leaves fans wondering what they might be seeing, and WWE did not waste any time with the changes in this year’s edition.
The first round of the 2021 WWE Draft saw Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte being moved over to SmackDown. It is not clear what will happen to the title, as SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch remains on SmackDown. Charlotte is a record five time SmackDown Women’s Champion, having most recently held the title in 2019. The roster moves will not be put into effect until the October 22 edition of SmackDown.
Charlotte has worn blue before. Check out some of her time on SmackDown:

It’s a big night as we are starting this year’s Draft. That means we are going to be seeing a bunch of names moved from show to show, though it is not clear if NXT will be included as well. That could make for some interesting changes, but they might not all be for the best. Let’s get to it.
Commentary welcomes us to the show and sets up a few rules: half of the roster will be eligible for drafting tonight and half on Raw, but the rosters will not officially change until October 22, the night after Crown Jewel.
We waste no time as Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce are here to announce the first round picks:
Round 1
Smackdown: Roman Reigns
Raw: Big E.
Smackdown: Charlotte
Raw: Bianca Belair
Here are Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman for a chat, but first we look at a package on Reigns vs. Finn Balor from Extreme Rules. Reigns’ shirt now says We The Ones and he demands to b..

NXT UK Results – September 30, 2021

NXT UK
Date: September 30, 2021
Location: BT Studios, London, England
Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness
We’re back to the show that just kind of exists but still does enough good things to be one of the best wrestling shows going. This time around we get a visit from one of the best tag teams the show has ever seen as Moustache Mountain is getting back together. Other than that, the road to the Heritage Cup #1 Contenders tournament continues, because it can never end. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Oliver Carter/Ashton Smith vs. Moustache Mountain Tyler Bate slams Carter down to start and Trent Seven comes in for a spinning slam. Carter takes him down by the arm though and it’s off to Smith to work on the arm. Seven gets slammed down onto some raised boots and we hit the quickly broken chinlock. Back up and Seven takes over on Smith, allowing Bate to…miss the flipping splash off of Seven’s shoulders. Bate is back with the airplane spin and now the flipping splash fro..

Mick Foley Could Return To The Ring (In A Special Way)

One more match (kind of)? The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things in the wrestling world and that is going to continue to be the case for some time to come. While things have mainly been negative, there have been a few bright spots, including an increase in the popularity of cinematic matches. These matches offer some different ways to go in wrestling, and now we might be seeing another legend getting involved.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Mick Foley mentioned being able to do a cinematic match during a recent comedy show. This is the same thing that Foley has said before, meaning that not only does he still believe he is capable of having such a match, but also that he is interested. There is no word on if WWE has any interest in Foley returning for such a match.
WWE has done some cinematic matches. Check out how some have gone, plus what Foley can do:

WWE Hall Of Famer Turned Down Vince McMahon’s Offer Of A Producer Job

Not everyone is into that. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world but that does not mean it is for everyone. There are a variety of wrestling fans as well as wrestlers who do not seem to like the way WWE is run these days. That can come from a lot of different directions, but a lot of it comes from the way the wrestling product is presented. That wound up being the deciding factor in a legend not sticking with the company.
Bubba Ray Dudley was a guest on Stories With Brisco And Bradshaw and discussed Vince McMahon offering him a spot as a producer with WWE. However, Dudley turned down the position because he did not want to be someone who carried orders from the WWE office to the wrestlers. Instead, Dudley wanted to try and help the wrestlers by being creative in putting together their matches. He said he would be interested in trying the job one day.
Dudley has a deep background in wrestling. Check out some of his time in the industry:

Innovative New Championship Officially Introduced

That’s a new one. There are all kinds of titles in wrestling but each one of them means something similar: whoever holds it is the best at whatever they are doing. That is the kind of concept that anyone can understand, which is why a wrestling promotion loves to have a good amount of them around. Now another promotion is introducing a new title, but it is a different kind of concept.
During this week’s edition of Impact Wrestling, the company introduced the Digital Media Championship. The title will be defended across the company’s digital programming, including social media and Impact Plus. The title matches will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Impact Plus, before appearing on YouTube’s Ultimate Insider videos shortly thereafter. There will be a tournament to crown the first champion, with the finals taking place at Bound For Glory on October 23.
