WRESTLING RUMORS: AEW Planning To Bring Back A 1980s Special

Keep up the content. There is a lot of wrestling going today and thanks to modern technology, it is easy to see more of it than ever before. That can be a very good thing for fans, as they have never had this much content. It can also be exciting to hear that something new is coming, and now we know when that will be happening again in the new year.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, AEW is planning to run a special show on TNT on January 8. The show would be similar to WCW’s Clash of Champions, but since WWE owns the rights to the name, AEW may call the event Battle of the Belts, a named used for a series of NWA specials in the late 1980s. There is no word on what might be on the card.
Per Source:
AEW is planning a TNT Special on Jan 8th.
They're obviously not able to use the name “Clash of the Champions” due to WWE owning the rights…
However, I'm hearing the possible name for this show will be “Battle of the Belts” A throwback to NWA/CFW from pic.twitt..

The Goat Of No Return? WWE Wants Brian Danielson Back

Reunion? There are certain wrestlers who just come off as nice people. Sometimes you find someone who appears to love wrestling and wants to do everything they can to make wrestling better. Having some excellent in-ring skills can be a bonus on top of everything else, and now WWE thinks they might be able to bring back someone who meets all of these qualification.
Brian Danielson left WWE earlier this year and debuted in AEW in April and Fightful Select is reporting several details about his departure from the company. Danielson took part in the main event of this year’s WrestleMania 37 but was a last minute addition to the match. There were never any plans for Danielson to win the Royal Rumble and he was added as a bonus. Danielson would ultimately lose his final WWE match to Roman Reigns, which received praise for Danielson making the match as good as possible. WWE is also hoping that Danielson could return to the company in the future. Danielson debuted in AEW in September at All O..

Former WWE Champion Returning To The Ring After Injury

Welcome back. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to keep track of everyone involved. There are some who are going to stand out more than others and it can be easy to notice when one of them is gone. Their absence can leave quite a hole in a WWE show but it is a cool moment to have them come back. That is going to be the case again for a WWE star.
WWE has announced the card for its upcoming live events in the United Kingdom starting next week. The November 7 show will feature a match between Sheamus and Finn Balor, which will mark Sheamus’ first match since September 30 as he has been out of action after surgery to repair a broken nose. Sheamus and Balor are also scheduled to face off in Leeds, Nottingham and Manchester on the tour.

WATCH: CM Punk Rips WWE Booking, Talks About Its “Formula”

I guess he isn’t happy. There are all kinds of changes taking place in the wrestling world these days and some of them are a lot more interesting than others. Perhaps the biggest in recent memory was CM Punk’s AEW debut, as Punk had been away from the wrestling world for over seven year. Now he is back, and believe it or not, he has something to say about what is happening in WWE.
Punk was recently interviewed by Josh Martinez and spoke about what he described as the WWE booking formula. Punk mentioned that WWE has a history of bringing wrestlers back in and having them win the Royal Rumble before going on to main event WrestleMania, including Batista in 2014 and Edge in 2021. Both would go on to lose their WrestleMania title matches. Punk went on to say that he does not like such repetitive booking and wants to tell stories he finds fun. He made his AEW debut on August 20 and has gone undefeated since.
Punk has been a force in AEW so far. Check out the interview and what he has been..

AEW May Have A Streaming Service In 2022

It would be a step. Back in 2014, WWE changed the way the wrestling world worked by launching the WWE Network. The company was suddenly opening their video vault, allowing fans to see so much of the material they have presented over the years for a cheap price. It was an amazing thing for wrestling fans, and now the company might be getting ready to look at some competition.
During a recent edition of Ask Tony Live from Adfreeshows.com, AEW broadcaster Tony Schiavone said that he believed AEW would have its own streaming service by the end of 2022. While Schiavone acknowledged that he did not know this for a fact, he said that he believed it based on conversations he had been having with people in the company. Schiavone also said that he had heard AEW would eventually make it to HBO Max.
AEW has done a lot in its brief history. Check out some of what they have to offer:

From WWE.com:
Orton controlled the battlefield with his signature deliberate pace, carefully calculating every move. McIntyre found a way to rally with a series of belly-to-belly throws, including a third that sent Orton crashing into a table.
But The Viper’s plotting didn’t relent, and he used bolt cutters to escape the cell and began scaling it moments later, challenging McIntyre to pursue him. That appeared to be Orton’s plan all along, as he retrieved a lead pipe atop the cage, though McIntyre ducked his wild swing to thwart this particular scheme.
While climbing down, both men struck each other repeatedly while clinging to the cell. Un..

From WWE.com:
Bayley arrived with her trusty steel chair, but the most experienced Women’s Hell in a Cell competitor in WWE history pulled it from her grasp and tossed it out of the lowering cell, leaving The Role Model without her equalizer.
The champion resorted to a different weapon, opting for a Kendo stick, though Banks avoided it, and it marked the first of many attacks with foreign objects. The Boss wedged Bayleyagainst the cell with a table, scaling it before delivering a spectacular Meteora. Banks was far from finished, as she deployed unique offense and later sent Bayley face-first into the chain lin..

WATCH: Popular Wrestling Star Has A Broken Leg

That’s bad timing. There are certain wrestlers who catch your attention for one way or another and it can be fascinating to see what they do every time. Some of these wrestlers have not gotten the most mainstream coverage and it makes things almost more interesting to keep them on the lower levels. Now one of those wrestlers has suffered some bad news and he will be missing some time.
Independent star Danhausen has revealed that he has broken a bone in his leg. Danhausen tweeted out a video from the hospital, showing himself in wrestling gear with his leg braced. Fellow independent star Warhorse is holding the camera in the video and tells Danhausen that he cannot fix the injury. There is no word on where the injury took place or how long Danhausen will be out of action.
It’s never good to hear about something like this. Check out the announcement, plus some better moments of Danhausen:

WATCH: Popular AEW Star Reveals Concussion Diagnosis

That’s never good to hear. There are so many people on the AEW roster but there are only a few who really get the chance to stand out. That could be for a variety of reasons and some of those are better than others. Sometimes though you see someone get over because of an incredible in-ring performance. It was certainly the case earlier this year, but now one of the wrestlers is out of action for a less than great reason.
In a new vlog, AEW’s Thunder Rosa has revealed that she is currently out of action with a concussion. In the video, she mentioned being on her way to Dynamite to see if she could get cleared to get back in the ring. There is no word on when she was injured or when she will be back in the ring, though her most recent AEW match took place on the October 16 edition of AEW Dark.
It’s a big deal. Check out what Rosa had to say, plus some of her time in the ring in AEW:

WWE Superstar Gets One Of A Kind Recognition For Special Efforts

Add it to the list. WWE is known for a lot of things and some of them are less positive than others. However, there are a few things that they do rather well and it is cool to see them doing it again and again. That is certainly the case with their record on charity, as WWE has worked with a variety of groups over the years. Some of their individual wrestlers have as well, and now one of them has done something pretty big.
Sligh Middle Magnet School has been renamed the Thaddeus M. Bullard Academy At Sligh Middle Magnet School, as named after WWE star Titus O’Neil. In a post on Instagram, O’Neil talked about what the dedication meant to him, saying that his association with the school is lifelong and he wants other students to have the same feeling that he had when he was in school. O’Neil has helped support the school over the years and promised to continue to do so.
Congratulations to #WWE Global Ambassador @TitusONeilWWE on the unveiling of the Thaddeus M. Bullard Academy at Sligh..

Here Or There: WWE’s Plans For Recent Event Were Very Confused

You might need to get it together. There are a lot of moving parts in WWE and sometimes it seems like things are a little bit messy. You will see stories that suggest that WWE does not exactly have it together backstage, as it feels like there are communications issues abounding. It seems that was the case again, as a wrestlerwas written into a show without actually being around.
Earlier this month, WWE held the second night of the 2021 WWE Draft. There were several moves made throughout the Draft, including more than one surprise. The final Monday Night Raw pick was used on Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, who has yet to wrestle a match with WWE. According to Fightful Select, Steveson was listed on the show’s itinerary for the night and included him making an entrance. However, Steveson was not at the building and there is nothing to suggest he was ever scheduled to be there. Steveson is not expected to debut for the company until after college wrestling season ends in the sprin..

LOOK: Awesome Concept Art For Alexa Bliss And Bray Wyatt

Those are just awesome. Every now and then, you see a character in wrestling who catches your attention like no other. Fans can tell that they are going to be in for something that they have not seen before who lets you see a new direction for a character. Some of these are just downright awesome and it turns out that we almost saw two very different versions of two popular characters.
Kyle. A Scarborough, a tattoo artist who helped design the Fiend’s mask, has tweeted out two pieces of concept art for characters who almost made it to WWE television. First up was a mixture of a mask/makeup that Alexa Bliss would have worn as a female version of the Fiend. The other is what would have been a humanoid Huskus the Pig, as an idea had been pitched to have the Firefly Fun House characters come to life, but only with Bray Wyatt playing them. Neither ever made it to television and Wyatt has been released from the company.
Fun Fact: During the beginning of @AlexaBliss_WWE's run with #The..
