Action: Bray Wyatt Appearing In Upcoming Feature Film

He could be good at it. There are several wrestlers that fans seem to think would work out well in Hollywood. While they are very good in front of a camera at a wrestling show, there is a world of difference in being in front of a camera in a mainstream TV show or movie. Sometimes it has worked out though and now another prominent wrestling star is getting the chance.
In an interview with Metro, Callosum Studios owner Jason Baker revealed that the former Bray Wyatt would be beginning filming a part in a movie later this month. The movie will be a feature length film and is described as “Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu”. Filming will begin in Tennessee later this month, though there is no word on the name of the film or who will be starring in it.
Wyatt certainly does have a presence. Check out his creepier moments in WWE:

Big International Star Becoming Free Agent Soon

Back on the market. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years and that does not seem to be letting up anytime soon. There are so many places for a wrestler to go around the world and now almost anyone can see them at almost anytime. It can be interesting when you see a wrestler getting a chance to hit the open market and that will be the case again soon.
New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Juice Robinson spoke with Sports Illustrated and revealed that his contract with the company is expiring in February, making him a free agent. Robinson is hoping to reignite his singles career before his deal expires, as he has mainly been teaming with David Finlay as FinJuice. There is no word on where Robinson plans to sign next after his contract expires.
Robinson could be a player in a lot of places. Check out some of his time in the ring around the world:

Eddie Kingston Opens Up About Mental Health In Amazing Letter

That’s something serious. There are certain issues that have always been around but their statuses have changed over the years. This includes mental health, which is becoming something discussed more often as of late. Thankfully, people are starting to discuss their issues more openly and the topic is becoming less of a taboo subject. Now a prominent wrestler is doing it as well.
AEW’s Eddie Kingston has written an online letter to the Players’ Tribune, discussing his issues with mental health and his efforts to keep going. In the letter, Kingston talks about dealing with anger issues over the years and how wrestling was one of the main things that kept him calm. Kingston goes into his history as a wrestler, starting from the time at the beginning of his career and how he was ready to give up on wrestling because he felt he would never make it. The letter culminates with Kingston making it to AEW and finally proving that he could make it. Kingston is set to face CM Punk at Full Gear o..

These WWE Wrestlers Requested To Be Released

They got what they wanted. Last week, WWE continued its streak of releasing wrestlers from the company. This is something that they have done on and off for over the last year and a half, with eighteen more wrestlers being let go in the span of about an hour last week. As has been the case before though, not all of the releases were the same, and some of them were different than the others.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, at least Zayda Ramier, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik all requested their releases from the company. However, WWE did not immediately grant them, but rather waited for the rest of the group of releases to officially let them go. None of the three were being used by WWE, with Ramier only wrestling five matches during her time in the company and neither Metalik nor Dorado wrestling since September.
They are some talented people. Check out the three of them in the ring:

Please Don’t Be Bad: Finn Balor Missing Time Due To Injury

That could have been worse. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them are a lot worse than others. You never know when you might see someone get taken out of the ring in a hurry, but occasionally the injury is not quite as severe while still leaving a wrestler on the shelf. This time around, it seems to be the latter but we don’t know how long someone will be gone.
According to 411mania.com, Finn Balor did not compete in a match on the United Kingdom tour earlier this week with an announcement being made that Balor was injured. According to PWInsider.com, Balor was held out of the show as a precautionary measure, though his injury is believed to be minor. There is no word on when Balor will be back in the ring or what kind of injury he has.
Balor is quite the star. Check out what he can do when he is healthy:

WATCH: Dream Match Teased During WWE UK Tour

I’m interested. There are a lot of wrestlers under the WWE umbrella and one of the most important things that the company needs to do is fine a way to get the right combination of them together. That can be trickier than it seems, but sometimes the company is handed a match that makes all the sense in the world. It seems to be the case again and this time WWE seems to be acting on one of them.
During the WWE’s current tour of the United Kingdom, former NXT United Kingdom Champion Walter was standing in the ring following his match. As Walter was posing, Finn Balor’s music hit and the two had a staredown as they passed. This would suggest that the two of them may be in line for a future match. The two had teased a match in NXT but nothing ever came of it.
Yeah this works. Check out Balor’s interruption plus the two in action:

Superstar Confirms Torn ACL, Already Undergone Surgery

That’s one of the bad ones. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world but there are some that are absolutely horrible to hear about. You know them when they come up and the question becomes how long it is going to be before a wrestler can make it back to the ring. That is the case again, as an NXT star’s injury seems to be one of the worse you can have.
NXT’s Zoey Stark has announced that she has suffered a torn ACL and has already undergone surgery to repair the damage. The injury took place during the ladder match at Halloween Havoc, though the storyline explanation was an attack by Toxic Attraction the following week on NXT. There is no word on how long Stark will be out of action as she undergoes rehabilitation.
Sadly, I tore my ACL/Meniscus due to Toxic's attack. Here's the bad news for the “champs”. Surgery went great and I'm already rehabbing. I'll be back BETTER & STRONGER with three targets in mind! Until then @shirai_io @KacyCatanzaro @wweka..

NXT Announces A Special Return, But Something Is Missing

Welcome back. NXT has been shaken up in a huge way over the last few months and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are going to stop anytime soon. The show has been changed from the ground up and there is very little left of what once was the original NXT. Now though, we are seeing something from the good old days, albeit with a fairly important part missing.
WWE has announced that NXT WarGames will be held on Sunday December 5. However, for the first time ever, the show will not be branded as a Takeover event. While not confirmed, this may suggest that NXT has retired the Takeover name. There have been no matches announced for the card, which will be the first special edition of NXT to not air in the regular Tuesday night slot.
There have been some pretty awesome WarGames matches. Check out some of them from NXT’s history:

NXT Live Coverage And Results – November 9, 2021

NXT
Date: November 9, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph
We’re back with more of this show and I’m not exactly sure what that means. Odds are it means more Toxic Attraction though, as the trio has been all over the show almost every single week as of late. Throw in more of the usual suspects and this hasn’t been the most thrilling time in NXT as of late. Let’s get to it.
Kayden Carter/Io Shirai/Kacy Catanzaro vs. Toxic Attraction Rose hammers on Carter to start and it’s quickly off to Dolin for more of the same. Carter fights up and brings in Shirai to take Jayne down by the leg. Catanzaro’s sliding trip takes Jayne down and a slingshot flip dive gets two. Jayne takes her into the corner though and it’s Rose coming back in, only to be send outside for a slingshot corkscrew dive. Carter dives onto Rose and Dolin but Rose cuts off Shirai’s dive.
We take a break and come back with Rose chinlocking Catanzaro whi..

WATCH: Two Stars Turn Heel On Monday Night Raw

It’s one of the best ways to go. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world and sometimes they can get a little stale. You can only do the same things for so long these days without needing something changed up, which can often be a big deal. One of the most prominent changes that can be made is by going from good to bad, which has already taken place twice this week.
There were two turns during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. First, Doudrop was annoyed at Bianca Belair being entered into another #1 contenders match. When Belair had the match won, Doudrop interfered and attacked her, becoming a villain in the process. Later, the show’s main event featured Kevin Owens facing Seth Rollins. Owens had spent the night trying to convince wrestlers that he was not evil before ultimately losing the match via countout. After the match, Owens attacked WWE Champion Big E.
It was an eventful night. Check out the turns and their fallout:

MJF’s Mother Bashes Him, Says She Is Embarrassed For Her Son

That’s how you treat a villain. Heels are an integral part of wrestling as a good evil wrestler is the way to draw fans into the arena. You need someone to break the rules and go after the good wrestlers to create conflict, which causes the matches to be made. A good heel is one of the most important thing you can have in a wrestling company and now a current one has reached quite the level.
Nina Friedman, the mother of AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman, appeared on Busted Open Radio and spoke about her son. Nina said that she believes her son should be the face of every advertisement for birth control as he is so disrespectful and ungrateful. She went on to say that Maxwell was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and how embarrassed she is of him and that she is not tolerating his “bull****.” Nina also wanted to know if she could file for emancipation from him. Earlier this year, Maxwell’s parents appeared on Dynamite with signs saying they couldn’t stand him either.
Now that’s how you..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 1997: That One Night

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

We had to get here eventually. This is the show that changes everything in wrestling, as we officially enter into the new era. It’s also the last appearance by Bret Hart in the WWF for nearly 13 years, as this show has the most infamous ending to a match and a show in wrestling history. You young people often hear references to Montreal? Well this is the show they’re..
