Big WWE Name Confirms Long Hiatus Was Due To Coronavirus

At least it’s better. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the world works and that absolutely includes professional wrestling. The pandemic has caused all kinds of changes around the world as the amount of cases have skyrocketed. Several wrestlers have been diagnosed with the virus as well, and now we know a big WWE name who missed a lot of time due to a positive test.
Monday Night Raw star Randy Orton was a guest on the Ringer Wrestling Show and revealed that he tested positive for the Coronavirus in June and missed seven weeks of action as a result. Orton said that he lost twenty pounds and had to rebuild his physique. This included cutting out alcohol and sugar while also beginning to train more. Orton wrestled on June 21 but did not wrestle again until August 9.
Opinion: That does explain a bit, as Orton just disappeared one day with little explanation for where he went. What matters most is that Orton is back in the ring and healthy, as the virus is nothing to play arou..

It’s A Gift For You: WWE Releases A Free Soundtrack

Call it a free gift. WWE is an international wrestling company and has its hands in a lot of things at the same time. That can make for some good and bad decisions, as some of the things they do might seem a little out there. With so many moves made, they are going to do some positives though and now they are offering something new. This time though, it has a price that is hard to beat.
WWE has released a soundtrack to NXT 2.0 for free. There are five songs on the soundtrack, though three of them are different versions of Make Em Fall by OllieJayy. In addition to the regular version, there are also a rock and a rap version. The soundtrack also includes two songs which are called program themes. There is no word on if WWE will be releasing any more music in the future.
There are a lot of songs. Check out what is included:

Title Change And Title Retirement Take Place On AEW Dynamite

There goes the gold. There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them are rather prestigious. At the same time, you can find some titles which do not mean quite as much as they have not been around long enough to build up a history. That was the case with a newly established AEW Title, but after only a few weeks of existence, it has already gone away.
This week’s AEW Dynamite featured a ladder match to unify the TNT Title and the Interim TNT Title. Interim champion Sammy Guevara defeated Cody Rhodes to become the unified champion, kicking off his second reign. The interim title was created when Rhodes was forced out of a title defense against Guevara at battle of the Belts. As a result, Guevara defeated Dustin Rhodes for the inaugural interim title.
Opinion: This is a surprising result as I would have bet on Cody retaining the title here. Guevara winning the title back was a nice moment, especially after that kind of a performance in the match. They were both laying ..

Danhausen Debuts In AEW

Very nice, very evil. On tonight’s episode of Dynamite, former ROH star Danhausen made his debut with AEW. He appeared under the ring when Adam Cole tried to grab a chair to use in his Lights Out match with Orange Cassidy in the main event.
You can see the video of the debut below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Danhausen has been out of action since Halloween of 2021, when he suffered an injury during an independent event. His current plan is to be back to in-ring competition by February of this year.
Editor’s Opinion:
I have to be completely honest: I have absolutely no idea who this person is. However, in doing my research for writing this article, it would seem that he has developed a cult following, which I am intrigued of learning more about. Also, the reaction from the crowd when he made his debut was legitimate, which tells me that there is something more to this character. I hope that Danhausen has success in AEW and I am very interested in learning more about..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – January 26, 2022

Dynamite
Date: January 26, 2022
Location: Wolstein Center, Cleveland, Ohio
Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone
It’s time for Beach Break, which is in Cleveland because when you think of going to the beach, you think of a place that is currently 12 degrees and on a lake. This week’s show is stacked, with a ladder match for the TNT Title and a Lights Out match where Orange Cassidy can beat Adam Cole but it doesn’t count. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
TNT Title: Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara Ladder match for the undisputed title. Cody starts fast with a dropkick and goes for the drop town uppercut, only to get blocked. The technical wrestling ensues until they head outside with Cody grabbing the ladder. That’s broken up so they head into the crowd (with Cody having to check on a fan he bumps into). Cody wins a slugout but stops to high five the fans, allowing Sammy to dive over the barricade with a cutter.
Back in and Sammy loads up the ladder but Cody is fine enoug..

Here’s What You Can Expect At WWE Elimination Chamber

Get your passports ready. WWE is an international wrestling company and that means they are going to be active in a lot of different places. That can make for some interesting moments, as you do not know where they might wind up. Some of their international events are a bit more controversial than others, and now we might have a better idea of what to expect for the show.
WWE has announced that they will be returning to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their annual Elimination Chamber event on Saturday February 19. While no matches have been announced outside of at least one Elimination Chamber match, some names have been announced for the show on WWE.com. The site is advertising the following names for the show:
Roman Reigns Becky Lynch Charlotte Mansoor Seth Rollins Bobby Lashley It is not clear what any of them will be doing at the show.
Opinion: These names might not be the biggest surprise as they are some of the bigger names in WWE at the moment. Mansoor is not exactly a surpri..

Long Expected Debut Not Taking Place At Royal Rumble

It might be a bit. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster today and it can be hard to keep track of all of them. With so many people out there, WWE can have issues finding something for everyone to do. Sometimes it seems that they have forgotten what they are doing, but this time it seems that they remember someone is there without doing anything about it. That will include this weekend.
Over the last several months, WWE has presented vignettes announcing that Veer Mahaan is on his way to Monday Night Raw. However, Mahaan has not appeared on the show in anything more than a vignette. According to PWInsider.com, there are no plans to have Mahaan appear in the Royal Rumble or on the show. There is no word on when Mahaan will appear on Monday Night Raw, though he has wrestled on Main Event.
Opinion: Mahaan is one of those wrestlers who could mean something if he had been given a regular chance, but there is only so much that can be done when he has been built up this much. Ultima..

Ring Of Honor TV – January 26, 2022

Ring Of Honor
Date: January 26, 2022
We took a little detour last week into the history of the women’s division but this time around we should be back to normal. Well, at least as normal as you can get while the company is on hiatus and we’re looking at the Best Of Ring of Honor. That could mean a few things, but odds are we’ll be seeing more of the recent stuff. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Narrator Ian Riccaboni welcomes us to the show, where we will be going back to Final Battle in December 2021.
TV Title: Dalton Castle vs. Rhett Titus vs. Joe Hendry vs. Silas Young Castle is defending and it’s one fall to a finish, with Castle bailing to the floor to walk into the crowd. Hendry gets taken outside so Young can send him into the barricade. Back in and Castle t-bone suplexes Young, meaning it’s time for a lap around the ring. Titus comes in for a quick rollup but gets sent outside for an apron flip dive from Young.
Hendry blasts Titus with a clothesline but gets belly to be..

KB’s Review: Rumble Vision

I’ve been a wrestling fan for a pretty long time now and I’ve seen quite a bit of the sport over the year. This includes all kinds of wrestling from around the world, including reviews of over 6,000 shows. There isn’t much I haven’t seen in one form or another, but there are certain things that I keep coming back to in one way or another. In less than a week, we will be back to it again, and this time I’ll be there in person. This weekend is the Royal Rumble, and this week we’ll be taking a general look at the match and talking about why it works as well as it does.
Scott Hall once called the battle royal the easiest match to explain to a non-wrestling fan. There’s nothing about a pin, a submission, grabbing a contract or a wrestler beating a ten count. You have thirty people in the ring and the last one left inside gets a prize. That doesn’t require a history of watching wrestling or any kind of a backstory. It’s literally a big free for all where the last person standing wins. That’..

Stick Around: Former AEW Champion Signs New Deal

Stick around for awhile. AEW has come a long way in just over three years of existence. There have been a lot of wrestlers who have appeared for the company in that time, but there has been a group who have been around since the beginning. That is not the biggest surprise, but the question becomes how many of them are going to stay around for the long term. Now we know another one who will be sticking around.
According to PWInsider.com, Frankie Kazarian has signed a new contract with AEW, though there is no word on how long the new deal will last. Kazarian was one of the first signings for the company and, along with Christopher Daniels as SCU, held the AEW Tag Team Titles, marking the first reign in the titles’ history. He most recently appeared last week on Dynamite, losing to Lance Archer.
Opinion: Keeping Kazarian around is certainly a good thing, as he is the kind of wrestler who can work well with anyone. That is a very valuable person to have around, as he can be a star in his..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – January 19, 2022

Ring of Honor
Date: January 19, 2022
We’re still on the road to April and that means it’s time for another Best Of show. These things have mainly been the Best Of the last year and it would be nice to see something different showcased. That being said, we are just over two months away from the relaunch so you might not want to go too deep into the vault. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Quinn McKay…is not here this week, as we will be looking at the women’s division.
We get a video on the women’s division and what it means to everyone involved.
Maria Kanellis-Bennett is ready to interview various women in the Women’s Title tournament. She has done a little bit of everything and now she is part of the Board of Directors. After the Coronavirus pandemic hit, she wanted to build something new and that is what she is doing here.
Some of the women in the tournament are very happy that they were given their Ticket To Gold, meaning their entrance to the tournament. Being in the tournam..

Details On Newly Announced Wrestling Hall Of Fame

They have the people. There are all kinds of championships and accomplishments that a wrestler can win, but unlike most other sports, those titles can be lost. A wrestler will be able to be known as a former champion, but there is something special about not having the ‘former” part attached. There are not many honors that last forever, but now one promotion is trying to do something about that.
Ring of Honor has announced the creation of its own Hall of Fame, with the first inductee being announced next week. After that, there ill be a new inductee announced every Tuesday in February. There is no word on when the first induction ceremony will take place. Ring of Honor debuted in February 2002 and will be marking its 20th anniversary, though the company is currently on hiatus and expecting to return in April.
Opinion: The first thing that came to my head was “how does Ring of Honor NOT have a Hall of Fame yet?” What makes Ring of Honor that much more interesting is how many different..
