There They Go: Two More Names Qualify For Money In The Bank On Second Try

The field is almost complete. We are less than a week away from WWE’s annual Money In The Bank event and the card is mostly set. As usual, the show will be built around the namesake ladder matches, which will feature several men and women vying for what is nearly a guaranteed title reign at some point in the next year. Now we know two more of the entrants.
This week on Monday Night Raw, two more people qualified for the Money In The Bank ladder matches. In the opening match on the show, Riddle won a battle royal, last eliminating the Miz, to earn his spot. Then, in the show’s main event, Becky Lynch won a five woman elimination match, last eliminating Doudrop, to become part of the women’s match. The completes the women’s field while the men’s has one spot remaining.
Opinion: This is the kind of night that the pay per view needed as you have two of the likely favorites joining the field in the span of three hours. Riddle is going to be a heavy favorite and Lynch is the biggest star i..

Call Back: WWE Confirms Celebrity Returning At Summerslam

He has a history there. Celebrities have been a part of wrestling for a very long time now and it makes a good deal of sense. Fans of the celebrities care about what they are doing and wrestling fans get to see what happens when someone famous comes into their world. It turns out that some of them are quite the athletes too, and that might be the case again with a celebrity coming back at Summerslam.
This week on Monday Night Raw, the Miz was asked about Logan Paul training at the WWE Performance Center. Miz said that the two of them would be teaming together again at Summerslam on July 30. This comes after Miz attacked Paul after their victory over the Mysterios at WrestleMania 38, which Miz referred to as a lesson to Paul. There is no word on what Paul and Miz will be doing at Summerslam.
Opinion: I don’t think it was a secret that Paul would be back in WWE in some way, but at least now we have an idea of what he is going to be doing. Above all else, it helps to have someone with h..

Monday Night Raw Results – June 27, 2022

Monday Night Raw
Date: June 27, 2022
Location: Sames Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas
Commentators: Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith
It’s a very special night as John Cena is here to celebrate twenty years (to the day) of his WWE debut. That should be enough to carry the night and that might need to be the case. This is also the go home edition of Raw for Money In The Bank, meaning it’s time to build momentum, establish dominance, and maybe even come up with an original tagline for what the participants are doing. Let’s get to it.
Earlier today, John Cena returned to quite the hero’s welcome, meeting a bunch of applauding wrestlers and backstage workers.
Money In The Bank Qualifying Match: Battle Royal T-Bar, Mustafa Ali, Shanky, Akira Tozawa, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jinder Mahal, Riddle, Miz, AJ Styles, Ciampa, Reggie, Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, Veer Mahaan

Adam Cole Reportedly Suffers Serious Injury At Forbidden Door

It’s always a possibility. Wrestling is a contact sport and there is always the chance that something could go wrong. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and be taken out of the ring. There is an even bigger chance of something going wrong during a match and unfortunately that was the case this weekend in a high profile match at Forbidden Door.
This weekend’s Forbidden Door event featured a four way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight title as Adam Cole, Hangman Page and Kazuchika Okada all challenged Jay White. According to F4WOnline.com, Cole suffered a concussion during the match, which ended when Cole collapsed and was pinned by White. While not shown on screen, commentary did say that Cole walked to the back on his own power. There is no word on how long it will be before Cole can return to the ring.
Opinion: Concussion is one of the scariest words in wrestling as you never know how severe one of them is going to be. Cole could be out of action for more th..

Look Who’s Back: Next Ring Of Honor Event Officially Announced

Welcome back. There are several wrestling promotions in the world but not many of them have been around for very long. Several of these promotions do not last very long for one reason or another so it means a lot to see one of them being around for a very long time. That is the case with Ring Of Honor, and now we know when the promotion will be coming back for more.
AEW held its traditional media scrum after this weekend’s Forbidden Door event with AEW President and Ring Of Honor Honor Tony Khan answering questions. During the event, Khan revealed that Ring Of Honor would be holding Death Before Dishonor on July 23 from the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. This will be the first Ring Of Honor event since Supercard of Honor on April 1.
Opinion: They had to do this at some point, as Ring Of Honor has only been existing as a plot device on AEW TV for months now. At some point that isn’t enough and they need to run another show of their own. I hope this doesn’t mean another month..

Update On Jungle Boy’s Injury Status

That could be worse. There is very little in wrestling harder to watch than someone getting hurt. You don’t know what is going on at the moment and there are a lot of questions that come with it. One of the biggest is what is wrong, which leads to the question of how long before someone can get back in the ring. Now we might know a bit more about one of those questions.
Earlier this week, news broke that AEW’s Jungle Boy was suffering from a legitimate injury and would be missing some time. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the injury was confirmed to be a shoulder injury, though there is still no word on when or how the injury took place. It is suspected but not confirmed that it took place in the ladder match on the June 15 Dynamite.
Opinion: This could be worse as a shoulder injury is a nasty thing to endure but at least it is something that isn’t related to his head. Jungle Boy is one of the better stars in AEW today and it would be a shame to see him miss that much time. If..

Check Him Out: Celebrity Teases WWE Match By Training In A Ring

It’s a way to get people watching. Wrestling has a long history of working with celebrities, including bringing them into the ring. This opens up a variety of new doors for both stories as well as fans, as you do not know what you are going to get to see or how a celebrity will do in the ring. That seems to be the case again at an upcoming show and there is potential for some success.
Logan Paul has posted some photos to his Twitter showing him training in a wrestling ring, with WWE producer Shane Helms being visible in the ring as well. The photos appear to be from the WWE Performance Center, suggesting that Paul may be working with WWE. Paul has appeared for WWE before, including a match at WrestleMania 38 where he teamed with the Miz, who turned on him after the match. There is no word on a match between Miz and Paul at the moment.

A Big Night: Multiple New Champions Crowned At AEW Forbidden Door

That’s the main point. Titles are often the centerpiece of a wrestling promotion because everyone understands how they work. A championship is the kind of thing that tells a fan who is the best wrestler around and one of them changing hands can make a huge difference. That was the case again this weekend, as several titles changed hands on a single night.
AEW held its Forbidden Door event on Sunday night and multiple titles changed hands. First up, FTR won the IWGP Tag Team Titles by defeating Roppongi Vice and reigning champions the United Empire. FTR also retained their Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles in the process. Next, Pac became the inaugural All-Atlantic Champion by defeating Malakai Black, Clark Connors and Miro in a four way match.
Finally, Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event to win the inaugural Interim AEW World Title. AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa, IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White all retained th..

Him Too: Former WWE Star Makes AEW Debut At Forbidden Door

There’s your new name. AEW has come a long way in just over three years of existence and a lot of its success comes from its roster. The company has more stars than it knows what to do with from around the world. As a result, the company is able to present a variety of matches with different kinds of stars and now they have a new international star to add to the list.
AEW’s Forbidden Door pay per view includes a match between Zack Sabre Jr. and a mystery opponent. Sabre Jr.’s original opponent was scheduled to be Bryan Danielson, but an injury forced him from the match. Danielson hand picked an opponent in Claudio Castagnoli, better known as Cesaro, who defeated Sabre Jr. in the match. Castagnoli has since been announced as an official part of the AEW roster.
Welcome to the team, @ClaudioCSRO!
Claudio Castagnoli is ALL ELITE!
See you this Wednesday Night for #AEWDynamite #BloodAndGuts!

AEW Forbidden Door Live Coverage And Results

Forbidden Door
Date: June 26, 2022
Location: United Center, Chicago, Illinois
Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone
It’s a special show as we have a host of international guest stars from New Japan coming in for a bunch of big time matches. The main event is for the Interim AEW World Title as CM Punk being stripped of the title was off the table. Other than that, we have a series of title matches which should make for a great show. Let’s get to it.
Buy-In: Hirooki Goto/Yoshi-Hashi vs. QT Marshall/Aaron Solo Solo and Hashi start things off with Hashi working on a headlock. A running shoulder drops Solo again so it’s off to Marshall vs. Goto, with the latter knocking Marshall around without much trouble. Solo comes back in and cheap shots Hashi though, allowing Marshall to get in a cheap shot on Goto. That lasts all of a few seconds before the big beatdown is on to put Solo back in trouble. Everything breaks down and Marshall’s cartwheel tumbling dive drops Goto and Hashi.

AEW Forbidden Door Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

This is a special show as we will be getting a big crossover between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling in a series of….I guess you would call them dream matches. The show has had a lot of things thrown onto the card in a short amount of time and the build has been ok for the most part. The good thing is that the action itself should be more than enough to make it work, so hopefully they can live up to the hype. Let’s get to it.
Buy-In Show: Gunn Club/Max Caster vs. Yuya Uemura/Alex Coughlin/DKC/Kevin Knight We have the AEW mashup team against the Young Lions and that is a good way to go here. Throw in Billy Gunn to make things work and be the in-ring coach and it should work out well enough. I’ve seen the Lions before and they’re capable of having some good stuff, so the pieces are set up here. Give them a few minutes and let them warm the crowd up and everything should be ok.
I’ll take the Young Lions to win here, as pinning one of the Gunns isn’t going to hurt them that much. If noth..

More Details On AEW’s Blood & Guts Match, To Be Bigger This Year

They have a plan for that. While Forbidden Door is coming up later this weekend, there is another major AEW event taking place in less than a week. That would be a special edition of Dynamite, featuring the second ever Blood & Guts match. The match is AEW’s version of the classic WarGames match and is extremely violent. Now we have a bit of an update on what to expect from the whole thing.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is expected to be six on six, an upgrade from last year’s five on five. The match is expected to feature Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker vs. Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Santana, Ortiz, Wheeler Yuta and a mystery partner. Yuta was always planned for the match and is the reason why Guevara was added to the other side.
Opinion: That is quite a bit for a single match but at least they are going to have two rings to space things out a bit more. Blood & Guts is a match idea that has worked for..
