Vince McMahon Reportedly Fined Michael Cole For Using Three Letter Word On TV

It would only be from him. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the retirement of Vince McMahon from WWE. For the first time in almost forty years, there is a new boss in the company and that means there are going to be some different rules in place. That means some of McMahon’s rules are gone, including one that got the voice of WWE in trouble one day.
According to Brian Gerwitz in his book “There’s Just One Problem…: True Tales from the Former, One-Time, 7th Most Powerful Person in WWE.”, McMahon once fined Michael Cole for using the word “now” at the end of sentences. McMahon would fine Cole every time he used the word, which eventually was enough to make Cole stop using the word. Gerwitz did not mention the amount of the fine.
Opinion: That is as McMahon of a story as I could imagine and it isn’t anything close to a surprise. McMahon liked things his way and there was nothing that was going to stop him from having the show the way he wanted it. This might seem a bit e..

AEW Officially Offers Contract To Top Independent Star

They’re interested. AEW has opened a lot of doors for wrestlers to be able to appear on a national stage for the first time in their careers. While WWE had long since been the only major game in the industry, the number of spots has since gone way up. There have been some very talented names filling those spots and now AEW is making an attempt to pick up another one.
The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Bandido unsuccessfully challenge Chris Jericho for the Ring Of Honor World Title. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW offered Bandido a full time contract based on his performance, though there is no word on if Bandido has signed the deal. Bandido is a former Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion.
Opinion: The only reason I can think of for Bandido to not have been signed to a major promotion is that he doesn’t want to. He has more charisma and talent than most wrestlers on national rosters today and it would make all the sense i..

Drew McIntyre Discusses Possible Heel Turn, What He Would Want To Do

That would be a change. There are different ways to freshen up a star in wrestling and some of them are rather simple concepts. One of the best ways is to turn someone from bad to good or vice versa, as such a change can freshen someone up almost immediately. It changes everything around and can give a wrestler a different attitude. Now a top WWE star is interested in making such a switch.
Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre appeared on NBC Boston’s The Ten Count podcast and discussed the possibility of a heel turn. McIntyre said that if he were to ever turn heel again, he would not want to be the angry big man again. Instead, McIntyre wants to educate himself on who he is and be more interested the second time around. McIntyre was speaking hypothetically and there is nothing to indicate that McIntyre will be turning anytime soon.
Opinion: This is something that does seem to be a possibility down the line and it is something that could go well if that is what WWE decides to do. McIntyr..

RUMOR KILLER On Major WWE Departure

He’s not going anywhere. There have been a lot of changes in recent weeks both behind and in front of the scenes of WWE. Those changes have resulted in all kinds of situations that would have been hard to fathom just a few months ago. Several former top names of the promotion have left, but in this case one of the bigger names is actually sticking around for the time being.
According to PWInsider, there is no truth to various rumors that WWE executive Kevin Dunn is leaving the company. Such stories have appeared on social media but there is no truth to them whatsoever. Dunn is a longtime employee of WWE and has executive produced its television shows for nearly thirty years. Dunn has been reported to be departing the promotion for several months but nothing has come of it.
Opinion: This is one of those stories that seems to keep popping up but Dunn seems happy in the company for the time being. I would not be surprised to see him leave the company one day in the future but if he is s..

Robert Roode Undergoes Medical Procedure In Birmingham, Alabama

That’s a valid reason. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy to lose track of some of them. When someone goes away, you might miss them at first but then they have been gone so long that they are forgotten altogether. That is the situation with a current WWE star who has been missing for a good while but now we might know where he has been.
WWE’s Robert Roode has revealed on Instagram that he underwent a medical procedure in Birmingham, Alabama this week. There is no word on what kind of procedure it was or how severe Roode’s condition was prior to the procedure. Roode has not wrestled since a live event on June 25 and there is no word on when he will be returning to the ring following his procedure.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Robert Roode (@realrobertroode)
Opinion: That does explain a few things, as Roode has not been around for a rather long time now. It was weird not seeing him around whatsoever and hopefully he can be back in the ring sooner..

Here’s What WWE’s White Rabbit Will Likely Be Revealed

Out of the burrow? Every now and then, a WWE storyline captures the imaginations of fans in a positive way. It can give fans something that holds their entrance and makes them wonder where everything is going. That can make for some great build but what matters is sticking the landing. Now we know when the landing of a current WWE landing needs to be stuck.
Over the last few weeks, WWE has been running the White Rabbit storyline, which has not included anything taking place on television. Instead, WWE has run moments on live events and aired QR codes leading fans to clues. This has led to speculation about where the story is leading. According to Fightful Select, the reveal is expected to take place at Extreme Rules on October 8, though it is not clear if the person involved in the angle will appear at the show. The person behind the angle is still unknown.
Opinion: This would make the most sense as Extreme Rules is the next major event on the WWE calendar. While signs point to this ..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE High On Superstar, Future Plans Set

He’ll be around. With so much talent on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. There are certain people who are going to be able get on television almost every week, but at some point there is going to be a need for some fresh blood. That can do a lot of good for the roster, and now it seems to be good for one of its prominent stars.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, the new WWE regime is high on Finn Balor and has significant plans for him going forward. It is not clear what those plans are, but Balor is expected to be featured in the foreseeable future. Balor is currently part of the Judgment Day stable and is set to face Edge in an I Quit match at Extreme Rules on October 8.
I’m told that significant plans are lined up for Finn Balor in the future. I don’t know exactly for what those plans are, but he is a strong favorite of the new leadership group. Expect Finn to play a big role in the foreseeable future of WWE.

Positive Injury Update On NXT Star, Back Sooner Than Expected

It could be a worse situation. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling as you never know how long someone is going to be out of action. Someone can get hurt in the middle of a match and go on the shelf for a very long time as a result. One of the hardest parts of an injury is wondering just how bad things are, and now we know a bit more about what has happened.
This week on NXT, Tony D’Angelo was injured during a match, resulting in the referee calling a stoppage and awarding the match to Wes Lee. Commentary suggested that D’Angelo had suffered a knee injury but no more details were given. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, D’Angelo will NOT need surgery and while he is hurt, he will be back “sooner than you would think”.
Opinion: That is rather good to hear as you would never want to see someone go on the shelf for any length of time, let alone due to requiring surgery. D’Angelo is a promising prospect and I’m interested in seeing where he goes from he..

WWE Adds Another Violent Match To Extreme Rules

It’s kind of the point of the show. With so many WWE events out there, each one needs something to make them stand out more than the others. That is why WWE has added a gimmick to most of its major shows and next month’s will be no exception. We are coming up on another of WWE’s themed shows and now they have added another logical match to the card.
WWE has announced that Imperium will face the Brawling Brutes in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match at Extreme Rules. The match will be under anything goes rules with all six fighting at the same time. The teams have been feuding for several weeks, including Gunther vs. Sheamus facing off at Clash At The Castle for the Intercontinental Title. Extreme Rules takes place on October 8.
Opinion: This is a match that makes all the sense in the world for Extreme Rules as it is a feud that leads into more physicality and violence. That is the point of a show like Extreme Rules and we should be in for a heck of a fight. If nothing else, it prev..

Miro Explains Why He Has Been Gone From AEW (In His Own Special Way)

That’s a good reason. There are a lot of talented stars on the AEW roster, which can create the problem of finding something for everyone to do. While there are all kinds of stars in the company, not everyone gets to appear very often. It can be notable when someone is gone so often and now one AEW star is addressing why he has not been around very often as of late.
A fan on Twitter recently pointed out that Miro has not wrestled on AEW Dynamite in over three months. Miro responded to the fan, saying that he has been gone because “nobody has the balls”. This comes after Miro has not wrestled since All Out on September 4. This was his first match since June 26 and one of only four matches that he has wrestled this year. Miro was out of action due to an injury most of the first half of the year.

Opinion: Miro continues to be one of those “where is he” guys in AEW and there are more than one of them. Th..

Hurricane Ian Causes Several Changes To AEW Dynamite And Rampage

That’s a valid reason. Wrestling shows take a lot of preparation and the higher you go in the wrestling industry, the more effort they require. That is certainly true of weekly national television shows, and sometimes there are factors that impact the show that are beyond anyone’s control. That was the case this week as several names missed a television taping due to a serious situation.
According to Fightful Select, several wrestlers missed this week’s AEW Dynamite and Rampage taping due to the impact of Hurricane Ian, which has been ravaging Florida. Two of the names who were unable to make the show were Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe, with several others likely not being present. Earlier this week, AEW President Tony Khan excused any wrestler who lived in the hurricane’s path from being at the show.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you do not see happen very often and what matters most is that all of the wrestlers and their families are safe. You never want to see somethin..

Bobby Fish Shoots Down Rumors Of WWE Jump, Talks Disappointment With Story

He would know. There have been all kinds of stories surfacing over the last few weeks involving wrestlers possibly jumping from one promotion to another. This has created some issues as there are all kinds of rumors and possible stories out there, plus varying sources on every story. The best option is to hear it from the wrestlers themselves, and that is the case again.
One of the stories involving wrestlers jumping from one promotion to another involves Bobby Fish, who has just left AEW, attempting to get Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole to join him in a jump back to WWE. Fish addressed the story on the latest edition of his Undisputed podcast, saying that the story was “totally fabricated information”. Fish went on to say that he was disappointed that so many outlets, including Jim Cornette, carried the story. Since leaving AEW, Fish has debuted for Impact Wrestling.
