Sometimes you need to shake it up. WWE has all kinds of wrestlers on its roster, to the point where they can be spread across multiple groups. This includes Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, each of whom have their own unique group of stars. Every so often, WWE needs to mix things up though and now we might have an idea of when that will be coming next.

There was no WWE Draft this fall, breaking a three year stretch of holding the event in the fall. Though there had been discussions to hold a Draft after Clash At The Castle in October, nothing came of them. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has been discussing not having the next Draft until after WrestleMania. There is no confirmed date though and WWE has given no public indication of when it might take place.

That’s rather serious. There are all kinds of issues that can take place before, during and after a wrestling match that can put wrestlers in danger. It can create various problems for anyone and some of them can be very serious. Now a wrestler is revealing how rough things got for him during a recent nationally televised match that you probably didn’t notice at the time.

Back on the November 2 Dynamite, Colt Cabana made a surprise appearance and unsuccessfully challenged Chris Jericho for the Ring Of Honor World Title. Cabana has since spoken about the match on his Art Of Wrestling podcast, revealing that choosing to wear a pair of compression socks caused issues during the match. One of the best things that you will see is a big surprise, which was the case earlier this week with a special return. Now though, we are getting to see what set things up from a different perspective that is not always available to the fans.

This week on SmackDown, Becky Lynch made her WWE return after missing three months due to a shoulder injury. Lynch was unveiled as the fifth member of Team Belair in the women’s Survivor Series WarGames match. Belair introduced her and started a brawl in the ring, though WWE has released a video her Lynch backstage waiting to come through the curtain. That’s a weird line to draw in the sand. There have been a lot of returns to WWE this year, with several stars coming back to the company after an extended absence. The returns have made for some great moments as the question becomes who will be returning next. Now though, one name has drawn a line in the sand over what will make her walk away from the company.

Earlier this month, Mia Yim made her return to WWE after about a year long absence and joined the OC to help take care of Rhea Ripley. During an interview with Bleav In Pro Wrestling, Yim discussed her them upcoming WarGames match at Survivor Series. When asked who she wanted to team with, Yim said that if she was asked to team with Shelton Benjamin, she would ask to be released from WWE. Yim said this with a grin, as she has spoken about her close friendship with Benjamin over the years, Yim’s team would go on to win the WarGames match.

It’s time for WarGames and no that still doesn’t feel right to say. We have a men’s and women’s version of the match here and that should make for a great core of the show. There are only five matches on the card but double WarGames is probably enough to carry things, especially with the Bloodline vs. Team Drew McIntyre as the likely headliner. Let’s get to it.

Well, maybe? WWE is in the middle of a series of huge changes and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are ending anytime soon. Some of the changes involve the company premium live events calendar changing, but very little has been confirmed so far. Now we are hearing a little bit more about this from one of the most powerful people in wrestling today.

WWE held a press conference after this weekend’s Survivor Series event, featuring WWE Head Of Creative Triple H answering questions. Triple H spoke about the idea of themed events, such as Money In The Bank, Elimination Chamber and Hell In A Cell continuing. Regarding Hell In A Cell, Triple H said that it was the match that made sense as a challenge match to end a feud, such as how he and Mick Foley faced off at No Way Out 2000. Hand it over. Winning a title can be the kind of change that makes all the difference in the world for a wrestler’s career. A wrestler becoming a champion for the first time often suggests that the promotion is moving them up to the next level and that there is some hope for your future. That being said, winning a title for the second time is an even more positive sign and that was the case this weekend.

This weekend at Survivor Series 2022, Austin Theory defeated Bobby Lashley and reigning champion Seth Rollins to become the United States Champion for the second time. Theory held the title for about two and a half months earlier this years, with Lashley and then Rollins taking it. The title win comes after Theory declared his intent to become more serious and violent.

It’s a dangerous sport. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to be written off of television and many of them can be used to advance a storyline. These can be in the form of another wrestler doing something to get rid of their rival, including attacking them rather violently. That happened twice this week and it has resulted in a wrestler being written onto the shelf.

This week’s SmackDown featured a backstage segment where Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler attacked Raquel Rodriguez and slammed her arm in an equipment case. Later in the night, Rodriguez teamed with Shotzi against Baszler and Rousey, both of whom did further damage to her arm. Shotzi announced that Rodriguez had suffered a broken arm and a dislocated elbow. There is no word on how long Rodriguez will be out of action, though there is nothing to suggest that this is anything but a storyline.

It’s time for Survivor Series and for the first time in years, there is a feeling of interest about the show. Instead of the completely dead in the water Raw vs. Smackdown Battle For Brand Supremacy, WWE has thrown their old ideas out the window and brought in a pair of WarGames matches. That alone should be enough to carry the show and….well there are only three more matches so WarGames is kind of carrying things. Let’s get to it.
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor I would have bet on this being the elimination match but instead we’ll just have Judgment Day and the OC at ringside to make things more crowded. Then again, I think I can go with the idea of Balor vs. Styles on a major show and likely getting a lot of time. That being said, Styles hasn’t won a singles match on pay per view in something like three years, so there might not be so much drama.

Immediately upon his debut, Lesnar was presented as The Next Big Thing and he has been a monster in the company during his on and off career. Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Title less than a month before the match, following an announced match between Mahal and Lesnar. Family feud? The last two plus years in WWE have been all about Roman Reigns. With one of the longest World Title reigns in history, there is no way of knowing how long it will be before Reigns finally loses his title. Several names have wanted to get in on the Reigns train, and now we are seeing another member a very prominent wrestling family throwing his hat into the ring.

During the second season of the Young Rock series, the Rock’s character teased a future WrestleMania match with Reigns. This match has been rumored for WrestleMania 39 in April 2023, though nothing has been confirmed.
