Generations gap. There have been all kinds of stars throughout WWE’s history, though only a few of them have been able to become legends. Those stars are some of the most well remembered names in wrestling history and they will occasionally pop up here and there. Sometimes you will see them get together with a similar modern star and that is the idea that has been pitched again.

Over the last two weeks, vignettes have aired on SmackDown, showing Lacey Evans training with the United States Marine Corps. Evans, a former member of the Corps, has spoken about wanting to get back to basics. This led to a fan asking WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter if he would train her. In response, Slaughter said that he would love to, but said that Evans would have to make it through Camp Slaughter. Evans then sent out a tweet of her own, asking where she reported in. Final Battle 2022

It’s the third or so Ring Of Honor event of the year, assuming you don’t count a good chunk of the Rampages from earlier this year. The main event of the show is (probably) Chris Jericho defending the Ring Of Honor World Title against Claudio Castagnoli, with a bonus feature of FTR vs. the Briscoes in a dog collar match for FTR’s Tag Team Titles. Let’s get to it.
Zero Hour: Mascara Dorada vs. Jeff Cobb Dorada (better known as Gran Metalik) gets nowhere off a shoulder so a springboard flip is enough to put Cobb on the floor. The dive is pulled out of the air though and Cobb posts him hard to take over. Back in and Cobb stands on his back for a surfing pose, followed by a heck of a shot to the face for two. Cobb misses a charge into the corner though and Dorada sends him outside again, this time for the big flip dive.

What we have here is something of a concept show, as two of the five announced matches are Iron Survivor Challenges. Those are going to take up the better part of an hour between the two of them, even though they’re just #1 contenders matches. We also have a pair of title matches and a grudge match to give it that NXT feel though, so let’s get to it.
The opening video is about the value of time, including in the Iron Survivor Challenges.
Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge So we have five entrants and a twenty five minute time limit. Two people start things off and another enters every five minutes. You get a point for a fall (nothing to suggest you can lose points) and whomever you beat goes to a penalty box for a minute and a half. The most points in twenty five minutes wins and is the new #1 contender.

Hand them over. Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling. They represent the best and often most talented stars in the promotion and are often the main focal points. It can mean a lot when a title changes hands and there are nights when several of them change hands during the same show. That was the case this weekend, with a special double shot.

There were two major events held on Saturday, with Ring Of Honor Final Battle and NXT Deadline. Between the two shows, there were eight title matches with six title changes. The following titles changed hands at Final Battle:

• The Embassy defeated Dalton Castle and the Boys to win the Six Man Tag Team Titles

It’s something. One of the more interesting wrestling stories of the year has been the roller coaster that is Ring Of Honor. After being shut down for several months to start the year, the promotion was purchased by AEW owner Tony Khan and somewhat relaunched on AEW television. However, Ring Of Honor did not have any kind of distribution of its own. Now things have changed in a big way.

During this weekend’s post Final Battle media scrum, Khan announced that Ring Of Honor will have its weekly television show on the HonorClub streaming service, which relaunched earlier this week. The service costs $9.99 a month and includes all of the Ring Of Honor video library. There is no specific date on when the show will launch, but Khan said an announcement was coming after the Los Angeles and Seattle shows. Khan also said that there will be less of a focus on Ring Of Honor on AEW programming.

It might be a bit. We are closing in on the end of the year and in WWE, that means it is time to start the Road To WrestleMania. Next year, the biggest event of the year will take place near Hollywood, California and that means WWE is going to want to bring out even more top names than usual. It just turns out that one of them might not be available due to other commitments.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, John Cena may not be available for next year’s WrestleMania 39 due to a film shoot. Cena is set to be in Australia during February and March, filming a comedy called Ricky Stanicky. While Cena could still make WrestleMania on April 1 and 2, he would not likely be around for television to build any potential match. Cena is currently scheduled for the December 30 SmackDown in Tampa, Florida

That could make things awkward. Wrestling has changed quite a bit in the last few decades, as WWE has allowed wrestlers to stay in one place for a lot longer than they might have back in the territory days. That means wrestlers are going to be seen for a good while, which in this case led to a rather unique situation between two wrestlers, one of whom is a good bit older.

According to the Sportster, Sasha Banks was interviewed by MTV’s Total Request Live in 2018 and revealed that when she was a child, she had a crush on SmackDown’s Sheamus. Banks, 14 years younger than Sheamus, said that she thought Sheamus was cute when she was a child. Sheamus is currently a SmackDown star while Banks has been absent from WWE since walking out on the company in May.

It’s time to wrap up the Ring Of Honor year with its third event, as Final Battle closes us out. As you might expect, this is mainly going to be about AEW stars as Ring Of Honor is less a promotion than a really big and loosely connected angle on AEW TV at the moment. We have a double main event of FTR defending the Tag Team Titles against the Briscoes in a double dog collar match, plus Claudio Castagnoli challenging Chris Jericho for the Ring Of honor World Title. Yeah that should work. Let’s get to it.
Zero Hour: Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Shinobi Shadow Squad This is one of the several added matches to flesh out the card, or in this case the card that happens before the card. The Squad is one of those teams who pops up all the time in Ring Of Honor but rarely gets to do anything important. In other words, they are perfect to face a pair of goofs like Menard and Parker in a match with absolutely nothing at stake in a spot like this.

The main event here is a triple threat between World Champion Dalton Castle, Cody and Marty Scurll but the real highlight should be the Young Bucks challenging the Briscoes for the Tag Team Titles..

We are a day away from Ring Of Honor Final Battle and odds are we are going to be seeing some of the very last build to the show. Other than that we have what should be a heck of a match between Konosuke Takeshita vs. Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy defending the All-Atlantic Title against a mystery challenger. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita Moxley takes him down by the arm to start before it’s time to stand and trade chops. With that not working, Moxley bites Takeshita’s head in the corner and then chops some more. With Don Callis watching, Takeshita sends him outside and over the barricade as we take a break. Back with Moxley (bleeding) getting two off a piledriver but getting caught with a heck of a clothesline.
Takeshita sends him to the apron, setting up a slingshot DDT for two back inside. What looked like a Blue Thunde..

Two at once? Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling and sometimes they can show up out of nowhere. Occasionally you can see them take place and know right when it happened, but there are also instances where you only find out after the fact. Now two top WWE stars are both on the shelf for the time being with identical injuries that showed up in different ways.
