A different look. There are a lot of different wrestlers on any given roster, but some of them are even more unique as their significant other is also involved in the wrestling business. You do not see that happening very often, but it can make for a rather interesting subject. It might be interesting enough to take a special look at them, which is what WWE may be trying to do.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been in talks with the E Network about a reality show based around wrestling couples. WWE is reportedly looking for “legitimate” wrestling couples, though it is not known who might be included in the series. There is also no word on if the series has been finalized, though WWE and E do have a history together with Total Divas and Total Bellas.

Moving up in the world. As previously reported, William Regal is returning to WWE after his contract expires with AEW this month. However, it seems he will be returning to a different role than before.
According to a report from PWInsider, Regal will have a Vice President position in the company when he returns, but it is not yet known what his official title/role will be. He will return to the company beginning in January 2023.
Regal was written off of AEW television a couple of weeks ago when MJF knocked him out with the same brass knuckles that Regal gave him to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Further according to Tony Khan, Regal can return to WWE and coach but not be an on-air personality in 2023.

That’s a big one. We are less than four months away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start getting ready for the biggest event of the year. It is already time to start setting the stage for some of the matches and getting things ready in advance. WWE might even already have some plans made for a showdown between two of the hardest hitting stars they have to offer.

According to Wrestlingnews.co, a match between Gunther and Brock Lesnar is internally listed for WrestleMania 39. There is no word on if Gunther’s Intercontinental Title would be on the line, or if Gunther would still be champion at the time. In addition, Triple H is said to have already laid out the show’s most important matches, while Vince McMahon would have changed his mind several times already.

AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF was recently interviewed by TODAY and discussed a number of topics. Among them was the character that he plays on television, being a Jewish athlete, his future in pro wrestling, and more.
Below are some highlights from the interview:
On the character that MJF plays compared to real life:
“This is me 100% of the time, 365 days a year. It doesn’t change. You can ask people in my industry — and people have — and then fans are like, ‘Oh, these other people are just keeping up the ruse.’ This is me,” he says.
On being a Jewish athlete:
“How much of that is deep-rooted in antisemitism and how much of that is deep-rooted in jealousy and wishing that these people were in the position I’m in? I don’t know. But what I do know is it doesn’t make it OK,” he says.

They have a plan for that. With so many wrestlers under the WWE banner, it can be quite the trick to keep track of them all. WWE has put together something of a conveyor belt of stars, with NXT names being promoted to the main roster. The company has it down to something of a science and now we know a lot more about what kind of process they have put together.

Fightful Select has published a new report on how WWE handles NXT callups to the main roster. In recent months, WWE has brought in several NXT stars for appearances on Main Event. This has been done as a way to see what wrestlers look like outside of the Performance Center and does not necessarily mean it is a promotion. That’s how you go out. Wrestlers retiring can be a little tricky as they can always be asked to wrestle one more time. There is always the chance that someone could come back and get in the ring, but occasionally you will see someone get to wrestle their last match and hang up their boots for good. Earlier this year, WWE producer Jamie Noble, 45, announced that he would be wrestling one final match in his home state of West Virginia to end his in-ring career. The match took place this weekend at a WWE live event in Charleston, West Virginia, featuring Noble teaming with the Brawling Brutes and Braun Strowman to defeat the Bloodline, with Noble scoring the fall on Sami Zayn. This was Noble’s first match since June 2015 and ends his career, which began in 1997.

It can mean something to see them show up again after an absence, which can come for one reason or another. Sometimes a wrestler has to miss some time due to an injury, and now it seems that we are ready for another return from a missing star.

During this weekend’s NXT Deadline event, a vignette aired advertising the New Year’s Evil special on January 10. The vignette featured a woman whose face was not seen. According to Wrestletalk.com, the woman is Tiffany Stratton, who is likely returning at the event. Stratton has been out of action since the August 23 edition of NXT due to a head injury. There is no word on what Stratton will be doing at the show.

Another one for the history books. This past Sunday at NXT Deadline, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods captured the NXT tag team championships by defeating Pretty Deadly. While this was a great moment for The New Day, this championship victory was also historic in a number of ways.
As a result of their victory, Kingston broke the record for the most tag team championships in WWE history with 15. The previous record was held by Booker T, who had 14 championship reigns.

That’s a game changer. There have been all kinds of wrestling stories this year and one of the most intriguing has been that of Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on WWE. The two have not appeared on WWE TV since May and there is no word on when the two might be returning. Now though, we have an update on one of them that suggests that she will not be back at all.

Earlier this week, a report emerged that Banks would be appearing at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 next month. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, outside of a last minute change, Banks is considered “done” with WWE. The two sides are said to be very far apart on money and Banks’ current contract is expected to expire at the end of the year. Banks is not expected to wrestle at Wrestle Kingdom but she does have more dates set with the company for after the show.

There are several weeks where a wrestler might not get to appear, but if that happens too often, it can be come a problem in their career. He is still expected to return soon and has been talking to AEW about ideas.
