Welcome back. There are all kinds of things that go into making a wrestling character work. If the package isn’t entirely right, things might not go as planned. This can require all kinds of tweaks and adjustments, with a star occasionally needing to be switched up in a big way. Now another WWE star will be doing just that and we know when to expect the debut of the new presentation.

Over the last few weeks, WWE has aired a series of vignettes featuring Lacey Evans training with the United States Marine Corps. Evans, a former member of the Corps, has not wrestled a match in over a month. This week on SmackDown, another vignette aired, announcing that Evans will be returning on next week’s show. There is no word on whether she will be wrestling or not.

It’s a taped show from Chicago, which means the fans should be livelier than most regular crowds. Since it is the Christmas season, the main event is a Miracle On 34th Street Fight as Ricochet and Braun Strowman vs. Imperium, but we also have a gauntlet match for a future Women’s Title match. Let’s get to it.
Here is the Bloodline to get things going. Paul Heyman talks about all of their upcoming wins, including the Usos defeating Hit Row later tonight and Solo Sikoa getting another victory. Next week though, it’s the biggest televised match of the year, as Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn team up to defeat Kevin Owens and John Cena. Reigns get the mic, but has to pause for a SAMI chant. Next week, Reigns is going to SMASH someone, but Sami is looking a little off.

That’s a bit more serious. There are a lot of people who come together to make a WWE show work and several of them are rarely seen on camera. In addition to the wrestlers who get all of the spotlight, there are all kinds of people who work hard to make the show a success. Those are people who help get the wrestlers ready, but WWE almost let one go over a recent incident.

Earlier this month, a story broke about D-Von Dudley being pulled from the Battleground Championship Wrestling “Tribute To The Extreme” event in Philadelphia. The promotion has said that the issue was a misunderstanding, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dudley was nearly fired over the incident.

Maybe or not. We are just over three months away from WrestleMania 39 and that means WWE is starting to put together its plans for the biggest event of the year. That is a tricky situation as there are all kinds of moving parts, including pieces that are not even in the company at the moment. The fact that a missing star might be the show’s feature attraction makes this more complicated, so WWE needs a backup plan.

For several months, the rumored main event of WrestleMania 39 has been The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, though nothing was ever made official. The Rock’s film schedule was always a problem and prevented WWE from being able to move forward with the plan. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s creative team is pitching new ideas for WrestleMania if the Rock is unable to work the show. They have a plan. We are almost ready to start the Road To WrestleMania and that means some plans are going to start coming together. There are a lot of things that need to be done, including locking up some appearances for the show. Since it is WrestleMania, there are going to be some especially big stars, and now one of them seems ready to come back to WWE for the show.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is under the belief that John Cena will be able to wrestle at WrestleMania 39. However, he will not be able to appear to promote the show in February or March, as he will be out of the country filming a movie. There is currently no word on who Cena will be facing, though a match with Austin Theory had been discussed. In addition, Logan Paul has challenged Cena to a match.

That’s a lot. There have been so many matches throughout the history of WWE that standing out is a difficult task. While there are several matches that are great enough to stand above the rest, there are some matches that are much more infamous than famous. Now we know a rather important detail about a match that took place nearly nineteen years ago.

Back at WrestleMania 20, Goldberg faced Brock Lesnar in a special showdown match. Both men were leaving the company though, resulting in fans taunting both of them throughout. The two also spent several minutes of the match not making contact or using only basic moves. Jim Ross discussed the match during a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, revealing that both of them were paid $250,000 for the match, which ran about 13 minutes. Goldberg and Lesnar would both return to WWE in later years, with Lesnar defeating Goldberg in a rematch at WrestleMania ..

That should help. Wrestlers work very hard in the ring to entertain the fans and put in quite a bit of physical efforts. There is almost no way to guarantee that a wrestler is going to stay completely healthy in any given match, but almost every wrestler has several built up health issues when their career is over. Thankfully there are ways to fix those situations, and now a WWE legend has done just that.

WWE Hall Of Famer Charles Wright, better known as the Godfather, has posted to Facebook, revealing that he has recently undergone hip replacement surgery. Wright announced that surgery went well and he is undergoing recovery, with morphine to help deal with his pain. Wright, 61 years old, who was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2016, where he won the Tag Team and Intercontinental Titles.

That’s special. Wrestlers are on the road for a very long time and spend several nights of their lives wrestling in front of a crowd. Those shows can probably run together rather easily after awhile, with one show not standing out from the others. Occasionally there will be a match that is more memorable though, and that was likely the situation earlier this month for one WWE star.

On December 11, Jamie Noble wrestled his first match in over seven years, teaming with Braun Strowman and the Brawling Brutes to defeat the Bloodline in what was described as Noble’s final match. They’re not sure what happened. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and one of the most complicated issues is finding a way to get everyone ring time. While there are all of the usual problems that can keep a wrestler out of action, there are times where it isn’t clear what exactly is going on. Now we are seeing it again, and things are still not clear.

This week on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW had plans for Miro following All Out on September 4, which would have led to a match at Full Gear. However, Miro reportedly turned the match down as he did not want to do it for some reason. Miro then responded to Meltzer on Twitter, asking what happened between January and June, seemingly referencing the fact that he did not wrestle during that time. In addition, Meltzer reported that former WWE stars are “leery” of doing jobs in AEW, w..

Check back later. There are a lot of stars in WWE but only a few of them rise to the top of the company. It means something to see one of them become one of the stars that WWE can depend on, which is why it happens so infrequently. At the same time, it can be a major issue when one of those stars is out of action for more than a little while, and unfortunately that is happening again.

Earlier this month, WWE announced that Drew McIntyre suffered a ruptured ear drum and was put out of action as a result. McIntyre was forced to miss a scheduled Tag Team Title match where he and Sheamus would challenge the Usos. According to PWInsider.com, McIntyre is not medically cleared to return to the ring and is currently not booked for any shows in the next week. There is no word on when McIntyre is expected back in the ring.

That’s a good sign. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler, as you never know how long someone is going to be out of action. There are certain kinds of injuries that are worse than others and they often have an open ended time frame for a return to the ring. That was the situation earlier this year for a prominent AEW name and now we have a small positive update.

Back in June, AEW’s Adam Cole suffered a concussion during a four way match at Forbidden Door. Cole has not wrestled since and has only made one appearance on AEW television since the show. According to Dave Meltzer on Twitter, Cole is doing “much better”, but there is no word on when Cole could be back on AEW TV. Meltzer said that AEW is being cautious as you never know when someone is going to be able to recover from a concussion.
