Welcome indeed. WWE has so many different people on its rosters because there are so many different rosters. Some of these shows are treated as a bit more important than others, but there is still time for a lot of different people to get some attention. Every now and then you see some of them move around too, and that seems to be the case again, with a new name making their Monday Night Raw debut.
NXT UK’s Piper Niven debuted during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Niven came to the ring with Eva Marie and wrestled in her place, defeating Naomi in less than a minute. Eva Marie then announced herself as the winner and posed. Commentary did not recognize Niven and did not refer to her by name. Niven made her NXT UK debut in 2019 after appearing in the first Mae Young Classic. She had been rumored as a possible enforcer for Eva Marie.

Monday Night Raw

It’s the go home show for Hell in a Cell and there are only four matches set for the card. In theory we should be getting more matches announced this week, but WWE has a habit of leaving some of the build until the very end at times. On top of that, we have the continuing adventures of Lily the evil doll. Let’s get to it.
We open with Alexa Bliss recapping the Lily/Shayna Baszler incident from last week. Bliss has put Lily in time out this week but she will see Shayna on Sunday. Nia Jax comes in and says they used to be friends but now Bliss needs to leave Shayna alone. Bliss laughs it off and Nia challenges her for tonight. The match is made.
We recap Nikki Cross’ technical wins over Rhea Ripley and Charlotte.

Things continue their up and down ways around here and I’m running out of ways to say I’m not sure what to expect. That is quite the change of pace after spending so many years talking about how I was out of ways to say that things were too repetitive around here. That means….I have no idea actually. Angel Garza vs. Mustafa Ali Ali takes him down by the arm to start and slaps on a headlock to annoy Garza even more. Back up and Garza knocks him into the corner, allowing Garza to TAKE OFF HIS PANTS! A neckbreaker out of the corner gives Ali two though and we’re already in the chinlock. Garza fights back up with a kick to the face into a flapjack for two of his own. Ali tries to get up but dives into a right hand to the face for another near fall but it’s too early for a running knee in the corner. A hard posting knocks Garza s..

We are well on the way to Best in the World and the return of fans to the shows. That can make for some interesting changes around here, which might not be the best thing at the moment. Ring of Honor has been going along pretty well as of late and hopefully they can continue that when fans return. Let’s get to it.

The Survival of the Fittest Tournament is back.
Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and runs down the card, including the first Survival of the Fittest qualifying match.
We hear about the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, which is a bunch of qualifying matches to set up a six way elimination. The winner gets a future World Title shot and none of the entrants have been World Champion before.

A familiar face. There have been a lot of names let go from WWE this year, some of which were a lot more surprising than the others. Some of them left fans wondering what WWE was thinking, as there was so much talent being let go from the company in a hurry. The question then became where would the wrestlers go next, and now we might have an answer for one of them.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Samoa Joe is expected to return to NXT as the new authority figure. This comes after William Regal teased leaving the promotion at the end of Takeover: In Your House. According to PWInsider.com, Triple H “snatched him back” as soon as he could, as Triple H brought Samoa Joe into WWE in the first place. Should Samoa Joe not be the new authority figure in NXT, he could be Regal’s enforcer. It is not expected that he will be wrestling at this point.
Samoa Joe wrestled in NXT from 2015-2018 and is a two time NXT Champion. He was released from WWE on April 15 along with several other wrest..

He’s kind of a big deal. One of the top stories in WWE in the last ten months has been the return and the rise of Roman Reigns. Having held the Universal Title since August 2020, Reigns has been one of the most dominant stars the company has seen in a rather long time. It has been a pretty great nine and a half months for Reigns, but WWE is also thinking about the future.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Reigns is booked as an unstoppable force who dominates everyone he faces in an attempt to set up his match against the Rock, whenever that may take place. Vince McMahon is said to see Reigns as someone who could carry the company for years to come and does not want Reigns as someone who is beaten down half of the time. McMahon’s theory is to “protect Reigns at every cost.”

It isn’t the worst idea. There are all kinds of people in NXT but they are going to need something to set them apart. You can do this in a few different ways, but one of the best ways to do this is to give a wrestler a good gimmick. That is the kind of thing that can make all the difference in the world, but sometimes you need to make a change. NXT might be doing that all over again.
According to Fightful Select, NXT’s Kona Reeves is making an attempt to get back in the ring after fifteen months out of action due to surgery for a torn labrum. Reeves is also attempting to debut a new character and there is no word on what the new idea will be. While Reeves has not wrestled since February 2019, he is still well liked around the Performance Center and the coaches have enjoyed working with him.

That is going to get people talking. The Coronavirus pandemic has been the most discussed news story in the world over the last year and a half and it is still a huge story to this day. Things are starting to change as of late though as the vaccine has spread around the United States, allowing things to get mostly back to normal. This includes in the wrestling world, but not everyone is getting on board.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE wants everyone in the company to be vaccinated against the Coronavirus. However, there are some wrestlers and employees both on the main roster and in NXT who are refusing to get vaccinated and believe that WWE cannot force them to do so. The NXT wrestlers are in the minority as most of them have received their vaccination, but such a group does exist. There are also some who have not been vaccinated yet but plan to do so before WWE returns to the road in July. No specific names were given.

See you later? The authority figure is a long term idea in wrestling and some of them are a lot better than other. It can be a little bit difficult to figure out the right balance to make the idea work but when it works out well, everything can be upgraded. Unfortunately it is fairly well to figure out that balance, and now one of the only great ones might be stepping away from the post.
The end of NXT Takeover: In Your House 2021 saw General Manager William Regal leaving the arena. As he left, he said that he had been running the show for seven years now but has never seen it as out of control as this. Regal said that it might be time for a change and then walked away without saying anything else. There is no word on what this means for Regal’s future in NXT.
This statement comes amid rising levels of chaos in NXT, including from Karrion Kross as the NXT Champion. Regal was forced to help break up another fight during the show, as Shotzi Blackheart returned and chased off Dakota Kai..

One more time? There have been a lot of changes in WWE over the last year, with some of those changes being based on things that have not been happening. WWE has not been able to do everything that they usually do because of the Coronavirus pandemic but that has begun to change a little bit in recent weeks. Now it might be changing even more later this year.
According to Wrestle Club, a Middle Eastern wrestling Twitter account (translated), WWE will be returning to Saudi Arabia in November, with no specific date specified. WWE has been running events in Saudi Arabian since 2018 with two of their events airing around the same time of the year (November 2, 2018 and October 31, 2019). Their most recent event in the country took place in February 2019 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

It’s a summer tradition. Tonight at the 2021 edition of NXT Takeover: In Your House, the company announced the date for its next big special event. Last summer, NXT ran The Great American Bash for two nights, on July 1 and 8, 2020, and this year, the company is doing it again.
The 2021 edition of the Great American Bash will take place on Tuesday, July 6, during the company’s regularly scheduled NXT program. No matches have been announced for the show as of now.

That’s what titles are for. There are all kinds of titles in the wrestling world today and some of them are a good bit more famous than others. While some titles are going to be recognized for their name, there are a few which are going to be known because of how they look. One of the more famous looking titles in history was brought back this week and now it has a new holder.
LA Knight defeated Cameron Grimes at this weekend’s NXT Takeover: In Your House to become the new Million Dollar Champion. The two have been competing to earn Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Legacy. DiBiase had decided that the two of them needed to go for the gold, setting up the ladder match in the process. This is Knight’s first title of any kind in NXT.
The Million Dollar Title was introduced in 1989 by DiBiase himself when he could not win the WWF Title. DiBiase would hold it for around two years, save for a reign by Virgil, before deactiving it upon winning the Tag Team Titles. The title has been brought bac..
