Another Title Change Takes Place At Money In The Bank

The gold shifts again. WWE is in a state of flux at the moment as fans are being allowed back into the arena for the first time in well over a year. That is the kind of thing that the company has been waiting on for a very long time now and it seems that they are going to be making the most of it. There are a few ways to do that and one of them was on display this weekend.
During Sunday’s Money In The Bank pay per view, Charlotte defeated Rhea Ripley to win the Raw Women’s Title. The win came via the Figure Eight, after Charlotte crushed Ripley’s leg using the steps. This makes Charlotte a five time Raw Women’s Champion to go with her five SmackDown Women’s Titles and one Divas Title. WWE also counts her two NXT Women’s Titles and Women’s Tag Team Title, billing her as a fourteen time champion as a result.
Charlotte has won some gold. Check out some of her title matches:

Title Change Takes Place At Money In The Bank

Another one on the resume. There are a lot of titles to be won in wrestling and some of them can make for some rather prestigious prizes. It can be even more impressive when someone wins a title more than once, which is often the case in WWE, where titles change hands fairly frequently. It was the case again this weekend, as a championship changed hands.
The Usos won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles on the Money In The Bank Kickoff Show by defeating Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio via an assisted rollup to Rey. The win makes the Usos seven time Tag Team Champions, between various titles. This comes after the Mysterios successfully defended the titles against the Usos in their only previous title defenses.
The Usos are quite the team. Check out some of their greatest moments:

Money In The Bank 2021 Live Coverage And Results

Money in the Bank 2021
Date: July 18, 2021
Location: Dickies Arena, Fort Worth, Texas
Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee
After Friday’s dress rehearsal, it’s time for the first show of any serious value in front of fans. The briefcases get pulled down tonight and it would not surprise me to see one of them get cashed in, as WWE is going to want to have a big splash going into the Summerslam build. A last minute replacement would not be shocking either. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Smackdown Tag Team Titles: Usos vs. Rey Mysterio/Dominik Mysterio The Mysterios are defending and walk through a portal near an Aztec pyramid to come into the arena. Dominik wristdrags Jimmy out of the corner to start and grabs an armbar. Rey comes in to a nice reaction and Dominik powerbombs him onto Jimmy for two. A cheap shot takes Rey down so the double teaming can begin in the corner. Rey wastes no time in getting over to Dominik for the tag as the pace pi..

Surprise Return Takes Place In Post SmackDown Battle Royal

Get them all in there. The biggest story coming out of this week in WWE has been the return of fans to the arenas. This has been a very long time coming and you could see just how much of a difference the fans being around made for everything else. The energy was back and that was a great thing, including for the wrestlers. Now one more wrestler is back to feel it as well.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, the post SmackDown dark match featured a battle royal, including Big E., Shinsuke Nakamura, Apollo Crews, Commander Azeez, Finn Balor, and more. One of the participants was a returning Shane Thorne, formerly known as Slapjack in Retribution, working his first match since March. There is no word on when Throne will return to television. Big E. won the battle royal and addressed the crowd after the show was over.

WWE Money In The Bank 2021 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s time for one of WWE’s biggest pay per views as the briefcases will be hung above the ring for some ladder matches. This time though there are going to be fans in attendance, which means that one of the biggest spectacles on the WWE calendar is going to have a live audience. Money in the Bank is always one of the harder to predict shows of the year so it’s guessing time. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: SmackDown Tag Team Titles: Rey Mysterio/Dominik Mysterio(c) vs. The Usos The Mysterios have defended the titles against the Usos twice now so a third title defense makes all the sense in the world right? That is how Tag Team Title stories go in WWE and I’m not sure what other idea they could have here. Hopefully they have something good here, as the teams should work well together, though putting them in this spot is a little bit weird.
Take three:

VIDEO: Several Stars Debut And Return At Slammiversary

It was a busy night. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling company in the world but it is absolutely no the only one. There are all kinds of other places to see very talented wrestlers around the world and that is a great thing for fans. Sometimes a former WWE wrestler will go somewhere else and we will get to see them thrive in a very different way. That might be the case all over again.
Several new stars made their debuts or returns at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary. Three wrestlers made their debuts and two more made a return, while another wrestler was teased for a future debut. During the show, No Way (formerly No Way Jose in WWE), Thunder Rosa and Jay White made their debuts. Chelsea Green (formerly known as Laurel Van Ness in Impact Wrestling), and Mickie James both made their returns to the promotion. Finally a vignette aired teasing the Drama King, which was the nickname for former WWE star Aiden English.

Huge Surprise Debut Ends Impact Wrestling Slammiversary

There’s your next big one. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years as all kinds of wrestlers are appearing in various promotions. That has shaken things up in a good way as wrestlers get to have matches against wrestlers you might not have been able to see before. It can make for some very exciting debuts and appearances, which was the case again this weekend.
Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay per view ended with Kenny Omega successfully retaining the Impact Wrestling World Title over Sami Callihan. After the match was over, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and current NEVER Openweight Champion Jay White made his Impact Wrestling debut to confront Omega. Someone was about to run to the ring but the feed went out before anything could happen. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, the team of FinJuice came to the ring to brawl with White. Juice Robinson was taken out by White, who left to end the night.

VIDEO: Vince McMahon CRUSHES His Workout At 75 Years Old

He’s still got it. Love him or hate him, there is absolutely no one like Vince McMahon. He is about as unique of a personality as you will ever find with an insane commitment to almost anything he does. This is mostly the case with business and the wrestling world, but McMahon does have a few other interests. One of those was on display recently and is rather impressive.
WWE’s corporate trainer Michael Monteforte has posted a new video to Instagram showing McMahon working out at WWE’s gym in Stamford, Connecticut. McMahon is doing a leg workout in a machine where he is leaning backwards and using his legs to push the weight up. There is now word on when the footage was shot. McMahon appeared on this week’s edition of SmackDown from Houston, Texas.
This is pretty impressive. Check out McMahon’s workout, plus some other stars in training:

VIDEO: Bonus SmackDown Footage During Commercials

The show isn’t over. WWE TV is a rather complicated production as you do not know what you are going to see on a given night. That can make things a lot more interesting than one might expect, if nothing else because the fans in person get to see something extra. They certainly did this week, as WWE’s cameras kept rolling when the show was taking a break.
WWE has released a series of videos featuring footage during the commercial breaks of this week’s SmackDown. The three clips feature the United States Champion Apollo Crews with Commander Azeez, Liv Morgan and Kevin Owens and Big E. Crews and Azeez did not appear during the show, but the others all made appearances either in a match or at ringside as part of another one. This week’s SmackDown was the first with fans in attendance since March 2020.
There is some cool stuff here. Check out what you didn’t get to see at home:

Rock And Roman Reigns May Be In A Tag Match

It’s a way to go. This weekend, WWE will be holding its annual Money In The Bank pay per view. That alone is big enough, but Summerslam takes place just over later. Even with that show not being very far away, WWE is already thinking about WrestleMania 38 next April. That is pretty far in advance, but WWE already might have a huge match scheduled for the show.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering a tag team match involving the Rock and Roman Reigns facing each other at WrestleMania 38. The match would see both wrestlers teaming with an Uso, possibly in an attempt to keep Rock from having to do so much in the ring to protect his movie commitments. While the match has been discussed, WWE’s main goal would still be having the two face off in a singles match.
There is a certain history there. Check out the family together:

WATCH: Emotional Moment After This Week’s SmackDown

It is worth a special moment. This week’s edition of SmackDown featured the return of fans to WWE events for the first time since March 2020. That was a very important moment for the company and you knew that WWE was going to do something special for the occasion. There were some surprise moments on the show, but one of the best parts took place after the show went off the air.
Following this week’s edition of SmackDown, Big E. and several wrestlers stayed in the ring, with Big E. addressing the crowd. Big E. talked about how the WWE had been wrestling in front of screens for the last year plus but now the fans were back. He could not think of a better place to return than in Houston and thanked the fans for their energy to end the night.
It was an important show. Check out Big E.’s speech and some more moments from the night:

REVIEW: Great American Bash 2005: Story Time

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Great American Bash 2005
Date: July 24, 2005
Location: HSBC Arena, Buffalo, New York
Attendance: 8,000
Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz
It’s their patriotic show, which isn’t likely to mean much in regards to anything more than the name. The official main event is Batista defending the World Title against JBL but the real main event is Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio over the secret that Guerrero wants to tell Rey’s son Dominic. I’m not seeing a great show here, but it could be lot worse. Let’s get to it.
