The march to No Surrender is on and that means it is time to start setting up a card. Impact continues to be doing fairly well, and the question now is what is next for Moose and the World Title. By that, I mean getting to defend against W. Morrissey. For once I’m actually curious to see how things are going here and that is nice to be able to say, at least partially because of the Ring of Honor invasion. Let’s get to it.
Opening recap.
Opening sequence.
Tasha Steelz vs. Chelsea Green Mickie James is on commentary and Savannah Evans is here with Steelz. Green sends her into the corner to start but gets run over, allowing Steelz to hammer away. Some shouting at Mickie doesn’t seem to cause Steelz too many problems but Green blocks the crucifix bomb. A jumping cutter drops Green for two but she’s right back up with a lifting Downward Spiral for her own near fall. Back up and Steel..

REVIEW: WCW Monday Nitro – February 26, 2001: They’re Getting Close

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Monday Nitro #284
Date: February 26, 2001
Location: Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana
Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson
We had a pretty good show on Wednesday so maybe we’re in for something a bit better than usual this week. The big story is Diamond Dallas Page as the latest great hope against the Magnificent Seven and at least the big match should be better than the mess of Steiner vs. Nash. Let’s get to it.
We open with Kronik having been laid out in the back and Doug Dillinger accusing Totally ..

FULL MATCH: Grudge Match Takes Place After Monday Night Raw

Blink and you’ll miss it. There is a lot of WWE content on any given week but some of them are even bigger than others. When the company has a major weekend event, things get even bigger than usual and it can be quite a bit of work. That can mean that they might need a bit of a breather, which was the case this weekend with the Royal Rumble. As a result, WWE kept things short after this week’s first TV show ended.
This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw ended with a showdown between Ronda Rousey and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Once Rousey left, Lita appeared and challenged Lynch to a match at Elimination Chamber, which Lynch accepted to end the show. After the show went off the air, Bianca Belair came to the ring to face Lynch, who tried to run out on the match. Lita forced her back in though and Belair defeated Lynch with the KOD in 12 seconds in a non-title match. This was revenge for Belair after Lynch defeated her for the title in less than a minute at Summerslam 2021.

WRESTLING RUMORS: Surprising WWE Title Match Possible For WrestleMania 38

It would be sad to see. Tag team wrestling has a weird history in WWE, as the company does not seem to care about it very often. That can make for some weak periods for tag teams, but every now and then you find something that catches the fans’ attention. Unfortunately that can lead to some issues when it comes to splitting teams up, and we might be seeing that again soon.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE had plans for Randy Orton and Riddle of RKBro to face off at WrestleMania 38. The match had been planned for Summerslam 2021 but WWE decided to hold off until WrestleMania instead. Some members of WWE Creative do not want to split the team, but if they do have the match, they would rather it be for the WWE Championship. There is no word on how either of them would win the title or if WWE is still planning to run the match.
WWE had plans since the pairing began last spring for Riddle vs Randy Orton @ SummerSlam, which didn’t happen. Plan was to hold off til Mania. I..

Dream Title Match Officially Set For WWE Elimination Chamber

I’d call it a dream match. The WWE Women’s Revolution changed the way the wrestling world worked in a great way. After so many years of women’s wrestling being treated as little more than a joke, it was becoming something a lot more interesting and important, which was certainly a big upgrade. The change would not have happened without the stage being set though, and now those two generations are clashing.
This week’s Monday Night Raw ended with an unscheduled showdown between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Lita. After coming to the ring to confront her, Lita challenged Lynch to a title shot at Elimination Chamber on February 19. After initially backing down, Lynch agreed to the match. This will be Lita’s first WWE singles match since she defeated Heath Slater on the July 23, 2012 Monday Night Raw.
Lita is a four time Women’s Champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. She and Trish Stratus were the first women to main event an episode of Monday Night Raw, with..

WrestleMania 38 Main Event Officially Announced

There’s one of the big ones. We are about two months away from WrestleMania 38 and that means it is time to start putting the card together. While there is still a big show left between now and WrestleMania, WWE is already looking past Elimination Chamber, with one of the big WrestleMania matches being set. That match was set this week and it is going to be a special one.
Brock Lesnar won the men’s Royal Rumble match over the weekend, earning the right to challenge for any World Title at WrestleMania 38. This week on Monday Night Raw, Lesnar chose to face Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who cost him the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble. There is no word on if Reigns will defend the title before WrestleMania. Lesnar and Reigns have fought at two WrestleManias before, facing off at WrestleMania 31 and 34, with the first match going to a no contest and Lesnar winning the second.
Opinion: I don’t think there is any surprise that we are getting Reigns vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania as it has se..

It’s Ready: Lineup Set For Elimination Chamber Match For WWE Title

And then there were six. With about two months to go before WrestleMania 38, it is time for WWE to start setting up the card. They have already set up what is likely to be the main event, but that match could very well change, as there is still a major event left to air. That event will be held on February 19 in Saudi Arabia with Elimination Chamber, and now we know what is going to be headlining the show.
WWE has already announced that WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will be defending the title inside the Elimination Chamber. This week on Monday Night Raw, Lashley’s five challengers were announced for the match. In addition to Lashley, the following names will take part in the Elimination Chamber match:
Brock Lesnar
Seth Rollins
Austin Theory
Riddle
AJ Styles
Lesnar and Rollins were added to the match by orders of WWE executives. The other three all won qualifying matches, with Theory defeating Kevin Owens, Riddle defeating Otis and Styles defeating Rey Mysterio.
Opinion: This is the k..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – January 31, 2022

Monday Night Raw
Date: January 31, 2022
Location: Heritage Bank Center, Cincinnati, Ohio
Commentators: Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves
The Royal Rumble has come and gone and that means we are officially on the Road To WrestleMania. As a result, it is time to start hammering in the pieces for the next elimination based match, as Elimination Chamber is in less than two weeks. Bobby Lashley is the new WWE Champion and that means he is going to need a challenger. Let’s get to it.
We open with a recap of Brock Lesnar losing the WWE Title to Bobby Lashley with the help of Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. Worry not though as Lesnar won the Royal Rumble later in the night.
Here is Adam Pearce in the ring to hype up the big things we will be seeing tonight. There is a road block on the Road To Wrestlemania though, which is called the Elimination Chamber. Bobby Lashley will be defending his WWE Title inside the Elimination Chamber….and here are MVP and Lashley to interrupt. MVP rants abo..

Huge Title Match Set For Elimination Chamber

That’s up next. The Royal Rumble has come and gone with the focal point being on the two namesake matches. In addition to that though, the WWE Championship changed hands as Brock Lesnar lost the title to Bobby Lashley, making him a two time champion. That is the kind of thing that could be an important deal for the future and now we might have an idea of what is coming next.
WWE has announced that Lashley will defend his WWE Title inside the Elimination Chamber at the event of the same name. Elimination Chamber is scheduled for February 19 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At the moment, there is no word on who will be challenging Lashley for the title or when the contenders will be determined. Lashley has participated in one Elimination Chamber match, winning the ECW World Title at December To Dismember in 2006.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you knew was coming and it makes sense in this case. The title is in a bit of a state of flux and there is a real chance that the title could ..

The Men’s Royal Rumble Originally Had A Very Different Winner

That would have been different. The Royal Rumble has come and gone for the year and that makes for some very interesting possibilities. We now know what is likely to happen when it comes to some of the World Title matches at WrestleMania 38, as there are two brand new #1 contenders set. That being said, there is still time to change things up, and there was almost a very different result for one of the matches.
According to PWInsider.com, the original plan for the men’s Royal Rumble would have seen Riddle winning rather than Brock Lesnar, who entered the match at #30 and won the match instead. Riddle was in the match as well, entering the match at #20 and lasting about twenty minutes with two eliminations before being eliminated by Lesnar. There was also a discussion of Riddle’s partner Randy Orton winning the match in his hometown, which would have tied Orton for the most Royal Rumble wins of all time. There is no word on what caused WWE to decide on Lesnar winning.
Opinion: This is..

He’s Back: WWE Legend Returning To Television Soon

Welcome back. There have been a lot of wrestlers in WWE over the years and some of them have been a lot more famous than others. WWE knows how to present their legends as big stars, allowing them to have quite the lengthy careers, both in the ring and after their time in the ring is over. That can make for some great returns, and now we might be seeing another one.
During a recent edition of the Kurt Angle Show, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that he will be returning to WWE television for “the next month or so”. There is no word on when Angle will be making his return or what he will be doing. Angle was reportedly brought in for Royal Rumble weekend but did not make an on-camera appearance. There is however a chance that he filmed something for a later premiere.
Opinion: This is something that could work out well, though I do not need to see Angle get back in the ring. Ultimately, he finally got out of the ring and it was a good bit late, as he did not look anywhere close to ..

Brock Lesnar’s ‘Royal Rumble’ Win: The Right Move For WWE?

Brock Lesnar’s win at the 2022 Royal Rumble on January 29 was not surprising to many WWE fans. After all, he is The Beast Incarnate and a heavily featured star in the company. In fact, if not for Roman Reigns, Lesnar would likely be the undisputed face of WWE. Because of this, a Brock victory on one of WWE’s biggest nights of the year is not all that shocking.
But a Brock victory in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match? That’s another matter altogether. Lesnar dropped the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley earlier in the evening, which opened the door for at least the possibility of a surprise Rumble entry. Reigns’ interference in Lesnar’s match made that surprise a reality. But was Brock’s win the right move?

Building The Beast Very few Superstars have captured the imagination of WWE fans like Brock Lesnar. He’s been called an anomaly, which fits him perfectly. He’s a country boy at heart, with an easy smile and an awkward disposition. He doesn’t s..
