WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Had Some Specific Rules About Mickie James’ Appearance

That is rather specific. While WWE tends to dominate the wrestling landscape, there are several other wrestling promotions in the world. Some of them are rather established and have been around for a long time. These other promotions have some major names and talents who have been around for a long time. It is rather rare to see WWE interact with them, but it does happen occasionally. However, it seems that WWE had some specific rules in place about one such interaction.
Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James appeared in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match. James wore her Knockouts Title to the ring and was acknowledged as being part of the Impact Wrestling. According to Will Washington on Fightful Grapsody, while WWE brought James in, there were several rules about her appearance. These included being allowed to say “Impact” but not “Impact Wrestling”, or use the term “World” or “Knockouts”. The idea was that WWE does not use the terms “wrestling”, “world” or James’ chyr..

NXT Live Coverage And Results – February 8, 2022

NXT
Date: February 8, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett
We are a week away from Vengeance Day but there is another title match to get through first. This week will see Mandy Rose defending the Women’s Title against Kay Lee Ray in a match that seems likely to have some shenanigans. Other than that, we continue the men’s Dusty Classic while trying to find a field for the women’s version. Let’s get to it.
The opening video features Mandy Rose talking about all of her success and demands to be taken serious.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semifinals: Grizzled Young veterans vs. Creed Brothers The Creeds break up the Veterans’ trash talking entrance and start the fight fast. That means Gibson gets beaten down inside as the brothers get to take turns on him. Brutus suplexes Julius onto Gibson but a cheap shot allows the tag to Drake. Julius runs Drake over without much trouble and isn’t fooled as Gibson comes in off a blind tag..

WWE Seems To Be Introducing New Show

Add it to the schedule? WWE has a lot of content at any give time and that can make for some difficult situations. The company has to find a way to fill in all of that time and sometimes it is a little bit more difficult to come up with something new. There are all kinds of shows that are on the regular WWE calendar, but they do add in a fresh one every now and then. Now we might be seeing another one.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed a new trademark for “Sunday Stunner”, which will be a new wrestling show of some kind. It is not clear if the show will be a new pay per view or a regular television show. WWE has not acknowledged the show or promoted it in any way. This comes less than a month after WWE trademarked some former WCW event names for future use.
Opinion: I’m not sure what Sunday Stunner will be for but it wouldn’t shock me to see it as something like a Saudi Arabia show or a new NXT event. Sunday Stunner is not exactly a great or inspiring name, but WWE does not e..

Interesting Note On WWE’s Efforts To Appease FOX

They have people to please. WWE knows how to make more money than they know what to do with most of the time and that has certainly been the case as of late. The company has a group of major income sources, with their television deals near the top of the list. Those deals keep WWE profitable every year and that means WWE is going to want to do what they can to keep them around. It seems they have been doing it even more as of late.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has been going out of its way to make FOX happy. This is because WWE feels FOX does not need them, as SmackDown’s audiences are lower than FOX’s averages. As a result, WWE has put several bigger names on SmackDown, including Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte. There is nothing to suggest that FOX will be dropping WWE or changing their time slot. WWE began a five year deal with FOX in September 2019.
Opinion: What matters here is that WWE seems to be making FOX happy. While WWE might not be drawing the same n..

Monday Night Raw Star And NXT Champion Continue To Tease Title Match

That could be beneficial. WWE has shaken up NXT so much in recent months that it is barely recognizable. The show has lost so many wrestlers and undergone so many changes, mainly over its roster. The new NXT roster is nothing like it was before, with some of the new names already standing out. Now one of them seems ready for some bigger competition from the main WWE rosters.
Last week, Monday Night Raw’s Dolph Ziggler spoke about NXT Champion Bron Breakker, saying that he might come to NXT and take the championship from him. Breakker has since responded, saying that Ziggler can have the next title shot after Santos Escobar, whose title shot is scheduled for February 15 at Vengeance Day. There is no word on if Ziggler will be appearing in NXT or if the title match will take place.
This could be interesting. Check out what has happened between Ziggler and Breakker:

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2018: Wrap It Up Already

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Elimination Chamber 2018
Date: February 25, 2018
Location: T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada
Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jonathan Coachman
We’re only two stops away from Wrestlemania now because it just wouldn’t be right to not squeeze in a pair of pay per views between the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. Tonight is a show of pretty predictable endings but at least the Elimination Chamber matches themselves should be a lot of fun. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Anderson and Gallows vs. Miztourage

It’s Mapped Out: WWE’s Plans For Drew McIntyre’s Road To WrestleMania 38

Sounds like a plan. We are less than two months away from WrestleMania 38 and that means, at least in theory, that WWE has a plan for what they are going to be doing for the biggest event of the year. WWE has already set up a few matches for the show, but there is something else on the way there in the form of Elimination Chamber. Now it seems that a match for the show is part of a bigger plan for one specific wrestler.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has a plan in mind for Drew McIntyre’s road to WrestleMania. McIntyre returned from a neck injury at the Royal Rumble in January but is not completely healed. As a result, he will not wrestle on live events but will appear on television. He is expected to face Madcap Moss at Elimination Chamber and likely Happy Corbin at WrestleMania. McIntyre could be completely healed after WrestleMania in early April.
Opinion: There is a bit to unpack here, as not only is McIntyre not quite healed up, but he might be facing Corbin at Wrest..

WWE Reportedly Spoke With Ronda Rousey About Reactions To Fans

They needed to talk. Last month, Ronda Rousey made her return to WWE after a three year absence and won the women’s Royal Rumble. The victory put her in line for a Women’s Title match of her choosing at WrestleMania 38, meaning that she will be one of the more prominently featured players on WWE television going forward. That means some extra attention, and therefore she might need to work on something.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has spoken to Rousey about letting go of her negative feelings over fans rejecting her. The idea is that Rousey is supposed to be the babyface in the story, which will not work if she is angry at the fans. Rousey is said to have been better than she was regarding the situation and wants to be in WWE. She is currently scheduled to challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38.
Opinion: WWE is right in that Rousey has to do something to change her feelings on something like this. You can only get so far with not liking ..

WATCH: WWE Teases A New Romance Storyline On Monday Night Raw

That’s a story they can tell. There is a lot of WWE television time to fill in every single week and some of the things that they do are rather entertaining. Eventually though, the company is going to run out of original ideas and something is going to feel a bit familiar. That is not a bad thing though, and this time around, we might be getting something you have seen before with some fresh faces.
Dana Brooke has held the WWE 24/7 Title since the November 21, 2021 edition of Monday Night Raw. During her title reign, former champion Reggie has been advising Brooke in an effort to retain the title. This week on Monday Night Raw, Brooke thanked Reggie for his help and kissed him on the cheek. Brooke made it clear that they were friends, though Reggie looked at her without saying anything. Eventually Reggie broke the look and said he was fine with everything, albeit while not looking happy with the situation, suggesting a potential romantic interest in Brooke.
This could be interesting…

AEW Roster Speculates On Major Free Agent Signing

They might be on to something. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years and that has been a good thing. Rather than having WWE as the only real power in the industry, AEW has risen up to join the higher ranks. That is something wrestling fans and wrestlers have wanted for a very long time now, and we might be about to see another wrestler who has left WWE head to a new home in AEW.
Last week, AEW President Tony Khan announced that a new free agent would be debuting during this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. According to Fightful Select, several members of the AEW roster believe that the new signing will be former WWE star Keith Lee. However, it is said that no one is sure that Lee is the signing. Lee’s WWE no compete clause recently expired, meaning that he is free to sign anywhere he wants to.
Opinion: Lee is a very distinct possibility and someone that would make a lot of sense in AEW. You never know what you re going to get in AEW though and that is what makes this a..

NXT UK Results – February 3, 2022

NXT UK
Date: February 3, 2022
Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England
Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness
It’s the second title week in a row around here as we follow up last week’s United Kingdom Title match with a Women’s Title match as Meiko Satomura defends against Blair Davenport. At the same time, we have the finals of the #1 contenders tag team tournament, which could be a good one. I continue to have high hopes for this show and that isn’t something you get to say very often these days. Let’s get to it.
We open with a look at the Japanese street fight between Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport.
Opening sequence.
Jack Starz/Dave Mastiff vs. Oliver Carter/Ashton Smith The winners get a future Tag Team Title shot at Moustache Mountain, who is on commentary. Carter works on Starz’s wrist but can’t get very far as Starz takes him to the mat. An armdrag into an armbar works a bit better on Starz as Nigel tries to drive some tensions among the champs over the Herita..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – February 7, 2022

Monday Night Raw
Date: February 7, 2022
Location: Ball Arena, Denver, Colorado
Commentators: Jim Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves
We have less than two weeks to go before Elimination Chamber and a lot of the big matches are set. Since this is Raw, we have two Elimination Chamber matches set up, plus Becky Lynch vs. Lita, as Smackdown doesn’t seem all that important this month. Tonight is a special show since we are on SyFy due to the Winter Olympics, so we have NO COMMERCIALS in the first hour. I’m thrilled too. Let’s get to it.
We open big with the final round of the Academic Challenge between RKBro and the Alpha Academy. This time around, it’s a Quiz Bowl competition and after looking at the spelling bee/scooter race being split, we’re ready to go. Chad Gable explains the rules: it’s one point per question and if you get it wrong, the other team gets to steal. One point per answer, first to give points wins.
Alpha Academy gets the history question (who was the first President wit..
