It can be fun to see someone well known for something outside of wrestling get involved and that might have been the case again this weekend. WWE held its annual Summerslam event over the weekend and as usual it was one of their biggest shows of the year. Actress Kat Dennings, best known for her roles in the Thor movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Two Broke Girls tweeted about the show, saying that it was her first Summerslam and made her feel unwell. It’s always a possibility. Wrestlers are some of the hardest working athletes you will see anywhere and they put their bodies through some incredible effort every time they get in the ring. Unfortunately there is always the chance that someone is going to get hurt, which is a possibility for everyone on the card. It very well may have happened again to a fairly big name. Becky Lynch lost to Bianca Belair in a Raw Women’s Title match during the opening match of this weekend’s WWE Summerslam. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Lynch was seen favoring her shoulder throughout the match and left the stadium with the WWE medical team. There is no word on what happened to Lynch or how severe any possible injury may be, assuming the injury was a legitimate one. Opinion: This is something that can happen at any point in a match and that is never something you want to see. I guess he wasn’t a fan. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in recent weeks and the biggest has been the departure of Vince McMahon. After about forty years of running the company, McMahon has finally retired, taking with him a long legacy. One piece of that legacy is turning down ideas that might have flourished, which very well might be the case again. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Summerslam event, with Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair successfully defending her title. After the match, Bayley returned and was accompanied by Io Shirai and Dakota Kai. According to Fightful Select, the stable was originally pitched to McMahon but he shot the idea down. There is no word on the upcoming plans for the team. Opinion: I’m intrigued by the idea of the new trio, if nothing else because they are a fresh idea. There’s one more thing to do. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Summerslam show, which was certainly eventful. The show was the first major event following Vince McMahon’s retirement from the company, which meant that things were changing in a hurry. WWE needed to do something big for the show and that is what they did in the main event, though there was one more thing to do. The main event of Summerslam was a Last Man Standing match with Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Title against Brock Lesnar. During the match, Lesnar used a tractor to lift the ring up, which stayed off the ground throughout the rest of the show. After the show was over, Lesnar got back into the elevated ring to retrieve his cowboy hat, which earned an ovation from the crowd. It was a strange visual. Welcome back. The WWE Women’s Revolution took place just over seven years ago and it was one of the best things to have happened to the company. The women’s division has been around for a long time in WWE but it took a special group of women to make it matter. Those women are still around today and now another one of them is back after a rather long time away, but she didn’t come alone. The opening match at this year’s Summerslam saw Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair successfully defend her title against Becky Lynch. Following the match, Bayley returned after missing over a year of action due to a torn ACL. Former NXT star Dakota Kai and former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai joined Bayley in the ring and had a standoff with Belair and Lynch before leaving without anything physical taking place. Take Three: New Grudge Match With Special Stipulation Added To WWE Summerslam

Put it on the card. We are less than a week away from Summerslam and that means most of the card is set. The majority of the show is ready and now WWE has to build up what they have. There is still a little more time to add something else though and that is what they did this week, as a new grudge match was added to the show. This time though, there is a bit of a twist. This week on Monday Night Raw, a No Disqualification tag match between the Mysterios and Judgment Day was added to the Summerslam card. The match was added after the Mysterios defeated Judgment Day in a regular match earlier in the show, only to have Judgment Day attack Rey Mysterio later in the night. This will be the third match between the teams, with the Mysterios having won the first two. Opinion: I’m not sure how much need there is to have this match added to Summerslam after the Mysterios defeated Judgment Day again this week. Maybe the stipulation can add in something new, but there is a very good chance that ..

They were thinking about it. WWE has been a PG product for a very long time now and that has been part of the company’s strongest financial period ever. Fans seem to like the idea of a safer show for family viewing and it has certainly been a success. However, that is not working out for some fans and the television audiences continue to trend down. WWE has been toying with the idea of some changes, and one seemed ready to happen, at least for a few hours. On Wednesday, Peacock had the upcoming Summerslam broadcast rated as a TV-14 event, before ultimately changing it back to a TV-PG, as WWE shows have been for years. This comes as WWE had reportedly been discussing moving Monday Night Raw back to a TV-14 rating. There is no word on when such a change would take place, or if the change will involve other WWE shows. That means they need to set up a card for the event in a hurry and thankfully they have already gotten started on the process. Some of the matches will be things that you have seen before and now we know another rematch that will be taking place. At Money In The Bank, Bobby Lashley defeated Theory to become the new United States Champion. This week on Monday Night Raw, Theory announced that he will be receiving his rematch against Lashley at Summerslam. Theory also promised to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase that night against the winner of the show’s main event. Summerslam takes place on Saturday July 30. Opinion: This is a match that makes sense for both people as there is already a match built in and a reason for it to take place.
